Gardening Interest?

Companion planting is something that I've studied for quite a few years so if you need help with that please let me know. I garden for profit so if you want to pick my brain I'm always around.

Perhaps adding in a scythe or a potato fork could be a subsection under rakes.

Also, are there flowers, herbs, fruits or vegetables that could be beneficial for magical use?

What about adding in a section to link to each cities specialized plants? There are some that have their own write ups on regional plants if I'm not mistaken.

That's all I can think of right now but I think what you currently have is pretty solid.

Hey Crystal welcome back btw! I have a slight suggestion for you. If your willing to hear. Maybe instead of explaining each special plant by city. To make it easier and probably more simple. You could level it down to just the domains? Since each city is inside that particular domain has some particular similarities between each of them? Thoughts? Oh, and maybe a portion for the History of gardnening as well. I think that was in the required parts of writing a skill article... I think. XD

But otherwise, it looks good to me.

Thank you, it's good to be back! I re-read Firenze's post and I realized she said to link it, so I won't be writing much in terms of specialized plants since it's already there. As for history, is that a new requirement? Or did I miss it? xD I'll check just to be sure.

I was told that I needed it for my skill. Unless, I just felt like doing it. XD if anyone knows, they can certainly correct me on this. I've just figured it'll be a bit more realistic to have a brief history of when gardening became an interest. Like fishing.

Inside I hope to explain the differences between farming and gardening as well as similarities. This section will also detail a bit of Gardening history. This outline looks pretty nice to me. Have you considered adding cooking as a related skill, because of the herb & ingredient gardening? Or perhaps floristry for aesthetic gardening? Those are the only other things I can think of to add.

Hunting, maybe foraging? Foraging also seems to be pretty big for gardening as you'll be picking out what flowers are non toxic and which ones are for special use? Perhaps observation and historic knowledge on the flowers? That's what I can think of as well.

I actually considered cooking, but didn't add it. I will now though. I'll also add floristry.

Hunting is more of finding animals I think, and I think foraging refers to actually hunting for the food. So I'm not necessarily sure if that would be related. Observation isn't really necessary, and is covered by botany.

Until more collaboration occurs between the flora of specific regions I would leave plant specifics of regions out of this article. Instead a good suggestion is to write up the gardening requirements of different climates for different species or families of plants, vegetables, fruits - etc.

In general it is good idea not to include specifics of regions in skill write-ups as these things fall under the ST's control.
