OOC Info [Riverfall] Player Introductions and Scrapbook

Hello, everybody! Due to the recent RF chat, a lot of ideas have come up for cooperation OOC, and this was one of them. Basically, this thread is a way to get to know the other rp'ers in Riverfall. Not the characters, but the people behind them, the players themselves! Anyone interested in sharing OOCly can feel free to post a bio about themselves. Think of it, sorta, as your own little player interview, reminiscent of the Featured Character that goes up on the homepage every month (if you have actually been a Featured Character, post a link!). This thread will hopefully spur conversation/OOC relationships amongst Riverfall players. Anyone who has a character rp'ing in RF, feel free to join!

I was thinking, also, that it might be fun to use the thread as a communal RF scrapbook to post whatever RF-related stuff you happen to dig up. So, have a blast!

To get things started, a bio template. Nothing on the template is mandatory (so, if you feel uncomfortable including info on your location or age, simply don't do it!). These are mere guidelines, suggestions to get things going.

NAME: What do you want to be called (this is likely something separate from your PC name).
DOB: Your date of birth.
LOCATION: Hemisphere, country, city, something completely silly (ex: inside a teapot? climbing in your window and snatching your people up?)... whatever you want!
OCCUPATION: What do you do to make'a the mizas in real life?
INTERESTS/DREAMS: What else do you do? Or what do you want to do?
CONTACT: Any social media/internet connections you want to post, be them blogs or skype or whatever.
CHARACTERS: Which characters belong to you?
OOC SITE GOALS: Have any projects you're working on OOC that you want to share? Want to incorporate ideas/collaboration from other players? Put those here so other people can get in touch. Teamwork!
OTHER: Go wild. Put down whatever extra information you want (as long as it's classy and doesn't violate any of the site rules). Do you have a worst fear, or a talent? Has something crazy interesting ever happened to you? What's your backstory? What times do you commonly visit the Mizahar chat? Are there any other comments you might have? Put all that (or whatever else you think of!) here. Remember, however, that this is an introductory thread, and not exclusive to you. So please... if you have a lot to say, condense it down and then perhaps post a link to your own player scrapbook. That way anyone interested can take a further look at all the glory that is you!

Mainly, this thread should be used as a secondary Take the Plunge! to discuss or post things that other players might be interested in, but which don't belong in the regular RF chat. So, want to know other players' opinions on a certain topic (brush up on Mizahar's rules to avoid inappropriate subjects), do an informal poll, or want to ask a question (How many cats do you have? We all know you have them, internet folks!), then make sure to do that here! Happy posting!

DOB: Sept 18th

LOCATION: Wa State

OCCUPATION: Professionally educated as a Wildlife Biologist, currently a Hostler.

INTERESTS/DREAMS: Keeping Mizahar alive and the best on the web, making money beekeeping (13.4 lbs of honey from one hive this year yea!), getting a book published, and selling art that's in such demand that I can quit my job. I have horses and run a small hobby farm.

OOC SITE GOALS: I'd love for Riverfall to be the best city in the game and the tightest knit community. Long term though I'd love to have all the gnosis articles finished and beyond that a great deal of the skills articles fleshed out as well.

OTHER: People are often scared shitless of me. This always amuses me because its not something that I strive to put out as a vibe. Off the net I have lots of friends and most people say I'm one of the easiest going folks they know... unless my mean inner child is provoked. She's a little bitch.

I am really forthright in my speech, which sometimes makes them think I am upset. I just like to get to the point of things and don't usually put a lot of 'fluff' like "Hi how are you doing? Have a great day!" in my communications. I think its because of my culture. Almost all the Native Americans I know are the same way. My normal is obviously not the pandering normal of the masses.

I think this is tragic (the fact people assume things about me such as I don't like them or I am too busy to approach) because I love chatting on AIM and usually make friends with all sorts of people if they can get past the blue tint to my name. I have a temper but it takes a while to get it riled up and I'm quick to get over it after I vent. I'm really passionate and protective of Mizahar and virtually have no patience for fools. I love talking nature, magic, and animals with anyone who wants to chat. I'm secretly addicted to nail polish and I truly love chitchatting about it.

I also like chatting about plots... but I hate people ripping off my ideas or taking over my plot lines. That's annoying. I would really like to get to know each and every one of you. If you use AIM don't be afraid to shoot me a hello or chat back and forth. I'm up at odd hours and don't usually mind the intrusion.

