The pesky Bird finally took flight, and exited the area as it took the limp corpse with him. However Aerius paid close attention as it took what he assumed to be its meal away, and what was left behind in the wake was what interested the Sorcerer. A single ring descended toward the ground, and while no intruders approached; he did pace forward and lean over to pick it up. The Sorcerer took a closer look at the ring, and attempted to inspect it; perhaps the person was an apprentice at one point in time. He wondered whether or not to put it on, and decided that he should. The Sorcerer slid the ring over his finger, and noticed how it had been illuminated by the mysterious light he nearly forgot about.

The Immortal gazed toward the heavens only to notice that whatever it was had been far closer than it was before. Thus he decided to remain where he was and watch the show as it unfolded; the light had been absolutely beautiful. “Why can we not experience this sort of phenomenon every single time that we look toward the heavens.” He spoke aloud, and continued his search for any sign of enemies that looked to intervene. Although he meant to taunt the bird he did not intend to run it off, and wished that he would have just killed it so that he could research its body.

A sigh exited his lips as he continued to pace forward in search of the next thing that would entertain him. For now he had been far too busy being pestered by the crown-headband hybrid elaborate pattern of ice as it emerged from his skin yet again. All he wished to do was become stronger, but with each and every technique that he practiced he only noticed that more consequences followed his discoveries than actual benefits. However, why would one expect to gain power over elements with the flick of their fingertips without some form of cost?

Many wise tales have said that warning would always come before destruction, and he began to wonder whether or not this flying object would cause such a problem. He was no expert in direction, and certainly not anywhere near decent with astronomy. However, common sense says that when something large is moving toward a location at a rapid pace to get out of the way. Was the beauty of the object meant to be deceiving? Perhaps the object was obviously far larger than he expected it to be, and the one thing he did notice was that the light could have been something more than light. Yet, that was simply the talk of theory, and an unsupported theory is nothing more than a guess.

Aerius lost interest quickly, and started to make his way toward the group rather than wait around for something to happen. He did not like the idea of having to show them his true face, and now all of them would recognize him upon first glance. People had habits of remembering facial features, but if he were approached by any of them beyond Alija; he would likely turn his head in the opposite direction without a second thought.

Aerius, as a Chained One projects an unnatural aura of unease, “wrongness”, Fear, and discomfort. Anyone who happens to be nearby will likely experience one of the feelings above; both people and Animals have a tendency to avoid him under normal circumstances.

Make a Wish

The man she approached, the artist, had a strange staff he held, with an aura that made her skin tingle as she brushed against it. Reaching out mentally, she settled her breathing as the djed inside her rumbled, finding the other aura and latching on tight. Slowly, she loosened her focus on the star and turned it to the staff, taking a moment to explore. The star, after all, wasn't going anywhere, but the staff could be.

The aura blinked and grew, not solid like the aura of a sentient being, but drops of glowing clumps around it, Alija trying to catch one in her vision before it swirled out of sight. Slowly, they began to settle, the aurist finding the way to synchronise her own aura and djed to reach the frequency of the staff's aura.

Magic. Magic clung to it, tight, and the aura glowed, brighter than any normal object before. It had fingerprints all over it, glinting golds and silvers and djed. "Your staff, what is it?" she decided to ask, instead of prying further with her aura sight. She had never heard or seen anything like it. There would be nothing more for her to learn, if she didn't know already.

The man with the staff knew magic, it seemed, and it didn't just cling to the staff. With her mention of the Immortal, he gave a sharp noise, before insulting his reimancy, and Alija's auristics, too. The woman didn't let it bother her, knowing herself that she still had a lot to go, and knowing that magic wasn't everything.

Instead, she returned her focus to the star, trying to see something from it. It was there, and it was much clearer than any star's aura would be, but at the same time, it was difficult to make out. She had found it - she could feel it, and hear it crackling, and taste the metallic taste in her mouth, but she couldn't understand it. And that was the only thing she wanted.

All of sudden, she finally saw something in the aura, something she recognised but was still foreign to her. The dark aura, huddled together tight around the centre of the star, glinted like a metal. A metal! Alija gave a gasp, knowing at once she had something the others didn't - knowledge of metals beyond that of a regular person.

