[justify]The docks had been eerily quiet for days. No ships had come in, nor had any gone out. The animals that haunted the waters were silent, and no one had drowned in nearly a season. It may have raised the brow of someone on edge in the land of the undead, but all this was unsuspicious to the sailors of the Sahovan docks.

In fact, they rather enjoyed being able to hear the steady creaking of the golems' great stone bones, and the clicking and whirring of the mechanics of the Citadel. Many of them had grown up with these sounds, and so it was a reminder of home, or rather, as close as they could get. As it was so comforting, several of the sailors had fallen asleep, or taken up games of cards, giving their trust to the golems.

One man in particular, though, was not so trusting. Though he couldn't know what exactly would come of the silence and stillness of the docks, he did know that something would come of it.

Bull, as he had been called, was a hulk of man. He may not have seemed intimidating to anyone who passed through, with a wiry beard of hair and aging spots splattering his skin, but all who knew him knew also the damage he could do with just a broken bottle and a butter knife. Bull was not a man to let his guard down, and especially not on nights like these.

He rocked back and forth on his feet, a calm façade to what was ultimately a ready stance. He was passively whistling an old tune even he could not place as he made his way to the end of one of the docks. He stopped there to look up at the stars which were slowly but surely appearing through the sky's dark outline. One star in particular caught his eye; it was faint, but through the distance he could tell that it held not only white, but blues and purples in its shine.

Bull altered his tune, taking the music down another avenue where it changed keys and whispered of things to come and to fall. It was more minor, and it passed the time peacefully as the stars grew stronger and stronger. By the time Leth was high, his favorite star of the night was still resting on the horizon where it had started, still growing. Its color grew more vibrant, wider, and stronger. Piece by piece, it began to fill the night sky. Bull's tune faded, replaced by a hasty call in Fratava to his shipmate.

"Aye, does that look like its getting bigger to you?"

Whatever the response was was interrupted by the insistant, monotone beeping of golems all along the docks.

The sound was impossible to ignore. Men playing cards dropped them onto the ground. Sleeping men jumped to their feet, shoes and hats flying off in their hurry. Bull paid attention to none of it. He was busy listening carefully to the cacophony and trying to detect what the golems were saying. Finally, he was able to make out among the mess of noise that there was only ever one tone, and he could see on the worried faces of his companions that they had come to the same conclusion.

One beep. Intruders.

Night was not a time to be wandering the woods of Sahova. Especially not alone.

Sayana stepped carefully through the dense underbrush using her now adjusted eyes to spot paths through the forested terrain. Even as she walked slowly, trying to avoid the unseen tree root, her eyes darted about in case a nocturnal predator were to appear. Being armed to the teeth with six daggers in her hands helped, but she was still on high alert as she sought out the elusive fungus.

Riyanna had told her that some wizard was looking for a fungus by the name of Drimik. Apparently it was quite common and easy to spot at night due to its glowing nature. But after two bells of searching the Eypharian was starting to have her doubts. A prickle on the back of her neck caused her to turn swiftly in the darkness, but false alarm only caused her black robe to get tangled in a thicket. Once free, Sayana continued onwards to where the forest seemed to be thinning slightly, glad she chosen to wear slacks instead of her dress tonight.

To the left, however, there was something greenish nestled upon one of the tree branches. Green where everything else was dark… With a jolt of surprise she realized that it was actually glowing green, a colour she had certainly not expected in her search. With sudden eagerness she made her way to the glowing fungus and swiftly used her dagger to cut off a large chunk of the specimen. Just as she finished up, she realized that she had reached the edge of the forest. The reason being, was that a cliff protruded out from the vegetation and her eyes were met with a vast and scenic view of the ocean and beach below.

