Yisanareysin

Upon first glance
Name: Yisanareysin
Alias: Reysin Ekans, Revan Casdel, Rey
Race: Viper Dhani
Age & Birthday: 121 (66th of Spring, 396AV)

Upon first sight

Human
Reysin falls on the taller, or rather, less short end of the scale (for a viper, that is), standing at just barely 5’3”. He’s built like an acrobat, with wiry muscles and a slim frame. It's not usually obvious though, since he's usually wearing his coat. He has a soft face and largeish blue eyes (ringed with yellow starbursts from gaining pathfinding), which, combined with his shoulder length silvery hair, gives him an androgynous look. To an unaware observer, Rey appears to be in his early 20s.

As of the 20th of Fall, 514 AV, Rey has faint, but still noticeable scarring on his right cheek as a result of being stabbed.

Dhani/Snake
In his serpentine forms, he has a red band around his neck and a reddish underbelly, while his hood and the rest of his body is a solid dark brown, almost black. As a Dhani he is 11 feet exactly stretched out, while as a snake he is a mere 8’10” feet. His eyes are a dark yellow, slitted and dangerous looking.

The above mentioned scarring is still apparent in these forms.

His eyes now have blue starbursts around the pupils in these forms.

Species
Reysin is patterned on the black-necked spitting cobra, or naja nigricollis. They can spit up to 6 feet away with relatively good accuracy.

Length: Generally, 1.2 metres (3.9 ft) to 2.2 metres (7.2 ft)

Coloring: Black, grey or brown with black neck band, usually with an orange to reddish bar on the neck

Fangs: Fangs are small compared to other snakes, and have a small hole at the bottom that allows for spitting

Behavior: Extremely aggressive spitting, less likely to bite.

Diet: Small rodents, generally

Venom: The venom is an irritant to the skin and eyes. If it enters the eyes, symptoms include extreme burning pain, loss of coordination, partial loss of vision and permanent blindness. Bite symptoms include severe external hemorrhaging, tissue necrosis around the bite area, swelling, and difficulty breathing. Also, a lot of pain around the bite area

Upon meeting

Rey's twin life mottos are "I wanted to know what they were hiding" and "I wanted to see what would happen"

Rey is one of the most inquisitive people you’re ever likely to meet. At his core, he remains that bright eyed, ever curious child he was decades ago. Everything new excites him, from people to places to experiences. He wants to know everything, not for the glory of finding it out, nor for how it can help others, but for the joy of knowing it. That being said, he has no issues with actually using that knowledge when he needs to, or wants to. How silly would that be, having knowledge and not using it?

Rey is also, paradoxically, as cautious as he is whimsical. The second is innate, his capriciousness having been a part of him for as long as he can recall. The first is learned, after one particularly traumatic experience. How he reconciles the two, he doesn't quite know. He only knows that he does.

[More details in plot notes]

Upon reflection

Rey had been born in the Ahnatep nest, the first to hatch of his clutch. He was a hyperactive, easily excitable child, constantly asking questions and rarely stopping. To his parent's dismay, he was often found missing, having wandered off to explore something or the other in the nest or on the surface.

It was on one of these explorations that he was chanced upon, and kidnapped by slavers. He was forced into his snake form, and collared so he couldn’t transform without strangling himself. When he struggled he was beaten, when he tried to escape he was locked in a cage. With all other options exhausted to him, he did something that had never come naturally to him: He lay there, and listened quietly. As they traveled, he learned a number of things; The slavers intended to sell him as a rare breed of viper to a poisoncrafter, they were headed towards Ahnatep, and Ahnatep forbade the sale of captured dhani as slaves. When they arrived, as the slavers were conversing with the auctioneer, Rey was able to catch the attention of one of the guards with his movements. Seeing the Eypharian had noticed him, Rey pointed at his collar with his tail, then shook his head. Catching the hint, the guard detained the slavers, and freed him from his collar. When he returned to the nest, shaken, but unharmed, he devoted himself to making sure he would never be that helpless again. He took up the dagger, wanting a weapon that could be concealed, and his mother, seeing his distress, taught him to sense auras, so he could avoid being taken by surprise. Most importantly of all, however, he learned to listen and watch. Knowledge had saved him from a life as a slave, and knowledge would ensure that he was never caged again.

