In the time before the Valterrian in what would eventually become the Cobalt Mountains stood a temple, built to honor the dark god Rhysol. When Ivak raged across the world and the Cobalt Mountains were formed, most of the temple was destroyed, though the central building rose with the mountain and remained mostly intact. However, everyone inside died and the temple itself was lost to the ages. Over five hundred years of disuse slowly weathered away at the structure until it was recognizable as little more than a crumpled ruin, a single building barely standing. The altar within, however, remained unchanged over the centuries and appeared just as it did in the time before Ivak's imprisonment. When the Ebonstryfe decided to attack the city of Syliras, the location of the temple was revealed to the Chaon and was set up as the central base of operations. Hidden high in the mountains, east of the Lykolav mines, it was an ideal place for the Ebonstryfe to gather and prepare to strike at the knights. Repairs were being made to the temple, and the Ebonstryfe set up camp around the outside. Not long after establishing the base a tunnel was found and it is thought to connect with the mines to the west, though none have explored it thoroughly enough to be certain. The temple is used primarily for worship, while everything else is handled in the various tents placed outside.
