68th of Spring, 512 AV

Ezra grunted as he landed on the wooden planks of the dock. He had been traveling for far too long, and just the feel of solid ground, or more accurately, wood under his feet was comforting to say the very least.
Zip followed behind him, leaping from the boat with a bark of happiness. If it was possible the Jivatalus Ghost Dog had had a worse time of it than Ezra himself.
With the barest twitch of a smile Ezra turned and swept his eyes over the city and his new home.

[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Casper on May 31st, 2012, 11:17 pm

87th of Spring, 512 AV

Just as unpleasantly humid as the Sunberthian coast, Casper woke drowsily from the nap he had taken aboard the ship. As he walked onto the deck, he could see that the boat had just arrived into the bay, the sound of sailors shouting about him as they prepared to dock it. He could already tell before setting foot on land that the city seemed quite the opposite of Sunberth. For starters, the buildings were well maintained, the streets were clean, and the people... Well, the people didn't look like the type to stab him in the back. Or they were just better at hiding it.

Walking onto the pier, getting a closer look at the citizens of the reputable city of Zeltiva, Casper wondered how long he'd be stuck here. He could feel already that he didn't belong in this city. Then again, he felt that way about everywhere.

1st of Summer, 512AV
Ira had never been on a boat before, in fact, she had never once even swum or done anything with water save for bathe in it or drink it. And after watching it for the days it took to reach port she realized something very important. She was terrified of the water and the motion of ships gave her a woozy feeling that threatened to up-chuck foods she hadn’t even eaten!

Swallowing her bile she couldn’t help a relieved smile as she looked up from her position on her cot. Through the little window she could see a wooden pier. Land and something solid. Standing up swiftly she muttered a few curses as a wave of nausea overwhelmed her and sent her to her knees. It took two of the crew to help her back on her feet and gather her belongings.

She gave them no thanks as she was dropped on the wooden planks, nearly toppling over into the water at the sudden stop of constant motion. Of course, after being with her for the few days they had it was no surprise that they did not even expect thanks, only gave a swift farewell. She had that effect on people.

Allowing herself a few moments of reprieve and trying not to fall off the pier she carefully gathered her belongings and began to drag them across the pier. Something told her this city would not exactly welcome her heritage but she needed work and this city most likely had some. After Spring every city did but she would rather be here than Ravok.

Nodding to herself and regretting the motion she continued her trek and searched for a building to tell her where she was to gain residence.

[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Adnaj on June 2nd, 2012, 7:42 pm

2nd of Summer 506 AV

A great sense of excitement washed over Adnaj as the ship, on which he had been traveling, approached the port of Zeltiva. He had been able to see the tall, reaching towers of Zeltiva University for several minutes now.

He knew that it would be years (if ever) before he, a Nuit, would be permitted to study there. Yet that fact didn't matter at this moment. For now, Adnaj could only process his sentiments of determination and excitement.

He had tried to study at Sahova but there was nothing, there, for him. He was able to assemble a competent enough medical education, from Sahova's library. He even learned enough to practice on some of the wizards who decided to visit the island. Unfortunately, he hadn't learned enough. There wasn't enough, regarding medicine and healing, to satisfy Adnaj's passion and professional curiosity. He didn't want to "study" medicine and healing...He wanted to heal. And he wanted to be damn good at healing.

Once it had become abundantly clear that Sahova had done, for him, all that it could, Adnaj prepared his things and set out for the hub of knowledge and academia that was Zeltiva.

Adnaj was more than just slightly intimidated at the concept of relocating to a city full of the living. He understood how Nuits were perceived. Hell, he had witnessed a great deal of events and had met a great deal of Nuits which justified those perceptions. But that really wasn't the truth was it? He couldn't afford to believe otherwise. Not now, as he set off to earn the respect of the living.

There was no room, in Adnaj's heart, for apathy. Not today, anyway. Today any space within that dark, lifeless chamber was taken up by excitement and a burning motivation.

When the ship finally inched to a stop and the walkway was prepared, Adnaj took his first frightening steps toward the dynamic, bustling metropolis of Zeltiva. His first objective? Consult local libraries, attempt dialogue with local physicians, herbalists and healers. Essentially, Adnaj sought out to learn everything that he could (outside of a proper University education) about caring for the living. After that: Find a way to make his clinic a reality.