He listened to his parents, to his siblings, to the others in the nest, and, later, to the captives the nest kept for torture and sacrifice. He picked up several words of Common, then phrases, then whole sentences. Eventually, he began to learn from them about the world beyond, offering to negotiate brief respites from torture on their behalf. His parents, amused, if slightly puzzled, indulged him. In this way, he learned of forests and seas, cities, races, and other gods.

One in particular caught his attention. Akajia, goddess of secrets and the night. He pried out as much information as he could about her from the captives, then, when they knew no more, he delved into scrolls and books, in both Common and Arumenic. Though he never told, he secretly began praying to her as well as Siku.

As he grew into an adult, he found himself longing for the world beyond the nest, beyond the dry heat and sandiness of Eyktol. Though his parents were reluctant to let him leave, they had long ago learned how stubborn Rey could be when he wished to. So it was that in the year 510 AV, he left the nest with nothing but his father’s flametongue on his hip, a pouch of money in his pack, and a prayer on his lips.

Special Items

Fang
The Black Shop's Fang
A smooth, yellowish tooth from a dire wolf; provides access to the Black Shop in the Underground. The location and wares vary, however many people seek what it has to offer, as there are things there that cannot be bought anywhere else in the city. The prices, however, are not exempt from this rule and are often as exorbitant as the shop is difficult to find. PM Fable if you're wanting to make a purchase, otherwise you may self-moderate and craft the location as you see fit.
Q&A w/ Fable :
1) So, most broadly, are there any restrictions on how I write the Black Shop? Like on what type of items are sold (magical, illegal, illusory, lethal, etc?), the rarity or uniqueness of the items, number of patrons, shopkeeper(s), or anything else?

Not particularly. You have the liberty to write quite a few things here, but remember that if an item is rare (e.g. magical, gnosis marked, etc.) it's probably best to leave the descriptions of the abilities vague and send me a PM if you're wanting to purchase it or use it in a thread. Prices aren't limited to gold, so keep that in mind! Again, because the Shop is variable, it can be large or small with many people or none. Think of it similarly to how the buildings shift: it's almost never the same but always the same. ;)

2) Is there anything special about the fang if Rey senses it or is it just used as an invitation?

It's a dire wolf's fang with a shinny lacquer finish. There isn't anything inherently magical he'll find about it, but if he looks hard and long enough, he should be able to see traces of magic and other questionable auras from being around the Shop.

Chance
Image

[All the photo credits ever to Aislyn Leavold]
A pair of ivory cubes. When cast, the dice offer advice - one will always give a hint towards escape while the other will always foreshadow danger - however the dice are only able to work with the information that Reysin himself knows, e.g. they cannot foresee only extrapolate. This functions outside of Alvadas. Earned Here
Q&A w/ Fable :
1) What happens if Rey tries to sense the dice?

It would be similar to what he might see when he looks at Aislyn; the dice are imbued with Illusionism. He would be able to see they're influenced by the same force, but beyond that they're mostly just blocks of ivory, so whatever that aura would smell and taste like.

2) Is there a particular way that it offers advice (words across faces, pictures, a single image on the top face, moving images, lolcats, etc) or does it vary, or can I choose?

This is totally up to you, though I'm partial towards lolcats if I'm being honest. Ha. But really, they're a reflection of Rey interms of images and such, so I imagine it would be similar to "inside jokes" with himself sort of thing.

3) When you say "a hint towards escape", does that mean the method of escape, or an indication as to whether the current situation requires escaping or not?