For several ticks she just stared out into the night where the sky met the expansive ocean. Leth hung high in the sky providing an illuminating glow across the landscape and water below. She then remembered the fungus in her hand and took the time to tuck away into her backpack. Sayana could even see the Sahovan docks from her vantage point. So small and peaceful looking and she was reminded of the day she had arrived on the island. At first the silence had unnerved her, but now she had grown accustomed to the quiet of the island, in part due to how few people inhabited it.

Sayana turned her gaze once more to the sky and the hundreds and thousands of stars that filled it. The northern stars still looked wrong to her southern eyes but it was only after gazing for about a chime that she saw something else that was peculiar. It was a star that wasn’t just the same white as all the others but it seemed to have different colours to it. Blues, purples… but not green like her fungus.

However, when she looked back down at the docks, it now looked completely different from before. It was as if it was an ant hill that had been kicked. The people below were up and about. The weird mechanical things were moving just as much. Just as she was trying to decide whether or not she wanted to investigate the busy scene below, a single beep could be heard quite a bit closer to where she stood.

Turning to the sound, she spotted one of the small rodent-like machines several feet down on a ledge of the cliff. Well, if the little rolling machine could get all the way up there, then surely there was a path to get down. Tapping the place where she stored her climbing resin in her robe, she was reassured that she still had some before swinging her legs over the side of the cliff to the ledge below.

With a mix of handholds, footholds, and ledges Sayana climbed her way down. Some places she had to jump several feet and she started to wonder how the little machine had accomplished it. At last her boots hit soft sand and she approached the busy dock. Even though she wasn’t trying to remain hidden, her footfalls were muted by the sand and her black robe did little to announce her presence.

To one of the nearer sailors who seemed less busy than the rest, she spoke up in a clear voice. “What’s all the chaos? Has something gone awry?”

Little did she know that the single beep of the golems meant “intruder”, and whether that meant herself or something else, was yet to be seen.

OOCDue to her long climb down, she may be arriving later than other PCs

The night was beautiful, and oddly so on this particular night. Aerius typically did not bother to travel the island during nightfall. However something disturbed him tonight, and managed to draw his attention away from his studies. Something bright sailed across the heavens at a distance, and Aerius fixated his gaze upon it; in order to attempt tracking it's movement but he could not. The Immortal lost sight of it after a few ticks, and chose to go forward so that he could find it. However, he heard a familiar sound as he trekked through the forest alone; a single beep. He could not recall what that meant despite the fact that he had spent centuries on the island. The Immortal managed to notice several other individuals in the nearby area, and his jaw clenched for a moment. A chill ran down his spine in an instant; he came to a grim revelation. One beep meant that there were intruders present on the island, and he would not be surprised if several other golems would soon arrive on the scene. Aerius paused several times between his movement through the forest to glance toward where the mysterious object would've landed.

As always, The Immortal traveled alongside his beloved dog; which seemed to have an affinity for being hidden in the shadows. He was afraid to continue his movement forward, and began to contemplate his next series of movements. If he moved forward any further he would risk being spotted; perhaps by something he did not want to see him. “What in the petch... Is that?” He whispered to himself, and his eyes managed to find the bright object in the Sky yet again. The question is whether or not it would fall, what it was made of, where it came from, and why is it here? Multiple colors seemed to exit the object; purple, blue, and white lights. How large was the object, and if it landed how much destruction would it bring? There were a multitude of questions that one could ask about the object, but Aerius would not bother to hide anymore, and decided to move forth. Hopefully if the object were to fall the immortal would have time to be long gone from the location it would strike.

He has died once in the past one thousand years, and he knew that if he died this time he likely would not come back. The best thing for Aerius to do would be to avoid any situation that could potentially be fatal for him until further notice. “I'm going to use your eyes... “ Aerius voiced to his animal companion whilst he turned toward it and looked it in the eye. He made several observations and attempted to mimic them on the spot; morphing was not his favorite magic, but it had several uses especially in the dark with low visibility. “Wide pupils, larger than my own. The iris itself is also massive in comparison to mine. I have to make this quick so that I can see what it is you see my child.” He spoke and widened his eyes; he felt his pupils twist, turn and stretch as well as the irises of his eyes become wider. For now he could only manipulate two portions of his eye.

