I like the idea of you dictating a genre. Then maybe we have a limited time frame to suggest a book. Say a day or two. Then that list is compiled and we have an equally as limited time frame to vote. Hrm. Though if everyone votes for their book we won't get anywhere.

Soooo. What Ely picks three people to suggest a book in the appropriate genre? Alphabetical order, random, whatever, who cares, right? Next month, three different people..

This sounds like a good idea. I would prefer to go with this one because I trust Ely to make good picks;)

Also I would prefer if we didn't do any erotic books as I find those kinds of books are filled with Mary Sues, degrading women, and just poorly written. But that's just my opinion!

I guess it all depends on which book it's, really. I agree with you, most erotic books are filled with MS, and all that annoying stuff, but there are also some pretty good works on this genre.

Okay, so how about I pick a genre on the first Monday of each month. Nominations will be done that Wednesday and we can close voting that Friday. No muss, no fuss. And if there are ties or everyone votes for their own book, I will just pick one like a big fat jerk. How does that sound?



I will not be nominating books unless we're short nominations, because I am a weenie like that. I don't want to be too involved in the process because it isn't going to be my book club. It'll be ours! I'm just making sure things run smoothly, you know?
