Job
Now that Dravite is working with a new title he is trying to take on more reasonability within the watch. This season he will be tasked with training some of the new recruits on an easy outpost mission that turns out to be a little more difficult than he first imagined.

Moral Character
Dravite is really going to be tested this season with one of his wives missing and the other taking care of a newborn. He will find that Belkaia expects him to do a lot more around camp, especially with all of the other children they’re looking after.

Gods
I have really been neglecting this but need to make sure Dravite touches base with the gods he believes in. I’d like for him to learn about a new god, possibly through Ixzo.

Character
May go a little insane or have increased anger issues due to current state of mind and living circumstances.

Writer
Work on grammar, plots, and vocabulary.

Long Term Goals

Skills
Work towards mastering key skills, including one in weapon, leadership, and webbing possibly.

More mundane jobs that really test the horse lord. He likes to be away from home but winter will keep him close. It will be interesting to see how he handles this.

Grammar, Punctuation, and Other Rules
Some handy tips

Who, That, Which

Rule 1. Who and sometimes that refer to people. That and which refer to groups or things.
Rule 2a. That introduces what is called an essential clause. Essential clauses add information that is vital to the point of the sentence.
Rule 2b. Which introduces a nonessential clause, which adds supplementary information.
Rule 3. If that has already appeared in a sentence, writers sometimes use which to introduce the next clause, whether it is essential or nonessential. This is done to avoid awkward formations.

Periods

Rule 1. Use a period at the end of a complete sentence that is a statement.
Rule 2. If the last item in the sentence is an abbreviation that ends in a period, do not follow it with another period.
Rule 3. Question marks and exclamation points replace and eliminate periods at the end of a sentence.

Commas

Rule 1. Use commas to separate words and word groups in a simple series of three or more items.
Note: When the last comma in a series comes before and or or, use an Oxford comma.
Rule 2. Use a comma to separate two adjectives when the adjectives are interchangeable.
Rule 3. In sentences where two independent clauses are joined by connectors such as and, or, but, etc., put a comma at the end of the first clause.
Rule 4a. Use a comma after certain words that introduce a sentence, such as well, yes, why, hello, hey, etc.
Rule 4b. Use commas to set off expressions that interrupt the sentence flow (nevertheless, after all, by the way, on the other hand, however, etc.).
Rule 5. Use commas to set off the name, nickname, term of endearment, or title of a person directly addressed.
Rule 6. Use commas to introduce or interrupt direct quotations.
Rule 7. Use a comma to separate a statement from a question.
Rule 8. Use a comma to separate contrasting parts of a sentence.

Note

The abbreviation i.e. means "that is"; e.g. means "for example."

Apostrophes

Rule 1. Use the apostrophe to show possession. To show possession with a singular noun, add an apostrophe plus the letter s.
Rule 2. Do not use an apostrophe + s to make a regular noun plural.
Rule 3. Never use an apostrophe to make a name plural.
Rule 4. If two people possess the same item, put the apostrophe + s after the second name only.
Rule 5. The personal pronouns hers, ours, yours, theirs, its, whose, and oneself never take an apostrophe.
Rule 6. Beware of nouns ending in y; do not show possession by changing the y to -ies.

Thread Goals and Challenges

What is a thread goal? These to-do threads are in no way required, but are simply for fun. There are twelve total suggestions. That means there is a potential of twelve threads (player's choice at length) a person can do for each season. That means twelve easy ways to build your character and make things happen! Thread goals can also be met all in one thread! The choice is up to you.

If six challenges of the 12 are completed- players receive a medal of honor. All you need to do is finish them in some way or another (even if someone drops out we can complete them right?) within the timestamp of the season. Also, if PC’s outside of Endrykas would like to participate in this challenge, they are welcome too. If you think you have completed a challenge, include that in your grade request.

Seasonal Goals

Throw an event of some kind be it a party, a hunt, or a shopping trip.

Participate in some sort of race.
Apologize to someone.
Pretend you are someone else.
Investigate a kill site.