Suddenly he looked at the ground beneath his feet, and noticed that everything became far more clear and visible. His eyes seemed to take in a little more light and allow him to see his surroundings slightly better than before. However he quickly found the change to be more cosmetic, and useless than anything else. Aerius moved without hesitation, and stood erect only to hide behind yet another Tree after he completed several more steps toward his target location. He wanted to be as close to the object in the Sky as possible, yet as far away from the location it would fall toward simultaneously. He attempted to be stealthy, but he was not quite the best in that regard; if someone were to come by despite the fact that he no longer needed to breathe he would likely be noticed.

Aerius, as a Chained One projects an unnatural aura of unease, “wrongness”, Fear, and discomfort. Anyone who happens to be nearby will likely experience one of the feelings above; both people and Animals have a tendency to avoid him under normal circumstances.

Without knowing why, the woman found herself staring at the edge of the sea. The moon's light shone down towards her, scattered by the water, and stars stared down beside Leth, twinkling lightly at her. She hugged her knees as she stared out, feet burying themselves in the sand of this tiny beach, just past the harbour. It was calm, almost too calm, and her mind was working hard, running over everything she knew and wishing it was more.

This was why she hated idleness. This was why she hated not having something to do, to investigate, to create. Because then her mind took over, forcing herself to think about everything she had been through. She just wanted to escape it all, but clearly she couldn't, no matter where she went. Perhaps it was about time to accept it all. Shutting it all out couldn't be good for her.

As the woman started to come to terms with actually thinking about it actively, something else distracted her and she let it distract her gratefully. The sky; she scanned it methodically, searching for what had caught her eye. Her eyes fell on a star, glittering differently to the rest. It shone different colours, blues, purples, and grew brighter every tick she stared. Alija stared a little longer, then practised her meditation, letting her mind dispel her thoughts and begin to use djed, wondering whether the star would have a visible aura. She had never tried to turn this vision to the sky, but if any of the stars would be visible, this vibrant one would.

Her vision shifted slowly, auras slowly misting before her eyes, but a sharp, sudden beeping broke her attention, and the woman spun, jumping up with shock. Her entire body prickled, wondering whether she had done something wrong. Swooping down to snatch her sandals, she hurried along the beach towards the boats, bobbing silently in the harbour. Her feet slipped into the sand as she ran, spotting the commotion already, and her heart skipped a beat every time she thought a sailor or golem was about to approach her. She hadn't done anything wrong.

As she approached nearer, she stopped to slip on her sandals, using the chance to tighten the cloak around her a little more. A rat-like golem trundled past her, giving her a sudden shock. There were more around the dock, replacing the actual rats that were found in real harbours. It gave a sharp beep before moving on, making Alija jump some more. She shuddered, wondering what the beep meant. Those golems - observer golems, she seemed to remember - had never interested her, so she had never asked. Now, she wished she knew everything.

She hurried further, stepping onto the wooden pier and suddenly hearing noise other than the beeping. And she thought that it was called Port Silence. With the thumping of feet across the decks of the boats and the dock, and of course the incessant beeping, it was anything but. She stood there, waiting for someone to notice her, but if they did, they didn't stop, running around like a chicken without a head. Her voice didn't stop them either, weak and uncertain. She was uncertain, too, about what she was doing. The beeping most likely had nothing to do with her. Her eyes flickered up to the light of the star filling the night sky, so powerful compared to the other, ordinary white ones. She didn't know how, but the star had caused it. It had to, or was otherwise an incredibly strange coincidence.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" she finally asked, voice loud enough to be heard by one of the passing sailors, who stopped, turning his head. The woman closed her eyes for moment, trying to compose herself. She had nothing to be scared of. Standing a little straighter, she let a worried breath out, well aware that the sailor most likely could tell. "The noise," she began again, trying to be a little more commanding, "What does it mean?" She ended up just sounding like a curious child.