LOCATION: Saskatchewan, Canada.
OCCUPATION: Currently, I job search the petch out of the internet.
INTERESTS/DREAMS: I read and write, and I've also moderated groups in chats on other sites. Current dreams are to get published, buy several instruments and learn to play them all, and renovate my life. I'm sort of a traditional person, in the aspect of my First Nations heritage, and I'm actually very interested in the religions and spiritual lives of other countries! Also, I aspire to either be a tattoo artist, designer, or really good psychologist. I love psychology. And design. I can't even figure out what I want to do! Live short, but hard.

OOC SITE GOALS: I'm plotting a lot in regards to my characters, from Adrienna to Yra. Currently, I am interested in proving myself capable of AS-ship in Cyphrus. Cyphrus needs it, and I've been hit hard with a hard-to-deny request.
OTHER: I'm not always the most approachable nor attentive person, but I generally offer an ear if someone approaches me with patience. I'm also not the friendliest, and I form opinions of people early on.

I'm horribly direct when requested I share my opinion, but I think myself sound in my reasons, and I'll share my reasons. I am not always well or capable of logging online, so I wear the badge of being a slow poster when someone who doesn't know me requests a thread. It's only fair you know, right?

I'm chatty when you get me talking about things I like (books, music, tumblr???, tattoos) and I get frustrated sometimes. You'll generally know, as I believe in completely abandoning the situation that frustrates me if it doesn't look like it will resolve quickly in favour of sitting idle somewhere else and working out my frustrations alone. I'm independent like that!

Generally, I'm in a good mood, or I wouldn't want to hear from you guys in chat all the time. :] It takes a while to frustrate me, so don't worry about saying something silly that sets me off.

OCCUPATION: Full-time MSc Student in Neuroscience

INTERESTS/DREAMS: I'm heading towards a career in research, either specialising in neurodegenerative diseases, or prosthetics (a hugely growing area in research). Short-term dreams are to pass with distinction in my masters and to avoid spending all my money.... But LDN is expensive, ya'll.

OOC SITE GOALS: I'm always happy to expand my virtual social circle, and to develop actual friendships and bonds with the people I thread with. It's always pleasant to have some sort of OOC conversation going on behind the threads, and have an idea about what people are up to.

OTHER: I'm hugely laid back, and this has really frustrated some people before now. But in my view, if I have a set goal for a PC in mind, I'll most likely carry it out in Solos or a modded thread. I'm a bit of a control freak, and if I want 'X' to happen, I know exactly how it's gonna happen if I do it alone.

That said, I absolutely ADORE this collaborative style of writing. I always think it makes PCs develop in such random and unexpected ways. My oldest PC, Ayatah, is completely different to how I imagined her when I first started writing her CS. And that change has happened through threading (a simple 'oh, this would be a good idea...' leads to a whole different plot and aspect to a PC that wouldn't have come about any other way).

In RL, I have a real issue with bananas. Like... seriously. I don't like their smell, their appearance, their colour, and that horrible sound when someone first peels one and it kinda snaps. I can't have one in the same room as me and won't let my boyfriend eat one in our flat because the smell is so strong/gross/wrong

OCCUPATION: Uni student of Japanese & part-time waitress.

INTERESTS/DREAMS: I'd love to make it as a writer. I also like anything Japanese, traditional culture, music, TV, games, you name it. At the moment I'm working towards being a translator or interpreter.

OOC SITE GOALS: Most of my ooc plotting is going into Kenash and Estrellir. Gwin was always the easy PC that was just living in the moment, but with RF getting so many new things, I might just get inspired to contribute too...

OTHER: Focusing on the ooc bonding and community aspect in RF sounds like a great idea to me. I've always enjoyed hearing about people's lives and getting to know the players, although I've had little opportunity for that recently. Maybe it's because I'm not as active as I used to be in earlier days. (I've been here since creation, more or less, with breaks.) It'd be awesome to get to know people again over ooc plotting and developing stuff together.

Anything about me? I'm the kind of person who listens and gives advice rather, but if asked, I can talk a lot about myself. Who doesn't really? I love to travel and enjoy living in Europe precisely for that reason. Culture is something I'm always interested in, especially learning about how things are done differently in different parts of the world.