"Metal," she said out loud, speaking her thoughts out loud rather than to a certain individual. Trying to judge the colour, the shine, the strength of the aura, she tried to make it clearer, make it recognisable, as she continued, "Not steel or iron, definitely not. Maybe... No, not gold, silver, bronze." She frowned, struggling to narrow it down further. What could it be? What auras did she know - what auras did she know it wasn't? "I know lead, and copper, and tin. It's none of those either." She'd know, right? They were all auras of things she had worked with, once, things she had studied. It was something else, something much rarer. "I can't recognise it. It's not a common metal at all."

But that only peaked her interest more. It was falling - it seemed that they had all decided that. And if it was falling, it meant it was coming to them, in some sort of way. It meant that it was coming into their reach. It meant she could find it, take the metal, use it. Learn from it. Craft with it. Satisfy her curiosity and her love of blacksmithing.

The other men's work caught her attention, with screams and war cries of birds, and the woman couldn't focus on the star or the thought of metal much longer. The screams were chilling, and she hoped the beast was gone now. She couldn't defend herself from a thorn hare, let along a beast that caused screams like those. With a shudder, she looked over at the men who had the golems with them, wondering if they could explain it a little more.

People started calling out their guesses as to the boy who had screamed, as Alija thought hard, trying to remember if she had seen or heard anyone at any point. Wardens, apprentices... "An intruder?" she asked, remembering the beeping noise. It had sounded like an alarm, of sorts, and it was a guess as good as any. "That would explain... explain why they weren't careful."

Her eyes shifted back to the figure who had fought the bird, who was making his way back up towards them. Finally. Other than scare off the bird - and with bad reimancy, if the artist was to be believed - he seemed the most useless there. The most separate. "Did you see anything?" she swallowed hard, directing her question at him as forcefully as possible. That was, not very forcefully at all, but it was less timid than her usual questions. He had been up close with a beast like the one in the recording - maybe he had seen something more than just a bird.

Clyde let out another snort of derision at the not nuit, who managed to not only fail at fighting the beast, but managed to scare it off. Whatever it had carried off was gone, which meant they'd learn nothing more from that.

His poor Reimancy tactics, tied with the end result, seemed a good enough reason to Clyde to further deride the mage.

But that would require a level of caring he didn't have for the not nuit, and so he simply ignored him to focus on more important things.

Things like the aura of the not star, which was blooming in his sight.

Clyde had a small amount of experience with metal, having taken a few lessons in working with the substance, and had examined far more items with Auristics before Magecrafting them. Because of this he knew a few metals, some better than others. He knew the aura of Isurian steel quite well, with common steel and cold iron also known to a degree.

However he wasn't a specialist in working with metal like Alajia and so he didn't see or know as much directly from the aura as she did in regards to its substance. He could tell its hardness, feel the ring as his aura struck it and it hummed back at him, and sense its steadfast nature as it fell from the sky.

The light emanating from it was also noticeable, something that drew his interest and made him wonder on its workings.

So focused on the aura was he that he didn't pay much attention to the workings with the golems, nor did he at first notice the aura pressing upon Cha in his hand.

One moment his main focus was on the not star that was falling, the next he noticed a pressure on his person, and sensed the touch of the Aurist upon Cha in his hand.

He noticed the touch more or less at the same time as the Aurist announced her perusing of the staff, questioning him on its provenance.

Jerking his main focus away from the star to focus on the Aurist, keeping a single strand of aura sight on it to maintain contact and not lose his place in diving into its aura, Clyde glared at the woman.

“My staff is mine, that's what!”

His mind was less focused on her next words, noting that the not star was made of metal, and not made of many different ones she proceeded to list off. Instead by then his attention had switched to Cha and her aura.

He'd suppressed his own aura, but he'd not considered Cha. It was at that moment a odd thought occurred to him, one he'd not had before. If he could mold and shape, even suppress his own aura, and if he could reach out and touch other auras through similar means, why couldn't he also mold Cha's aura?

Why not? Both worked with Auristics, so if it could be done with one why not the other?

Reaching out a thick tendril of aura sight, Clyde hooked it around Cha, feeling as the edges of it came into contact with the edges of her aura.

He could see the aura thickly in the air and upon his skin. He knew Cha so intimately, had spent so much time with her, spent so much time understanding her, that it took little time to get a good grip on her aura.

Imitating the action he'd done earlier, hooking his aura tendril around his own aura and pulling it in, he tried to imitate the same action with Cha's aura.