Either or or both. One will be danger in any form, the other away to avoid something. I left it a little vague so you can explore the possibilities and use it how you feel it's best used.

4) If the dice are rerolled before anything in the situation changes, will they just show the same thing, or will rerolling them produce alternate escapes/dangers if applicable?

It will never show the exact same pictures/words/lolcats but it can be similar; if there are alternatives, it is very possible it make show that instead of the first set.

5) What perspective does the dice take in giving advice? Does the advice it gives come from Rey's subconscious, or could it potentially give advice that Rey would never have thought of (through quirk of personality, not lack of information). Could it potentially suggest things that Rey would never do, even if it occurred to him? Or would it actively only provide advice that would not immediately occur to Rey?

They will provide advice using the information that Reysin has gathered in whatever capacity they feel like. Some rolls may produce obvious results while others could be close on epiphany. I have confidence you'll get some interesting rolls for sure. ;)

6) How extensively does it know what Rey knows? Do the dice take into account things that Rey had seen, but not necessarily noticed at the time? Or things that he had heard but had not realized were important? Does it take into account his state of mind at the time of rolling?

It will use information he's actively gathered and noticed, so if he saw a hole in the wall but didn't think about it after that, it would consider that information. If there was a hole in the wall he never saw, it would not consider that information. State of mind may influence the type of escape or warning, but it wouldn't solely dictate the outcome.

7) Is everything the dice suggests "feasible" for Rey, at least to some degree?

No. :)

8) Last one I promise. I assume that I can control what the dice produces for solos and regular threads. Would you, or some other storyteller take over rolling in a moderated thread?

In any thread, the dice's outcomes can be dictated by a storyteller. You have proven yourself to be a thoughtful individual, however, so I'm comfortable in trusting you to use the dice without abusing them.

Personal NPCs

Name: Kyla Snowsong
Race: Vantha
DoB: 49th of Winter, 488 AV
PoB: Avanthal, Snowsong Hold
Skills: 22 Persuasion, 14 Interrogation, 8 Teaching, 6 Hypnosis
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: The black sheep of her family, Kyla Snowsong never found much enjoyment in music or poetry. Instead, she found herself gravitating towards storytelling, of a very particular kind. After all, if you spin a nice little tale for a stranger, he might just be persuaded to part with his purse. And if you use just a little bit of magic to smooth it over, all the better. It wasn't long before Kyla found herself in trouble after a con gone wrong, though, and at the age of 18, made a hasty move away from Avanthal. She conned her way from city to city until she at last found herself at Sunberth. Harder to con the ever paranoid locals, but her skills lent themselves nicely to a different career path.
Now, she works as a specialized gatherer of information, convincing marks not to give her money, but to spill their secrets. Of course, a silver tongue can only get one so far, so Kyla had developed a habit of taking on apprentices, fledgling spies to mentor and use as bait, muscle, or backup, depending on what she needs. And when they inevitably break away to forge their own path, she sees them off with a few kind words, and a hypnotic suggestion to instill a kernel of loyalty to her. Just in case.

She met and apprenticed Rey in the spring of 511 AV.

Contacts (Alvadas)

Crow
Name: Crowley Valkir (Crow)
Race: Human
DoB: 28th of Winter, 487 AV
PoB: Zeltiva
Job: Courier (Formerly sailor)
Skills: Running - 29, Sailing - 23, Socialization - 37
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: Once a sailor on the "Silver Swan", Crow now works as a courier around the docks. Always seen with a smile on his face, he's always happy to make new friends, have a drink, and talk. And talk. And talk. The Patchwork Port's biggest gossip, Crow knows just about everyone and everything around the docks. There's only one thing he won't talk about: Why he quit being a sailor. Everything else is fair game.
Met Rey: 32nd of Winter, 514 AV