81 Winter 516

Clyde rubbed at his eyes for a moment, wondering if his eyes were playing tricks on him. He'd spent the day staring at rocks, puzzling them over within his aura sight. This of course didn't affect his physical vision, but over time when deep in sight of an aura the line blurred between mundane and magical vision. They blurred, overlapped, joined, blocked, and did other odd things.

His purpose was to better understand the stone of the island for possible future use in Reimancy, and other possible projects. He'd once pondered making a proper stone road from the coastal docks to the citadel, using nothing but his Reimancy. He'd ever perhaps taken a tentative first step at such a thing when he'd made his pycon cave outside of Alvadas.

And before that he'd made a cube out of the stone of the island, during which he'd studied its aura.

Still, he felt he had more to understand, deeper knowledge to take from the stone if he spent the time.

That had been how he'd spent the day, his eyes opened at times, at other times closed. But most of the day had been spent looking about at the aura of stone between the citadel and the docks.

He'd concluded his work half a bell or so ago, and had begun to head back to the citadel, to its underground surfaces and labs and things, though wasn't taking a particularly fast speed at doing so. While Sahova even above ground wasn't overly great, it was still nice to be out in the open and to see the sky. He was still alive, still human, and enjoyed seeing such things at times in between sessions of work.

He had nearly reached the citadel however when he noticed odd colors and lights in the sky. He'd rubbed at his eyes, thinking it perhaps some leftover trick of aura vision, but he quickly noted he'd withdrawn his aura completely and only saw with his mundane sight.

As he watched though the light seemed to grow, taking up more of the sky, something he instinctively felt was wrong or impossible from his past experience with stars. He'd never seen one grow close, or change size. Puzzled, he stood and watched, wondering at it all, his trek underground forgotten.

For a moment he pondered going into his glyphing supplies and odds and ends he kept in his pack for something to draw with, to perhaps copy the sight, but decided to simply continue staring.

Looking down at the staff in his hand, Clyde smiled.

“What do you think Cha? Something of interest?”

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Graders note: :
Please be aware Clyde is a master Magecrafter. He therefore should not be gaining full xp(or possibly shouldn't gain any at all) for simple tasks related to this magic, such as low level MC items, particularly for repetitions of creations he has done before. Feel free to contact me if unsure of a instance of his magic use compared to his skill level.

XX, Season, 516av

Ben wandered around Sahova in search of someone, and not just anyone. A man named of Julian. He seemed to be either in trouble, or is wishing to plan trouble. Although, he had many other things that he must get done before season end of course, he must find this man. As a priority, although, Benare hadn't had one clue of what he could look like. Also, he might even be a Nuit for the hell of it, and it would be impossible to find him now. For sure, and the Crescent Circle of course wouldn't find it quite approving.

Though, as Benare and Damien both venture through the streets of Sahova, there was one thing that mesmerized the both of them, and perhaps many others. Bright rocks falling from the sky above them, igniting the sky magnificently.

Even though, Benare was on a mission for his occupation, he also agreed to becoming an apprentice under the man named Taeralis. He knows many magics, but wields a limited amount as he usually finds himself busy the majority of the time; either teaching, or doing some busy paperwork. It was a surreal relief that Benare had found such a being that would train Benare. After all, a few years ago, his other trainer had passed. Benare had been having difficulty finding a teacher, and during that time; he sidetracked into training with his short sword and shield. Which he's carrying around currently.

Damien had daggers at his side, and ready for use whenever something might turn south. Hoping that things wouldn't, but it's always good to take precautions. Especially with the new Vantha hunting season come this season. It would be fun, though those Vanthas seemed to be quite rash and scary good at concealing their presence. It'll take some finding, but Benare plans to do that quite secretly, and alone if he must. Damien doesn't find it right, but Benare didn't care, it was merely for the coin.