NAME: Airenn DOB: December 1 LOCATION: Virginia, US OCCUPATION: Well I'm a college student, and I've managed to talk my parents into paying for gas and classes and textbooks and everything. But I earn money by working at a local stables; I take care of the horses that are involved with Ride With Pride, a therapeutic riding program(I also volunteer for that program when I have the spare time). INTERESTS/DREAMS: SCIENCE. Seriously, I love science. Also reading, writing, fandom-related-stuff, and horseback riding. Stupid last semester of high school made me stop most of my internet shenanigans otherwise I would have stayed active and would already have applied. *pouts* OTHER: Hmmm... I'm a roleplay fanatic, and until I joined Mizahar I mostly did fandom roleplays; My most active ones are Teen Wolf, Supernatural, Supernatural RPF, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of my partners I've been working with for over a year now, and we've completed about twenty plots(and currently working on two more) and have actually converted the plots to story form here. I am always up to roleplaying in fandoms or even just screaming about different shows(don't even get me started on Teen Wolf/the Captain America movies unless you're prepared for epic rants and monologues). I am a college student, just started my freshman year at the local community college, and am going to be earning my Associate's of Science before transferring out-of-state(WAY out of state) to complete my education. I'm not certain what, exactly, I'm going to do once I get out of college, but I've narrowed it down to either forensic anthropology or teaching science at at least a high school level(I do not have the patience for kids younger than that). Um, what else... Online, I'm usually a lot more friendly/open than I am in real life; in real life, I'm very quiet, rarely speak unless spoken to, and absolutely abhor physical contact of any kind unless I really really like/trust the other person(which does not include my family for various reasons). I am easily put off by someone I don't know well being blunt, because... Well, for the same reasons I don't trust/open up to a lot of people offline. I always feel like a bother when that happens, and more often than not I'll simply drop the conversation/inadvertently kill it. I guess you could say I'm very insecure, but I'm working on that. I do ride a lot-- not as much as I would like, due to a new problem with my ankle that is genetic and has decided to rear it's petching ugly head. Basically this genetic condition makes the tendons in my ankle very weak and unable to hold a flexed(toes pointed up) position for very long-- and, as anyone who knows even the basics of riding can tell you, that is exactly what needs to happen to keep your foot in the stirrup. So until we figure out how to fix this(preferably without surgery), I'm mostly doing groundwork and downing ibuprofen like crazy right before one of the few rides I go on. I adore horses, grew up with them(my mom actually has been working with horses since she was sixteen and is well-known in our area and even across the state), and have no intentions of ever not interacting with horses. I get very defensive of horses when people claim that they're just dumb animals, but at the same time the horses that I work with at the stable I work at get cussed at quite a bit for being stupid. Like, I think I cuss them out more than I've ever cussed at any human... >.> But only when they deserve it(like stepping on me, getting into my space, refusing to respect me, that sort of thing). Whew that was a long post.

(specifically, eastern US) INTERESTS/DREAMS: I want to be a published writer, living in the smokey's with my chickies and other critter children. Right now it’s just an income supplement. As for interests, they’re pretty vast. I’m into novels and screenwriting, a few different fandoms, furniture rehabbing, running, farm to table cooking, PR for local non profits, and more recently baby stuff. NAME: Rae DOB: September 9th LOCATION: Massachusetts, US OCCUPATION: I work as a phone operator for deaf people so they can communicate with hearing people. I also am in school going for my biology Associates degree and then when I go to uni I will probably gear my studies towards some work in genetics or something. INTERESTS/DREAMS: I'd love to work with my degree obviously. I also really am into art (which was my major at one point) and would love to make a little extra cash on the side with that. I'm a big reader, I'm always reading a book - since the semester just started it will be more school books then novels but definitely love novels. I play D&D, I love it and video games. I also obviously enjoy writing since I'm here on Miz . Some other things I enjoy are running, singing off key, dancing and wiggling around, watching movies with my husband, animals - I absolutely love animals and plan on signing up to volunteer at our local shelter soon. Aside from that I'm really just gearing myself to working on her personal relationships with Alaia and others as well as her skills and such. OOC SITE GOALS: Other than all my ST stuff in Kalinor, I do have some ideas to contribute to RF. I've been thinking about them for a while, but I've never had the time to write them down. The first and foremost idea that I want to give riverfall is a sewage system. It's an old Greek system with clay pipes and flushing toilets. I don't think its an overly advanced system, but I think it would work best on the second tier ... I don't know, I'm still mulling it over and researching it. Other than that, I wanted to make a music shop that might incorporate a small shrine for Rhaus. Again, still in development.
OTHER: Well, I'm not really good at explaining myself to other people, which is a reason why I am thinking about doing a vlog, speaking is so much easier ... I just have to get my camera to work. But I will let you guys know some things about my RPing that might affect you. The main point I want to write out is that I am a erratic poster. I have trouble with posts because I tend to write them and delete them and write them again. I do this and stack up posts and then just go post them all at once about once a week. I don't get on Miz nearly as much as I'd like, but that doesn't mean I don't love to plan and write with you guys! I'm just a bit slow ...