Wally
Name: Walter James (Wally)
Race: Human
DoB: 72nd of Spring, 493 AV
PoB: Alvadas
Job: Thief
Skills: Stealth - 26, Larceny - 32, Escape Artist - 15, Subterfuge - 18
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: There are countless thieves in Alvadas, as in any city. Some are excellent at what they do, able to take the shirt off your back without being caught. Others are, well, solidly mediocre. Wally falls fairly firmly into the latter category. Nevertheless, the thief is a seasoned veteran of the Underground, if not anything even remotely resembling a respected figure. He's still alive, which is more than a great many others can say.
Met Rey: 11th Of Summer, 515 AV

Hound
Name: Hound
Race: Kelvic (Bloodhound)
DoB: 19th of Winter, 514 AV
PoB: Alvadas
Job: Tracker
Skills: Tracking - 47, Stealth - 23, Larceny - 19
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: If Hound ever had a different name than the one she bears now, no one knows it, not even her. Born in the Underground, Hound was briefly one of the many urchin pickpockets that populate Alvadas, before growing too big for it. She now makes her living selling her nose to thieves and burglars and spies, tracking and following marks and targets for coin.
Met Rey: 38th Winter, 515 AV

Nyx
Name: Nyx
Race: Nuit
DoB: 74th of Summer, 429 AV
PoB: Zeltiva
Title: Magecrafter
Skills: Auristics - 38, Intelligence - 24, Subterfuge - 17, Magecraft - 46
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: A shadowy figure of unknown origin, Nyx has been a fixture of the Alvadas underground for several years now. Though Nyx is primarily a magecrafter, reagents are expensive, especially in a city so distrustful of magic. Therefore, he supplements his income with a little information brokering on the side, with a little assistance from his auristics and a hoard of paid off urchins.
Met Rey: 38th Winter, 515 AV

Mae
Name: Mae
Race: Human
DoB: 7th Spring 207 AV
PoB: Alvadas
Job: Courier
Skills: Running - 24, Leadership - 32, Intelligence - 15, Organization - 29
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: A loudmouthed, charismatic young urchin, Mae has made herself the leader of a gang of urchin runners in the Underground. She hears everything her urchins hear, and her urchins hear a lot. Though still young and unpolished, Mae seems poised to grow into a larger player in Underground politics.
Met Rey: 14th of Summer, 516 AV

Mort
Name: Mort
Race: Human
DoB: 7th Spring 207 AV
PoB: Alvadas
Job: Courier
Skills: Running - 34, Intelligence - 28, Stealth - 35
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: Mae's twin brother, Mort has spent his entire life in Mae's shadow, which is just how he likes it. Shy, observant, and often overlooked, Mort follows his sister's lead in everything they do. Though Mae often teases Mort, she is fiercely defensive of him, and he is utterly loyal to her in turn.
Met Rey: 31st of Summer, 516 AV

Blanchard
Name: Bernard Savoy (Blanchard)
Race: Human
DoB: 38th of Winter, 487 AV
PoB: Alvadas
Job: Spy
Skills: Intelligence - 43, Persuasion - 27, Seduction - 34, Disguise - 29
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: A smooth tongued spy, Blanchard is a charming ghost of the underground, appearing only for jobs, seducing the information out of his marks, then disappearing. What few denizens of the underground know is that his day to day life is above ground, as the indolent, hedonistic fourth child of a well to do merchant family. For this reason, Blanchard refuses to take jobs aboveground, for fear that his dual identity will be revealed.
Met Rey: 67th of Summer, 516 AV

100 Questions

General Information :
1. What is your Name? - Well, that depends on who you ask. To my fellow children of Siku, Yisanareysin. To others, Reysin Ekans.

2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? - You may call me Rey, if you wish. Any other pet names, I would prefer not to share

3. How old are you? - 117 years. Old enough to leave the nest, young enough to someday return.

4. What is your height? - I don't like that question. *quietly sobs over shortness*

5. What is your weight? - Depends on what form I'm in. And who I've eaten recently.

Aesthetics :
1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. - Pass. I'm not in the habit of looking at myself. I'm neither hideous nor beautiful, and leave it at that.

