Yeah, Luke, that is where I got Cailet from. I haven't read the books in at least five years, though, so I don't quite remember the nuances of the actual character Cailet... hopefully I didn't rip her off! lol Kidding, I know I didn't.

Kadrath, I appreciate the kind words. You're right that he has low self esteem. In fact, I don't really know why I continue to talk to him because he constantly rips other people down, bashes things and even makes fun of me personally. I shared with him last night that a girl I went to High school with is actually on American Idol and made it to the top 13! Even though we weren't close and I was better friends with her sister, I'm proud! Want to know what he said? "People still watch that joke of a show?"

Yeah. He's a canker. I'm not really taking his response to my book suggestion as personal as it sounds... I was more just shocked and appalled. His reaction was pretty much a guarantee at this point, y'know?

But you're also right. I read what I like and that's all that matters... I guess that's what I was trying to say why I don't usually recommend books to people because my choices are personal, y'know?

Anyway, Thanks for the kind words, the both of you! I'm way too sensitive for my own good sometimes. And Luke, I'll be looking up those books! They actually sounds really really intriguing.

...Awwwwww Jennnnnnnn that's so fricken CUTE!!! I don't know how you find these pictures.

[Aidara's Scrapbook] It's Real For Us

Yeah.. I definitely like fantasy, though I have tried to branch out into other genres. My problem with people recommending books to me is.. especially if it's outside my comfort zone of D&D-esque fantasy is that I'm probably not going to read it. Recommend it all you want, unless you place it in my hands it's probably never going to be read by me because I am cheap and don't buy outside my comfort zone. That's also why I rarely recommend books.. because people aren't going to go and read it usually, especially if it's outside their comfort zones.

Now.. when someone does recommend something to me and loans me a copy, I usually do like it, because I like any good story, regardless of the backdrop. Shike, one of my favorite books, was a book I borrowed from my dad about ancient Japan, but no fantasy. It was a realistic book, and it was awesome. ...one book I did buy and love, though I only bought it because I thought it was a joke, was Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. Awesome.

The Hunger Games, which I recommended to you, I have put off reading for months because my in-laws kept telling me to read them, but I wasn't going to go buy them. Then one of them gets me the first for Christmas and I sit down to read it, finished it that day and borrowed the second before I ever went home.

*ponders*

...did I have a point in there somewhere. I have no clue. Anyway, you find a point that is to your liking, and take it, because I kind of just started rambling.

Ron, I super love you

I'm also grumpy as all fuck today. I don't know why. I could post some really ranty shit and piss people ofF intentionally but I'm not gonna take my funky day out on Miza.

I feel like I should go run off into the woods and snarl to myself and break trees and other badass angry stuff. But no. I'm just a whimpy nerd girl so I'll just pout and whine and then go read or something.

Accidents Happen

Image

Everyone in the accident was okay, even the other car. However, I am now firmly on Jen's side: This is one fucked up week.

This was the first accident that I've ever been in, minus the one rear-end collision that I had but that was hardly more than a tap. What happened here, the short story, was we were pulling out of the green-light off of a freeway when the old woman in a Chevy SUV came barreling over the hill and completely ran her red light. The impact completely turned our car around and the Chevy was going fast enough that even after the hit, she traveled another 200 yards down the road before stopping.

Ian was driving and I was the passenger, and we're both fine. I was looking down texting Ron (*Shakes Fist*) or in the process of texting him (I dont think he ever got the message) when it happened. I didn't see it at all, so I was taken completely by surprise. I don't remember the actual moment of the accident because it happend so fast, but since I was leaning forward the airbag hit me in the face. Ian said I screamed bloody murder but I don't remember doing that.

Image

The very, very first thing I thought: Damn, those airbags look like baseballs. And seriously, they are always portrayed as these fluffy looking pillows. Not the case. They also emit this white gas that smells soooo bad. You can see the white Chevy right out the window. That's how far away she got after hitting us.

Image

My actual first instinct was to cry. I seriously just looked around, saw that Ian was alive (And trying to calm me down, since I was crying before I realized it) and then burst into full-out tears. Some nice guy pulled over and asked if I was okay since I was probably making a scene. They took me to the hospital for stomach and chest pains, but my ankle hurts the worst. I don't know wtf I did to it.

Understandably, I don't want to get back in a car. That one is totaled, and my little Mazda, would have been shattered and Ian probably wouldn't have survived. That's like a slap in the face. I would have also seriously gone through the windshield if I didn't have my seatbelt on.

Reality sets in and this shit isn't a joke. You get pissed and act like an ass when you're driving, tailgate or whatever. But then this shit happens and you wake up. I'm still a little rattled and, sure, I'm probably over reacting. People go through a lot worse, people don't survive, but we're lucky that we did!

Recently one of my best friends updated her blog, and I gave it a read. I noticed that her description of herself dissected it into parts. I thought it was pretty cute. I was thinking about it, and I wanted to try!

One part Nerd
One part Dork (There is a difference, folks)
One part Housewife
One part Child
One part Writer

Blah. I don't know if I like it, but I'm horrible at picking out specifics about myself.
