Summer 55, 515 AV - Syliran Theatre
Continuation from the wedding ceremony.
As the ceremony concluded, it was a joyous occasion for all. And most importantly for the bride and groom, now man and wife. They each bore the same fiery chevas mark on the left side of their neck uniting them together. There was applause, general approval and many bright smiles, though hardly any matched the two who had just been bonded together.
Guests were asked to take their chairs to the various tables on the edges of the courtyard. Plates, cutlery and center pieces with flowers adorned the tables. There were also two large tables that were newly laden with food. Remi, of the Rearing Stallion, had outdone herself with various meats, summer salads, breads, vegetable dishes, and many more. There was also ale and wine to drink, in which the cook was happy to help serve from the barrels she had brought. The feast was not excessive, but would certainly accommodate the guests that had come. And while it was merely late afternoon, the food and the smells that came from it would be hard to pass up.
It was somewhat overcast by now, and partway through the reception Makutsi would grace the wedding with a light shower. However, by the time people started organizing the tables to be moved under cover, the sprinkle of rain would subside.
But before the reception could begin in full, there was to be a dance shared between the new couple.
Sayana held Aren’s hands in her two highs as she beamed up at him. Her heart was still aflutter and it was hard to think straight. They were together, and they’d stay together. The courtyard seemed to clear itself on its own accord and suddenly there was a large rectangle of free space. A dance floor.
She looked around and her eyes fell upon the violinist who had offered to play. Sayana had only seen Akvatari on occasion back in Ahnatep and usually as traders of artistic master pieces, but she was quite confident the woman would do a great job. Her only request was that the song was slow and fitting for the occasion. Sayana gave Gwin a nod and a gesture with one of her free mid hands so that the violinist might begin. It seemed as though everything had fallen into place as she stood in her red and white gown holding the man she loved.