At first nothing happened, his aura sight simply slipping through. Only as he focused deeper, letting a bit of the aura sight seep into Cha's, soaking into her, did he feel the connect. Then with a pull, a willing of suppression, he pulled in Cha's aura, suppressing it as he'd done his own. When he looked at it he could at once see three things. Nothing, the tendril of his aura sight, and the perturbation in the "air" in the spot that Cha's aura should lie.

That subtle perturbation was something he could barely see even with all his skill, and that was with him knowing exactly where to look.

Cha, a distinct item and thing separate from his own aura, had its aura suppressed. Upon his success a smile came across Clyde's lips, as a number of ideas quickly buzzed and tumbled about in his head.

By the time Clyde was done, letting out an audible “Ha!” time had passed, and the not nuit had come upon them.

Turning back to the Aurist with the same smile, watched her face for a moment.

“I'll forgive you this once, because I learned something.”

A playful tone coming to his voice, Clyde continued on, having forgotten about the not star that was falling in his enjoyment of the moment.

“And if you must know, her name is Cha. You can take another look at her aura if you wish.”

He spoke as if telling a joke, but without making it clear what the punchline was.

Cha's name, that of the blue wooden staff in Clyde's hand, would mean something more to anyone nearby who spoke the Ancient Tongue which on Sahova was a much more common language.

I am actually in RL a super intelligent hamster from Rhode Island, with a 7 year plan to take over the world.

Update 6/2/18- 1:10AM EST: His 7 year plan a success, and several weeks ahead of schedule, Clyde leaves to oversee the world he has taken over.

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Graders note: :
Please be aware Clyde is a master Magecrafter. He therefore should not be gaining full xp(or possibly shouldn't gain any at all) for simple tasks related to this magic, such as low level MC items, particularly for repetitions of creations he has done before. Feel free to contact me if unsure of a instance of his magic use compared to his skill level.

"You can come with us," Farke, a man with a tall and burly semblance. Benare figured he would be a good man to trust, the Nitrozian assumed that the man seemed to be quite important on this God forsaken island. Maybe Benare could earn some affiliation with this man. Hopefully... and maybe his father would be proud of the relations that Benare has with other cities. Perhaps... Benare should make that a personal goal. So that his father wouldn't be so suspicious of him in the long run. No matter, his father isn't here to keep an eye on him anymore, he's alone for the most part. Benare looked over to Damien, he shrugged with contempt look on his face. Damien nodded and followed the Nitrozian, as he had nothing better to do with his spare time. Plus, with all of this happening; he wouldn't want to miss it.

"Sure,"Benare said to Farke and followed the group further down the dock. There were some mini figurine looking creatures that were handed to the taller man. Farke handed one of the smaller golem looking creatures to Benare.

"Take this one." Benare graciously took hold of the mini golem. He inspected it and waited for the other golems. "You're next." Benare raised a brow, he watched the others open their golems and he did the same/similar motion and the golem clicked, like a locked door being unlocked. It screeched; like the other ones. It pierced Benares ears as he held the golem and cringed a bit, Damien shrunk some, as he felt slightly uncomfortable.

"One of the wardens, I'd guess."

Benare was confused; one of the wardens, what did they do? Though, Benare didn't know what he should do, he wanted to ask, but he didn't want to feel like a pest. "Do you have any idea of which wardens we have currently? I haven't tried to keep track of those initiates for a few hundred of years." Benare was confused, he didn't know many, to be honest, none of them.

"I won't be much of help, I barely know this island..."The Nitrozian shrugged. He hadn't paid much attention to Clyde and Alija as they've talked about his staff and what not. "Do you need assistance, I can investigate..."

OOCThis will likely be my last full post before grading and dishing out related lores so that you guys can use them during the spring plotlines. If anyone has specific requests that they feel may not be obvious, please go ahead and send me a PM. That being said, I will try to be very thorough.

Farke rose from his place. "An Apprentice?" He asked. It was the smart slave's suggestion, and as much as he hated taking it, it made sense.

"You're right." He acknowledged her begrudgingly. "The Wardens are stronger than that. It must've been some young, foolish Pulser. Dira take him." Though 'Dira take him' was traditionally a sign of respect for the dead, it felt meaningless from the stoic Nuit's mouth. Farke drug a hand down his face, stretching the skin in an exhausted motion, but really it was closer to a sign of boredom.

