Into the Wild . . Timestamp: 40th of Summer, 513 AV Everything was ready. Most of his supplies had already been sent ahead, and would be awaiting him at the Southern Trade Post. Clyde, and whoever else the mage was bringing, would meet him at the docks for the trip across the water. The only thing that was really left for Marcus to do was finish getting dressed and then get Kalina. He pulled on his riding boots, then adjusted his new hat. In fact, everything he was wearing was new. The boots and hat had been purchased earlier in the season, and the rest of his outfit, less fine than what he would normally wear but more durable and fit for travel, had been purchased on his undercover mission at Ino Vations. His new mission did not require him to pose as anyone other than himself, at least for the first half of it. In Nyka it would be relatively safe to be a member of the Black Sun, but Zeltiva was far less friendly to the followers of Rhysol, and he would have to keep that tidbit under wraps. Luckily he did not have to worry about Kalina. Marcus simply had not found the time to explain who and what Rhysol was, and why she should worship him. Such things were hard for a kelvic anyway, and especially for one so young. "Kalina, are you ready yet? We need to get going." Kalina was supposed to be getting dressed. Her things, what little she owned, had already been sent ahead along with his own, though her outfit for the day and her blanket still remained. He figured that the blanket would ease the ride across the lake for her, that way he didn't have to deal with her throwing a fit. Marcus let the little kelvic get away with more than he probably should, but he did not really want her making a scene in front of Clyde Sullins. Though Clyde was far more powerful and wealthy than Marcus, Marcus still out ranked him, and he did not want to loose face in front of the influential mage. As soon as Kalina was ready, Marcus would lead her outside and down to the shipyard. He chose not to ride the Ravosala, preferring not to get Kalina worked up to early. She was getting better, but he knew the boat rides made the kelvic uncomfortable, and they were about to embark on one that could last up to four bells. He doubted she would have a problem with traveling over land, but once they reached Nyka they would be setting out on another boat ride that would take many days. Once they arrived at the Shipyard, Marcus began his search for Clyde. |