"Wow. Look at em' stars Ben."Damien oohed as he was gazing across the skies. "Where you suppose' they come from, eh?"The blonde asked.

"Who'd on Mizahar knows?" Benare retorted back, he was gazing at the stars himself for sure. "They are quite interesting to look at. See there." Benare pointed to a star passing by, it was definitely different then the others. The color of it, illuminated portions of the sky with blues, purples about.

"Aye. The colors. What kind of star will do something like it?"Damien replied. Still gazing at the stars falling down.

"Am not so sure of course. Not an astronomer. Never studied the universe." Benare replied. Then, there was large stomping, and it came from the docks. Benare and Damien weren't too far from the docks, they were ready to head back to Taeralis' lab before the starfall.

"I've never seen anything of the sort."
"No of course. Neither have I." Benare added.
"Who do you think knows what's going on?"
"Hopefully... someone not crazy."

[justify]By the time Farke arrived, the docks were in chaos. Pulsers crawled all over the ground, eyes wide, hearts beating so quickly he wondered whether some might give out. He sighed, pushing aside one of the smaller, more frantic ones. There were so many Pulsers scattered about, how was he supposed to work on anything? He so hated that his job as public relations included golems on the docks.

Finally, Farke dug his feet into the ground beneath him and took a deep breath. He channeled the Djed within him with practiced ease. He welcomed the warming feeling of the Flux on his vocal cords, soothing his throat like honey for a cough. He cleared his throat once, then began.

"Witnesses, come to me." His voice boomed, nearly echoing despite the massive space to be filled. "Do not worry. The Overseers will disable the golems accordingly."

Even as he spoke, the tall, bipedal golems toddled into view from their hidden homes. Nearly each one of their footsteps was followed by a soft crunching as one of the Observers was crushed beneath their feet. One by one, the beeping died out, leaving only heavy, living breaths to be heard.

There were rumors of what happened when a man met Farke, none of them pleasant. Indeed, even as Farke spoke, a few of the sailors bolted, scattering away to their ships or posts. Some tried to slink away, as if Farke would not notice them. He did certainly notice them, and he marked each face in his memory, so that they might be dealt with later. It was no concern now; if they were guilty of anything, the Witness golems would tell all. All they had earned was suspicion and a swift punishment- perhaps slavery, if he was lucky. Farke smirked at the thought.

"It will only benefit you to come to me." He promised, standing still on the path to the Citadel, going no nearer the docks. He did not wish to sully his shoes, and with the Flux, there was no need. Farke considered taking his voice down a notch, now that the beeping was gone, but it simply would not be quite so...impressive. He spoke looking up at the sky, watching the infinitely slow but steady falling of the star.

"I will need one of you to take textual notes, and one of you to draw in some form of pictorial notes. I want this documented in all forms possible. I will also need a few of you to search the area for any evidence of intruders, as the golems did go off. Lastly, someone will need to gather the Witness golems as planks in the docks, so that Lector Qiao may go over their records. Every aspect of this must be examined properly, and if you should provide reasonable services you will be rewarded accordingly, I am sure."

As he finished speaking, he looked down at the land again, noting the remaining members with glee. One- an old man with aging spots on his face- even stepped forward. He grinned, and whistled out a shrill, quick jingle.

"Count me in, Mister Farke. I'll help retrieve the Witnesses."

Farke nodded happily. At least there are a few level-headed souls here, no matter how stupid.

The sailors seemed to busy and disorganized to have paid her any mind. Clearly there was something awry and it had been a redundant question. However, as Sayana tried to make sense of beeping contraptions, she noticed a much friendlier face.

“Alija!” She called out to her friend.

“You’ve seen it too?” She asked, pointing to the purple and white star, bigger than the rest.

It was about then that someone new approached the docks. When he spoke, his voice was far louder than the norm. But more importantly, the sailors seemed actively frightened of him despite his non-threatening words.