[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Nienem Glass on June 4th, 2012, 8:46 pm

Summer, 16th, 512 AV

Nienem Glass let the wind caress his thin wings as he fluttered slightly higher. He was taking advantage of the breeze rolling landward to make the last leg of his journey to Zeltiva. It had been a long journey, and he'd been forced to follow the coastline for part of his journey to save his mandolin strings from the wet.

His journey could have been easier if he'd gone from Abura to Darva to Lisnar, then to Zeltiva, but no one was too keen to go near Darva nowadays. Rumors were than the Valterrian had raised a huge number of mutants, worse than anything else it had ever created. Being a product of the Valterrian themselves, the Akvatari didn't share quite the level of superstition that others had about the island, but they still avoided it at all costs.

Tilting his wings to take him downward, Glass touched the surface of the water, skidding gently over the surface and flapping a few more times to make sure his tail cleared the edge of the docks and setting down on the ground for a moment to rest his wings.

"I wonder who I'll find here..." he said, reaching into his backpack to take his mandolin out. Once it was out, his wings fluttered once more and he flew toward the center of the city, strumming a chord or two on the mandolin.

The 8th Day of Summer, 510 AV

"Ahhh!" Talulah yelled and flailed as she fell off her horse and landed on the ground with a grunt. Jewel trotted a few more steps and looked back at her with a snort, almost seeming to roll her eyes. Talulah rubbed her head and smiled sheepishly as she stood up and remounted the Strider. "Hey I'm tired ok?" she said to Jewel. "I was up all night cause I thought I heard wolves." Jewel just shook her head and continued on as Talulah undid her braid.

As she finally shook out her hair, she spotted the narrow pass that would take her to Zeltiva. "Come on Jewel, full speed!" She encouraged and wrapped her arms around the horse's neck as she broke into a gallop. As the rode through the mountain pass, they didn't slow down at all, startling people as Talulah whooped and pumped her fist in the air.

[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Letosfer Celshield on June 5th, 2012, 11:10 pm

The 1st Day of Summer, 510 AV
It was a long and boring day through the rocky hills, sometimes a caravan was passing by, but not much conversation was considered needed by either side. The sun was shining and keeping the atmosphere warm, yet some fresh breeze blew from time to time.
a
After hours of riding his Avanthalian sleigh horse, Andeyla, he had to get off as the horse was getting tired. Letosfer now was walking next to Andeyla kolding the reins in his left hand, when he noticed the path he had heard of, from the traders. "Go t' Zelti(f)a , Ya'll find home" one of the traders said, after that they kept mumbling about which beer is better and what beer they have drunk all they life and epic stories about how they survived 24 beers at once, funny guys~~
a
The Mirahil pass! It wasn't what he had expected but either way it was big and somehow glorious, or maybe he wanted it to seem glorious. He stood there for a moment staring at the pass and drifting away in his thoughts. He didn't notice the sound of heavily loaded caravan cracking small fallen branches, neither the squeeking sound of the wheels. "Heyooo don't stand there friend or you'll get hit and then what? hehe tomato juice" this sudden text shook Letosfer's attention a little and he stepped aside for the caravan to pass.
a
Yes the first step in Zeltiva! "Great things await me here!" tried to convince himself as he made more steps towards the city!

[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Hadrian on June 17th, 2012, 8:05 pm

31st Summer, 512 A.V.

"Zeltiva," he said quietly, "at long last."

Their ship from Sunberth had made surprising speed, the captain being favored by Zulrav, the winds were ever in their favor. Seeing this, Hadrian had made the decision to be more inclusive in his ritual prayers. Since leaving Avanthal over a season ago, he had spent most of his days on ships, and where he usually walked to clear his head, the ships were only so big. And so he spent many an hour leaned over the rail of one ship or another, dropping his thoughts into the sea for Laviku to collect and hold if he would have them.

It seemed appropriate since he had wanted Fire when he paid Zan to initiate him in reimancy, but he had got Water instead, and over the years of practice, Earth and Air had come to him, but Fire remained yet out of reach.

He would begin to pray to Semele, then. Makutsi and Zulrav, she the bridge between Water and Air, her Water falling often from the Air.