"I should go report our findings to the rest of the Council." He told them with a sigh. He glanced at each face in turn, trying to commit them to memory just in case one didn't show to report. Sadly, he was no good at faces. "I will need your names." He decided. "And I expect either a letter or in-person report from each of you. Rather quickly, if you would." The speed was not a suggestion, despite the wording. He would not chase them down until at least a season later, as Nuit time was slower than Pulser time, but Sahova needed the reports for their records eventually.

"Yes," He mused aloud, "A testimony, a transcription of the Watch Golems, and those sketches, too, Clyde; give the original copy to the Council. I promise I will see to it that the Council rewards you once they receive the necessary materials." He added. Of anything he said, this could be believed. Nuits held promises- especially those in such high positions- even if it took eternity to fulfill them.

OOCFeel free to make a last post, either summarizing and returning to the Citadel, or handing Farke any records. You can testify in the new season as well, if you wish to make it its own thread. It's been a pleasure, all, and I hope to thread with you next season.

Postby Sayana on March 4th, 2017, 3:37 pm

A metal… and a metal that Alija had never encountered. Sayana mused over the thought of a star being comprised of metal. She recognized most of the metals that the woman listed. But some like lead and tin were unfamiliar. Sayana smiled briefly at Clyde’s antics. She knew he was secretive and also that he didn’t like magic, any type of magic, used upon him or his property. Of course Cha was with him, though she was surprised that Rye was not.

The Eypharian looked up as the reimancer, whoever had been playing with the bird, approached the group. A sudden chill came over her quickly followed by an uncomfortable feeling of dislike and even loathing. She instinctively tried to reach for her hypnotism but then remembered she was in the vicinity of two trained aurists, plus Farke and anyone else who may or may not be able to detect magic. She’d have to tough it out, but it didn’t stop her from staring intently at the perceived source, the reimancer.

Farke’s announcement drew her attention back to the situation at hand. She took another glance at the star and imagined what it would take to investigate it further. Just how far was it? Clearly it wasn’t going to land on Sahova. But would it plummet into the sea? Or scar the land? Or was it merely just a trick of the eye, soon to disappear into the skies above just like all other stars?

To the nuit in charge she spoke, “My name is Sayana and I will provide a report and a verbal testimony of what I have seen tonight. I will stay and observe until no further information can be obtained.”

Her words were spoken to convey a sense of high competence, though all she really meant was she would watch until the star could no longer be seen. From there, she would make herself comfortable and continue to watch the display in the sky. Purple, blue and white… how did a star get to be such colours? Every so often she would make mental notes on the speed it seemed to be descending until eventually it dipped below the horizon. There was no sound of impact, so either it was too far to be heard or maybe it was still falling…

The Eypharian long deliberated over the streak in the sky even after it was gone. She had noted quite carefully the direction it was in comparison to Sahova, and also the direction it was going even after she could no longer see it. But what troubled her was that she had been unable to determine how far away it had been. Was it in Mura, Nyka, or Ravok? Was it farther? Or did it fall short into the deep outer seas? She hoped it had fallen on land, but the vast ocean view with no land in sight was deceptive and pulled at her to believe otherwise.

----

The next morning Sayana prepared her report and what she was going to say in the testimony. Having stayed up most of the night watching the display, she hadn’t gotten any sleep and was frankly too alert and intrigued for any rest. The written part was painful, but she managed to finish it with only a draft and a final copy using pages from her blank notebook. By the afternoon, she appeared in the Citadel to give her statement to Farke.

“The star was abnormal due to its colouration, movement, and steady growing in size. Unlike other white stars, this one had purples and blues in its colouration. Before arriving at the harbor, it must have been moving more slowly, or less noticeably. But upon observing it, it was clearly moving in a northward direction especially when I gazed westward to watch its path. It is quite possible that due to the angle of the path, it may have appeared to be moving more slowly when approaching Sahova from the south, due to looking at it dead-on like looking at a galloping horse running towards you. But after it had begun to pass Sahova, the northward direction was clear and it appeared to speed up.

At this point, it also became clear that it was descending towards the horizon and also growing larger. It is difficult to determine how far away it was, but I have noted the subtly changing speeds at different points in its path. These are based off a field of view that is one arm’s length away and how the star travels across a circular field of vision about an inch wide. Included are the measurements I took at different points during its travel.”

She handed the nuit a piece of paper with numbers and brief descriptions, as well as what she thought the angle of descent had been. Now, she held out a second piece of paper. “These are my humble recommendations if Sahova would like to investigate the star.”