Sayana walked up from the docks, albeit cautiously, towards the new arrival. She stood in such a way so she could still see the dazzling star out of the corner of her eye. So he wanted as much information as he could gain about the celestial occurrence. However she frowned at the idea of removing the ‘witness golems’.

“Can these witness golems… ‘remember’ what they see? If so, wouldn’t it be more prudent to place them in such a way that the nightly skies are visible to them?” Sayana questioned. Her knowledge regarding the golems was still rather bleak and she had forgotten to account for Farke’s intimidating presence towards the sailors.

“If this is beyond their abilities, it might be useful to devise some way to measure the star and its… growth. Perhaps taken at specific time intervals. I will set off for the Citadel and return shortly with writing implements to record notes.”

She met Farke’s gaze for a moment trying to determine what made him so intimidating to the others on the island, before taking her leave.

In truth, taking notes or even drawing replicas was the last thing she wanted to do. However, she hoped that in the brief interlude, she might be able to find Clyde either in the Citadel or specifically in his lab. He was far more qualified for such and might even enjoy the task of writing down notes. Besides, if he knew anything about this ‘Mister Farke’…

So long as she was released from Farke’s presence, Sayana would set off at a light jog, not wishing to delay the process any further. Every so often, she would glance up at the night sky and the illuminating glow from the strange star above. After several chimes of the easy loping run, she noticed a familiar face on the road and relief flooded her.

“Thank the goddesses, Clyde. I was worried I wasn’t going to find you and I’d have to take notes on my own. Have you seen the star? The one with the different colours? There’s a guy down by the docks wanting it to be recorded in every way possible. I said I’d go to the Citadel to get some writing supplies.” She made a gesture to suggest walking in the direction of the Citadel.

“What do you know about a man named Farke? Some of the people down there seemed pretty terrified of him.”

The Immortal heard a voice far more loud than he ever had before; obviously he thought it to be impossible for the volume to be natural. If a man could project his voice like that regularly he possessed the lungs of a monster. As time passed the object grew closer, but Aerius listened to what the man had to say as his eyes reverted back to their original state. The level of brightness increased, and he paced forward toward the man who spoke so loudly. He was often rumored to be one of the individuals on the island to be feared, but Aerius knew no fear. The Sorcerer, and his Animal companion approached without hesitation. He spoke aloud of various tasks that needed to be performed during the time, and he also mentioned that there were benefits. All Aerius needed to hear was the word reward; perhaps it was something that would interest him such as a large amount of coin or perhaps a magical item. With that in mind he increased his pace of movement, and the Dog too picked up the pace. Despite the increasing level of light on the surface of the ground; he could hardly see the Animal due to the coloration of it's coat.

Yet, anyone with a pair of eyes could both see and hear Farke as he called to anyone who was in the nearby vicinity. He was certainly not alone either, and The Immortal noticed that the incessant beeping stopped as well. Something was obviously wrong, but he knew nothing of it and wanted to further investigate anyhow. This particular event was like nothing he had ever seen before in all of his centuries spent invested in his studies. At first he thought of it as an opportunity too good to be true; the chance to witness a gorgeous object approach ever so slowly, and the chance to reap a reward for simple tasks. Only a fool would pass up the chance to do a combination of both things, but the moment Farke mentioned “intruders” that simply confirmed what Aerius was suspicious of.

Aerius approached the man ever so closely, and with such silence that he would be surprised if he was heard at all on the way there. “I will go in search of any Intruders.” He spoke aloud as to catch Farkes attention. Aerius had no reason to be afraid now, and he was certain that Farke would want nothing to do with him when the aftermath of this event was over. Which is why he spoke up so quickly, and he began to feel as if he were the only volunteer. Until he both heard and saw a woman with multiple arms, and another face that he recognized immediately. The woman that he had previously exchanged a handshake with and several other encounters. He was not surprised in the least bit in the fact that Alija showed up; she was quite curious after-all.