• Summer • 515 AV •

Summer in Endrykas is a time of trade, gathering, and training. Pavilions work together to prepare for the following seasons, especially winter, when there are less readily available fresh fruits and vegetables to go round. Grains, seeds, nuts, and fruits are dried out and preserved. Warriors hone their battle skills and take advantage of the fine weather. Rare metals are traded with merchants from Syliras, and livestock are fattened up on the tall grass, of which there is plenty.

3rd – A young man is struck by lightning and as a result claims to have a direct link to the god, Zulrav. No one can make any sense of the man’s babbling in the chimes before his death, except for the words, “The dark one is near.”

7th - Foreign traders from Syliras arrive with precious metals and other useful and rare items to begin trading with the people of Endrykas. The city of tents is a lot more crowded than usual.

20th - The Diamond Clan hosts a training day for anyone wielding a sword, axe, war hammer, or dagger that wants to come and hone their skills. Some of their top warriors are there to give free lessons and part with their knowledge on how to use these weapons effectively for attack and defence purposes.

27th - The Heidecraft family from The Threaded Hide seek a new apprentice to teach the tricks of the trade in all things to do with leather-work, including skinning, tanning, and shaping hide into pieces of armour or shields.

34th - A two headed snake is caught alive outside of Endrykas by a high ranking member of the Ruby Clan. Some believe it is a bad omen. The creature is put up for sale and sold to the highest bidder.

40th - The Emerald Clan hosts a training day for anything to do with ranged weapons, including bows, spears, and javelins. At the 14th Bell they take out a handful of hunting parties for those who seek to put their newfound skills to the test.

42nd – All Seven Clans agree on a water restriction from the Uvic Lake. The Watch is charged with policing this until the 69th when the restriction is finally lifted after a four day deluge of rain.

51st – Ancient cave paintings are discovered in the Under-watch dating back hundreds of years. The paintings seem to depict early uses of personal and world magic. The Under-watch guard the entrance to the cave closely, but a second entrance is discovered on the west side of the Uvic Lake.

[51st - Moderated Thread: signups below; even commences 6th August]

55 - A member of The Watch is killed in a Zith attack just south of the Uvic Lake and two more Zith are spotted flying over Endrykas later that evening. A reward is posted for anyone who manages to capture and kill one of these creatures.

60th - The Ruby clan offer a class in weaving, yarn spinning, fabric dyeing, and sculpting for the day (at the cost of the materials used), anyone interested in learning one of these skills is more than welcome to attend.

69th – Each of the seven clans sacrifice one of their prize Zibri to Zulrav for the much needed rain that fell over the last four days. Most of the city gathers at the heart to watch the offerings.

73rd – The remains of three Glassbeaks are dumped outside the Wind-Knotted Gates of Endrykas. The Watch is sent to investigate. Strange rumours are passed about the city, some think is it a threat from a neighbouring region, others believe the Gods are angry.

77th - A strange silver treasure-chest appears on the morning of the 77th. When you look inside, the chest appears to be empty. No amount of strength can move or lift the chest. When you place something inside the chest and close the lid, you will open it to find a gift. Not all gifts are as pleasant as they first appear, while others are invaluable.

[77th - This thread will be watched closely. You choose whatever you want to place in the box and I will respond with the gift awarded to your character in a single post for each character involved in the thread.

Rules for the event on the 77th are as follows:

1. Thread must contain [Silver Chest Event] in the title somewhere.
2. The thread can be a solo or completed with a friend.
3. Anyone can join this event and make their own thread.
4. You choose what goes into the box and I will tell you in a single post what comes out.
5. Your thread must be at least 1500 words long
6. Have fun!]

82nd – A sudden influx of rabbits causes concern as the season draws to a close and people start to think about the journey southwest to the Fall Grounds. Two Striders are put down after breaking a leg due to deep warrens. Hunters from all across the city go out to try and control the issue.

91st - Summer ends.

• Fall • 515 AV •
Calendar

Fall has Endrykas following the Sylira border away from the stone city south towards Zindal Bay, bringing it into continuous warm weather for all to enjoy before the season gets colder. Hunting and gathering tends to dominate at this time, as well as trade with the coastal city of Claridon; though the city is still far off in the earlier half of Fall, as the season progresses Endrykas slowly makes its way closer to the seaside city.