For the investigation of the fallen star one would consider the following benefits. Material gains from the metal, new research posibilities from a unique metal type, potential magical abilities for the use of crafted objects, and other magical or religious phenonon that might result in the landing of this star.

I implore you to investigate swiftly and organize many hands to arrange for the transportation of such materials. Sea vessals, carts and golems could be used for transport and it would take a team of at least 20 people to retreive the metal. Alternatavely a small swift group could steak out the location of the fallen star while a larger group makes the necessary preparations to transport it. This small group would require wilderness skills, tracking and riding along with a strong auraist and reimancer to locate and manipulate the star once found. There may be dangers from creatures and others who are tracking the star so strong combat skills would be required.

For the greater glory of Sahova and it’s quest for knowledge, I would graciously accept in leading this venture.

Clearly, the wizard didn't want to speak about his staff. He was blunt, and rather rude, and left nothing to be discovered. Clearly, it was something he didn't want to discuss. And as much as it interested her, it wasn't the time or place to be nosy and focus on that instead. Besides, he looked like a capable mage who could make her sorry for putting her nose into other people's business.

Finally, he gave a laugh, and told her he forgave her. This once. He had learned something.
She knew better than to ask what he had learned.
He gave her a gender, and a name, and called her Cha, and it seemed like the staff wasn't just a staff. What it was, she didn't know, but he allowed her to look again.

She wasn't stupid. He clearly didn't want her to look - she just didn't know whether it was a trap, or a test, or both. Turning away from him, she showed her annoyance, refusing to bother taking a look. "I'll respect your - her? - privacy," she stated simply, as if it was just that. Not that she didn't want to be the punchline of the joke he seemed to be telling.

Instead, she focused her attention on the other man, who began to offer his assistance. "We're observing the star - if there is anything important you want to get down, you should. I think Sayana has written some things down. I'd check with her - all we've done is auristics, I think." That was, mainly, what she had done. Maybe Clyde had done so much more - or would pretend to, anyway. That seemed like him, even though she didn't even know him.

Finally, the man in charge spoke, telling them what they needed to do. Names, letters, testimony, records. All things to help them keep track of what they learned - perhaps for when they found the star. That was what they would do, right? The metal in it, whatever it was, had tasting good on her lips and its aura was hard, a solid aura with little movement or mist. One that resembled a good metal.

She didn't care how greedy she sounded - she wanted it.

Turning to the nuit, she followed Sayana, aware she sounded a lot less formal. "I am Alija Piper, apprentice to Arios. I will report all my observations - mostly through auristics - on a letter that I will write as soon as I finish here."

Then she stayed, staring at the sky, at the star, and watching with auristics, until she couldn't keep the magic up any more, then with normal sight, until the streak finally disappeared from sight.

Then she returned to her broom closet of a room, and she wrote, scribbling everything she thought as relevant down on the blank page from her notebook. Everything, and even then it was nothing.

But she was too tired to think, or even be curious any more, and she didn't even say to give a verbal report. Just the letter, then to sleep. It was all she could manage, but hopefully, it was enough.

On the night of the 81st Winter 516:
On beach, near port, late at night (unsure of time), when first caught sight of the star. Its colouration was the first unusual thing I noticed - not white, but blues and purples that formed the light that came from it. It grew brighter, at a rate that was clearly visible from simply observing the star.
At the same time as noticing the star, beeping from sever nearby golems began which brought me to the port. This was due to an intruder - who or what remains unknown to me.
Additionally, there appeared to be a large bird like creature carrying something with it near the port, although I was unable to get a closer look. I am uncertain whether these events have any relation with the star.
As well as visibly growing to almost fill the sky, the star was clearly descending towards the horizon, where it supposedly fell towards the end of the night.
The aura of the star felt fairly unnatural and unfamiliar, yet it was clearly a metal. From my experience as a blacksmith and my recent study into various metals, I have managed to identify as NOT any of the following metals:
Gold
Iron
Steel
Silver
Bronze
Lead
Copper
Tin
(Further notes taken at the time about the star are also attached)
This has lead me to believe it is a much rarer metal, therefore a valuable interest which the Council should consider attempting to retrieve the metal. A rare and valuable metal like the one that forms the star (especially one with an aura that is clearly visible despite great distance) would have many significant gains, both with research into the material and tools that can be constructed with it.
I recommend a team be sent as soon as possible to retrieve the metal, then for an individual who is knowledgeable about metals and capable of studying it to investigate it further to identify it. For the good of Sahova, and in its interest of gaining knowledge, I would like to put myself forward as a contender for this position, due to my high skill in both blacksmithing and auristics, as well as any current or future work on metals, which I am willing to share with the Council if they are interested. Whatever this material is, it is clearly one that is very rare and possibly even magically potent.