2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. - I don't typically ask people how I look to them. Fellow Dhani would probably see me as a standard specimen of our kind, whereas others would either see me as a regular human, or a slithering, imminent death.

3. What is your favorite body feature? - My fangs, to be sure. Not many vipers are spitters like my family.

4. How physically fit are you? - Not as physically strong as some. I'm hardly a weakling, but I'm no constrictor behemoth. I prefer to be quick and clever rather than strong.

5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? - I wear whatever will keep me warm and not make me stand out. Fashion hardly matters to me. Hai, I'm still fairly new to having clothes at all.

Family :
1. Who are your parents and what are they like? - My mother was Varisoyisana, a minor queen and mage of no small skill. In truth, I find her to be the parent I am closest too in personality, and in circumstances. She too, left the nest to explore the world, and returned with a wealth of knowledge and power. She pays more attention to my only sister, naturally, but she has always made time to teach me her sense when I needed it. She is the parent I look up to the most.

My father, Zioranysis, is a more typical Dhani male. He rarely leaves the nest except to hunt, and has never gone further than Ahnatep. He is a warrior through and through, a defender of our nest. He keeps a weapon from every person he defeats, and gifted to me, on my hundredth birthday, the flametongue from the first human he killed. He taught me what I know about fighting, and always protected me. Except, of course, for the incident, but I can hardly fault him for not noticing that I had disappeared yet again, and he did come right after me once he did notice.

2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? - My clutch was smallish, only seven hatchlings. I was the first to be born, and was followed immediately afterwards by my only sister, Yisanaziyal. She and I have been close all our lives, usually playing together. She shares my curiosity, but is far, far more level headed than I. Even after my capture and escape, she was the sensible one of us two. I like to think that, had she not been our mother's heir, she would have come with me when I left the nest. As it is I miss her dearly. A born leader, Ziyal will make a wonderful queen one day.

Casson and Gariss act like a pair of what humans call twins. As looks go they could not be more different. Casson takes after our mother's nest, as Ziyal and I do, with our neck band and fangs. Gariss is smaller, and, like father, a striker rather than a spitter. Never the less, they are almost constantly together, more than even Ziyal and I. Those two are fighters and hunters, constantly training with every weapon known to them. They were also always willing to cover for Ziyal and my adventures, or rather, were always convinced to do so by her.

Valis loves to create. He can often be found experimenting with pottery, jewelery, clay, anything he can find. His favorite is bone carving, though. He used to beg for our father to cut a few bones from every meal before we ate so he could use them. His works were rough, but oddly charming. A sweet little snake. He, too, takes after father.

I had two other brothers, once. They never made it to adulthood. I don't remember much about them, and I try not to think much about it. Best not to dwell too much on the past.

3. What is your extended family like? - I suppose all the nest is related. In which case, the answer is that my extended family is sly, politically minded, and constantly feuding.

4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? - My nest is my priority. Friends are nice and all, but blood and venom are thicker.

5. Do you treat animals like family? - Odd question, considering that I am a snake. Generally, animals are for eating. Snakes can be cute pets, but my real family comes first.

Location :
1. Where were you born? - I was born in the sands of Eyktol, in the viper nest near Ahnatep. I am a creature of the dry sands and blazing sun.

2. Where do you live now? - I reside in Alvadas, currently. A wonderful, fascinating city, if far too chilly for my liking. I could see myself staying here for quite some time. With a warm coat.

3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be? - An odd question. I will eventually return to the nest, naturally. Until that time, I wander where the wind takes me.

4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time? - No? If we are going to be very technical, I am on an extended vacation, you could say.

5. Where do you fear to be? - I have heard horrifying stories of the jungles of Falyndar, rumors passed on by those who have spoken to the Viper ambassador to the jungle. Myrians on one side, Constrictors on the other, and hot and wet to boot. I pray to Siku I need never go there.