Travel
Endrykas - Fall

Land Routes

Listed travel times assume modest mounted travel at 8-10 hours per day. More time spent traveling per day may only lessen the travel time by a couple of days at most. Travel in Cyphrus is easier than many other areas due to the relatively open, rolling grasslands. Wagons and extra cargo add 10 days to travel times.

Riverfall 1,015 miles 51 days
Kenash 675 miles 34 days
Claridon 450 miles 23 days
Ahnatep 785 miles 40 days
Syliras 1,020 miles 74 days
Zeltiva 900 miles 60 days
Lisnar 1,125 miles 75 days

5th – Hunting Begins.

7th – Hunters everywhere undergo a training test to see if they have what it takes to join in the annual Glassbeak hunt.

9th – People from all over Endrykas go out in search of natural stores of fruits, vegetables and nuts which will continue until stockpiles for winter are full.

13th – A massive herd of Olidosapai are spotted northwest of the city.

15th – A competition is held for hunters to bring down the biggest Olidosapai. The winning hunting team is rewarded with a new weapon each of their choosing. (PCs should work together)

17th – A member of The Watch is beheaded by a swords merchant in the marketplace. Justice is swift, but foreigners everywhere begin to feel ill at ease. The city's law is much less tolerant of strangers and turns away newcomers more frequently this season.

19th – A local tanning expert from the Ruby Clan runs a short course on tanning for anyone interested in attending.

21st – Hunting groups leave Endrykas in search of Glassbeaks.

23rd – Three men are killed during the Glassbeak hunt and seven others are seriously injured. Staff at The River Flower use a lot more stock than intended to keep the wounded men and women comfortable. Groups and individuals are asked to go out in search of different herbs to see Endrykas through the fall and coming winter.

29th – A strange cold-snap causes the Zibri to grow their hair a lot earlier than usual and their milk to dry up early, leaving many people to raise their young on expensive feeds. No one can buy any milk products in Endrykas until spring when calving starts up again.

30th – A lot of young children in Endrykas develop nasty coughs that concern parents.

31th – Crafters are paying well for pelts, yarn, and wool in order to make a start on the manufacturing of winter clothing.

35th – A design competition is held for embroiderers, weavers, and seamstresses who are tasked with putting together elaborate blankets and rugs.

41st – A large herd of wild cattle and horses are rounded up and auctioned off to the highest bidders. (Moderated Event)

47th – The winning team that managed to capture the biggest Glassbeak are awarded with Glassbeak amour and a pair of warm winter boots fashioned from prized Olidosapai leather. Those wearing this armour are considered to be some of the most elite hunters in Endrykas.

49th – Foragers are encouraged to go out in search of eatable roots, nuts, seeds, and flowers. The individual or team who brings back the best assortment of goods are awarded with enough dried meat to see them through the winter.

50th – Hunting Ends.

54th – A old Drykas woman, who visits the same time every year, wanders into the city to share old, historical stories with those willing to listen.

61st – Caiyha's Tears: A strange tree appears overnight at the heart of Endrykas as if it had sprung from the ashes of the central fire pit. The tree bears tasty blue fruit that look a lot like pears. Some don't feel any different for eating the fruit, while others see visions of the future. (Sub-moderated Event)

68th – The Watch discover a destroyed campsite a day's ride north of Endrykas. It looks like something terrible went down which causes concern. Everyone who lived there has been either eaten or killed and left to rot.

72nd – An ancient Earth Velispar [The Dark One] visits the city, his arrival is announced by the screams of men, women and children everywhere. (Moderated Event)

76th – A handful of slaves that escaped their Zith captors stumble through the Wind-Knotted Gates. Most of them can't remember their names, family, or trades. Two of them are barely conscious and all five are none but skin and bone.

84th – Individuals prepare their costumes and decorative masks for the big feast tomorrow. Spot prizes are awarded to individuals with the best; mask, costume, body paint, Strider blanket, and weaving on the day of the celebrations.

85th – A large feast is held in celebration of the food gathered and stockpiled for winter. Unwed individuals who have proved themselves worthy throughout the season are introduced to the daughters and sons of many Ankals and take pride of place during the feast. People everywhere tell stories, dance, and sing.

87th – A lot of horses and cattle are suffering from mud fever which makes travel to the winter grounds slow-going.

91st – Fall Ends