True, half of that was just her trying to get the metal.
But then again, she was feeling greedy and tired. What else did they expect her to say?

Clyde was a bit disappointed when the aurist didn't try to look at Cha again. While it was somewhat of a playful joke, it was also a somewhat freely given lesson Clyde offered which she had turned down. At times knowing something was possible was in and of itself knowledge, and knowing that an aura could be suppressed was in and of itself something to learn.

Once the nights events were over, Clyde headed back to the citadel and down deep underground to his lab. The next day he would stop by to see Farke, as he knew him, and give him the drawings along with his report.

Seeing as Farke himself had been there he focused on things he felt important, things that weren't obvious, and didn't go over everything in painful detail in other areas.

His main parts to report where that it clearly wasn't a star (as he'd felt its aura and it had fallen from the sky), that is had a large albeit not powerful or dense aura(unlike for instance the mouthless beast he'd fought with an overpowering one) which he'd been able to sense from afar,

Once he was done making his report Clyde made it clear he was interested in going after the not star if such an endeavor was to take place, and left his connections/position/power to work out the rest.

Make a Wish

That was that, the woman that Benare met that night when Jeb and Jill went missing, had stated that that star wasn't made of any metals. How could that be, didn't the Galaxy have world's made up of materials, like Mizahar? Could it be possible of there being any other signs of life past their very own atmosphere? Benare thought about what shot down from the sky above. Perhaps somebody had maybe launched something too big into the sky... but, the star wasn't made of any common material, any thought of it being made from Mizahar, it wouldn't have even been made from Mizahar. Benare questioned the object, and he quickly grew stubborn about it, as it made no moral sense as to what it could be. If it can't be made of any common materials found on Mizahar, then what other materials could that star be made up of?

Benare frowned as he realized that thinking about it too much would make him grow obsessed about searching the mysteries behind that said fallen 'star' if it could even be called that.

The Nitrozian returned the mini golem, and used that spare time to relax as everything around him seemed to slow down, he hadn't noticed Damien as he was just looking at him plainly. The mercenary shrugged as he didn't want to be bothered with the blonde man.

The next day, Benare and Damien both have their reports of their experience. Albeit, they've kept out the portion of their job when they were really looking for someone; someone who could either pose as a threat to the Crescent Circle, or someone who could be of help to the Crescent Circle. The two Ravokians didn't want any trouble with the Sahovan leaders. Anyways, why would anyone want to mess with two newcomers who would barely have any clue of what even happens in this island in the first place?

Make a Wish

Aerius was determined to find out more about the entity in the sky, but he grew disinterested within ticks. He did not bother to answer any questions, and simply decided that he would share the information he managed to gather at a later point in time. After all to share everything one knew in a day was to be a fool. He wanted to do far more personal research before he gave up the information. Why was it there, and why did it pass through so closely to Sahova? There were a multitude of questions he had that simply went unanswered. An old folktale mentioned that if someone made a wish as a star passed through the heavens that it would come true.

If The Immortal could wish for anything at that very moment; it would have been for something invaluable. What Aerius truly wanted was to become more knowledgeable, and learn what the purpose of him being bound to this body for so long was. Yet, he did not waste his time on foolish wishes; he departed much like several other members of the group. Upon his return to the citadel he began the process of writing a report to give back to the council. Yet, due to the fact that he had not witnessed much the report would be somewhat-detailed and flawed simultaneously.

The most that he knew about the event was that the soaring entity passed nearby, and a brilliant display of colors provided a large amount of light to the area. It appeared to pass over Sahova and into another area; not to mention it was apparently made of some material that he knew nothing of. Aerius found a ring, and put it on his finger as the corpse was taken away by the large Avian he taunted. He had been the only one to go in search of intruders, but there were none to be found. The only remotely interesting thing was that someone managed to die and become food for a scavenger. Aerius returned to his quarters and prepared to deliver his statement during the next season.

Aerius, as a Chained One projects an unnatural aura of unease, “wrongness”, Fear, and discomfort. Anyone who happens to be nearby will likely experience one of the feelings above; both people and Animals have a tendency to avoid him under normal circumstances.
