A Tune Near The Water Is October's Featured Thread!

Purely social threads tend to bore me, as a rule, but there are always exceptions. I've admired both Kit and Ireth's writing since I first encountered them; they're excellent on grammar, characterization and description, and seeing them together is a real treat. I love this thread because it describes a very basic scene -- a busker, and somebody meeting and appreciating her music -- and in the hands of many writers it would be boring and flat, but with these two, it's as engaging as any adventure story. They really bring the scene to life, vividly and consistently describing the environment and events through the eyes of their characters in an engaging way. Reading this thread feels like taking a relaxing walk in the park just to feel the sunlight on one's face, and is an excellent demonstration of what skilled and dedicated writing can do.