He did not bother to wait for a response from Farke, and simply waltzed off into the distance in search of any so called “Intruders”. Aerius enjoyed carnage in each and every single form that it came in; whether or not the form is death, or senseless bloodshed. If he had the opportunity to kill anything he would be the first to accept it. If something wanted to challenge him, and make an attempt to end his one thousand years of un-life he did not mind it. “I will not cower, for I do not bleed.” He spoke to himself as he continued his search. Socializing with the other individuals was not important to him at all; the only way he would bother to care for anyone else is if they were something of importance to him or if his life was truly at stake until then he and his Animal companion were his priorities. The Immortal supposed luck was on his side tonight; he came dressed for the occasion black clad in his cloak that covered majority of his body.

Aerius, as a Chained One projects an unnatural aura of unease, “wrongness”, Fear, and discomfort. Anyone who happens to be nearby will likely experience one of the feelings above; both people and Animals have a tendency to avoid him under normal circumstances.

Make a Wish

A voice spoke out, Alija jumping at how loud it sounded. But there was no one standing beside her to have said it, and there was magic on the voice. How magic could be used to amplify a voice, she didn't know, but she was pretty certain of it, following the noise as she had nothing else to follow.

It was nuit who had called them, and her eyes brushed against the others standing around her, recognising some. "It isn't hard to miss," she replied to the six armed woman, returning the smile. She flickered back to the glowing star, realising out it was still glowing brighter, brighter than before. The Sorcerer was there too, but she didn't address him, as he didn't give her a second look, before disappearing to search for intruders. And there was another man - she had seen him before, before Sahova too. She couldn't remember his name, though.

The list of roles didn't sound extremely interesting. But helping out seemed the right thing to do, or there would be too many eyes on her. And a reward tempted her, whatever it would be. Sayana moved away to gather supplies, someone was checking the witness golems, and "Crow" was looking for intruders. She didn't want to join him. Intruders sounded dangerous and she was a little scared of what they would be - she doubted they would be normal considering the connection to the star as well.

That left taking notes, and while she didn't have anything to write with, she could wait until Sayana returned and use that moment to observe, the star and everything. "I'll look around with auristics. Maybe I can see anything near by, or learn something about the star." Speaking about magic so openly was odd, with the fear and distrust towards it from all the other cities, even when it was just auristics. But in Sahova, everyone had a magic, or two, or more, up their sleeve or out in the open. "When Sayana returns, she can write down any important findings."

Moving to the side so she could have space, and quiet now the beeping was gone, she began to settle her breathing, ready for lots of aura readings. Instead of choosing something deliberate to focus on, she looked outward, brushing past the auras of the people around her. With each one, she lingered on the shapes that formed to make it, searching for an overall reading. If anything looked particularly out of the ordinary, she would hesitate a little more, focusing specifically on that one and allowing a few more facts to become clear from the obfuscation of the aura. Once she had gathered enough from the people, she moved out some more, searching the nearby area for any auras that looked particularly nasty, or large.

Blocking out the auras of the general surrounding, she pressed harder, not able to make things out particularly clearly with the distance between her and the auras that could be hiding in the shadows. Still, if there was a sentient being there, the aura should be big enough for her to spot, even if she couldn't tell much more about it. If the aurist did see something, she wouldn't wait to learn more, alerting whoever was nearest that there was something there, even if it was friend.

Once she had searched the area she could see for auras, she changed her direction of sight to up. The star glared down at them, all the colours flooding the night sky. Had it grown in the time she was looking at the auras? Perhaps, it was impossible to tell, but the night only seemed to get brighter.

She tried to focus on the star again, now ready to not concentrate on any other aura. Would something be visible? She wasn't certain, but focused heavily on it anyway, letting something mist before her eyes. Even if she did see it, it would be too far away to see clearly, wouldn't it? Unless it wasn't a star, which would make reading its aura far too easy.
