I think that voting system sounds nice to me Elysium, my current library is saturated with Sci-Fi but hopefully this might encourage me to branch out a little bit.

And I wonder if it'd be cool to nominate a couple books that we can find online for free?

I know I have a few bookmarked already as possibilities: Orewell's 1984, A Fault in Our Stars, etc..^_^

I like the idea of the nominating and voting thing. Though I want to throw out there that if we do that, then we are apt to end up with the same genre's of books all the time because the majority will go with books that appeal to them.. which usually will stay the same unless we purposefully set out to branch out.

Example we all tend to like Fantasy (I assume since we are writing ona fantasy site) so I imagine that a good large bit of our books will be fantasy. Which I am totally fine with, but book clubs often are so that we can branch out in different genre's read different authors.

Perhaps each month is a different genre for people to nominate so that we ensure we are really stretching our horizons?

Okay! So how about we pick a genre each time and then nominate books that fall under that heading? I can be the benign genre dictator, if you want. And of course, we'll leave it open, so people can jump in at any time. That way, if someone wants in but doesn't meet the timeframe, they can still scramble to catch up if they like.

And yes, free online books sound lovely.