Then he touched the Lormar symbol on the back of his left hand, feeling a sense of gratification as the storm had blown away the block on his memory and now he knew Eyris was not ignoring him, that perhaps, just perhaps, he was on the path of Wisdom.

"It cannot be found by seeking," he reminded himself in a murmur, and he hoped Eyris was listening, "yet only seekers find it." He was always seeking, and few understood his seeking. Caelum being the only one who came to mind. The rest thought him merely curious, or avaricious, but he disdained power except that it opened doors through which he wanted to walk. He had no great desire to rule men, nor keep them under his thumb. Even his hypnotism was mostly used to prevent violence, or nudge people into trusting him with what knowledge they held. Morally suspect by some moral compasses, perhaps, but hardly an abuse by his own code.

He wondered too at Ionu's silence. He had been working illusions where necessary, working on his control though the most important ingredient -- aside from the gnosis itself -- seemed to be imagination, and he had that in spades. And those dreams... was the Dreamlord trying to speak to him?

"All ashore that's going ashore!" yelled the ship's mate, and Hadrian came back to himself. Those traveling with him glanced askance, and he stepped into the leadership role he didn't really want.

The group had changed somewhat since it set out from Syliras a year previous. Kendall and Ethan remained, but Cathan and Sondra were gone, replaced for the time being with Xnnn and Aurrealis, Lucas and memories. They all had their luggage, light enough they needed no help from the stevedores.

"I'll show you to my cottage," he told them. "It will be tight, but we will make it work until everything's figured out. As soon as we're settled, I'm going to the University to talk to my mentor."

With a faint smile, he started across the gangplank.

"Welcome to Zeltiva."

[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Noaru on June 18th, 2012, 5:51 am

31st Summer, 512 A.V.

* A spirit accompanied by silence and loneliness, traveled through the narrow mountain pass: a journey that would have cost most their lives probably: if they were careless, and leaving some mildly fatigued but due to his ''saddened- pathetic state'' he was able to clear plenty of ground without rest during the past lost days of his and the countless stalking of travelers but he eventually made it through the Mirahil pass and approached the city of Zeltiva.

........

The spirit moved with much haste-- yet silently gracefully moving through his environment and then a feeling of excitement washed over him, he could literally feel the bustling city ''excitement'' rushing past him like a raging torrent, only momentarily giving a sense of life back to his ever moving soul.

I wonder what its like up ahead, many humans spoke of this place ''Zeltiva''. I haven't heard of this place before: maybe I can take a detour for once and get to socializing with some who can hear my voice!

Noaru enters the city with a satisfied grin, knowing that he could possibly have some fun despite the awesome yet slightly gloomy name of ''Deaths Whisper'' bestowed upon him by other ghosts disturbed by his appearance; Noaru enters the city in an epic yet slightly comical slow motion waltz, as if moving to some theme.

[Zeltiva Entrance] The Rolling Waves

Postby Leondero on June 18th, 2012, 9:37 pm

The Journey was long, but Leondero finally arrived at his first Destination on his list of cities to visit. "Zeltiva..." He whispered. In his letters, Jacob had told him that this city was known for its scholars and seafaring. Leon wasn't much of a fisherman (and he was far from a scholar), but he couldn't pass up the chance to see a real port city before continuing on the rest of his quest. Not only that, He’ll get to see his brother, Jacob, who was currently working in the city aboard a fisherman’s vessel.

To think that only a month ago he thought his future was set as a Fletcher’s son. But now here he was, off on his own exploring the world, with his father’s blessing! He never would of expected to gain such an honor, after all he was the only child to show any skill at making bows. Not only did he receive his blessing though, but his father had also made him his very own bow. Sure it was a cheap little thing and it was rather small for his size, but his father had hand crafted it himself and to him, it was priceless.

Despite this joy, he’d still find himself reflecting on everything he lost. His mother’s pies, his father’s smile as he’d complete a perfect bow, the twins running around like mad men, and of course, his routine arguments with Matilda. "I wonder what they are doing right now?" He’d find himself ask when his thoughts turned to them, which was every night as he stared at the tent tarp during the nights. For the first few nights, he found it was difficult to sleep. But after a week he became accustomed to the road and sleeping on the ground. It felt natural to him. It’ll be strange to return to civilized life. But as he approaches the city gates, he anticipates the experience he’ll have in the port city.