Traits :
1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs?) - Scars, I have. Most are minor, almost nothing, save for one. This one, on my right cheek, is the most recent, and the deepest. The healers at Ionu's Mercy are good, however, and it has healed fairly well.

2. Are you right handed or left handed? - Right handed, though I do try to train my left hand.

3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent? - I speak Snake, fluently, of course. My common is understandable, though still improving, and there is a hissss to my words. Arumenic I know bits and pieces of, but not much.

4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? - I hope not. I prefer to go around unnoticed when I can.

5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them)? - I rather like the idea of a tattoo, but have never found anything that particularly strikes me. A piercing is a nuisance in shifting, so no.

Occupations :
1. What is your occupation? - Hmm, who wants to know? I am a spy, of sorts. People come to me with questions, and I find the answers they seek. A decently paying job, and one that satisfies my natural curiosity.

2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why? - If I disliked it, why could I continue doing it? I love my work. It suits me perfectly.

3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be? - .... A better spy, perhaps. If I wanted to be anything else, I would do that instead.

4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why? - I admire those who make their living by being strong or talented or clever. Any job that could not be done by just anyone is a worthy one.

5. What occupation do you least like? Why? - Simple, manual labor is necessary, sure, but deserves little respect.

Childhood :
1. What sort of child were you? - A curious, overly active one. I was the one child constantly getting lost. Once, my parents lost me for several bells, only to find me jabbering away at the head of a neighboring nest. She took no offense, thank Siku.

2. What is your favorite memory from childhood? - One of the many misadventures my sister and I got up to, most likely. Perhaps the one where we tricked Casson into eating a dung beetle. Or maybe when we stole two of father's daggers and played at being adventurers.

3. What is your worst memory from childhood? - There is the incident, of course. But then... I suppose the absolute worst memory of my childhood was when my brothers died. I don't remember much, just that it was devastating, for all of us. Sometimes, when I try to think about it, I can almost feel this... blockage in my mind. I try not to dwell on it. They are dead and gone, their bones picked clean, while I am alive still.

4. What sort of relationship did you have with your parents? - I loved my parents dearly, and they loved me. I am closer to my mother, though, and I am, I think, her favorite son. I suppose that was to be expected, given how close Ziyal and I were.

5. Who was your most influential rolemodel? - Again, my mother

Education :
1. What sort of education do you have? - I was educated by my parents, and by the nest's school teachers.

2. Do you like/dislike learning? - I adore learning new facts and skills. Mastering them, perhaps less so.

3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities? - Either in the nest, or through trial and error.

4. How do you learn best?

5. What are your educational goals for the future?

Relationships :
1. Do you form close bonds with people? Why? Why not? - I am capable of forming bonds, certainly. Close ones, even. But so many of the people I meet are simply boring, and those that are not have such short lifespans. If I met someone I found worth the time though, why not? A life lived alone is so very dreary.

2. Do you trust people easily? If not, why not? - I've learned my lesson about trusting strangers. But I like to think that I'm a good enough judge of character to be able to sort out the good from the bad.

3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else? - My duty is to mate a female of my own race, to breed a new generation of vipers. In the meantime though, I see no reason to limit myself. There are so many pleasures to be had, after all.

4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time. - Never, I'm afraid. One day.

5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time. - I've yet to partake in such pleasures.

Drugs and Alcohol :
1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time. - I drink infrequently, and I have only been truly drunk once in my life. I threw up on my sister, and in retaliation, she convinced me to tie myself into a knot. The struggle I went through to untangle myself later, and the scales I nearly ripped off, were enough to convince me never to do that again.

2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis? - Only a little. Luckily, my kind process alcohol surprisingly well, and it takes quite a bit to get me even tipsy.

3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer? - Wine. Call me a snob, but I grew up next to Ahnatep. Good wine was never too hard to find.

4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them? - After seeing those Dusk Eaters at the Pillars? I think not.

5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific. - I see no reason to restrict such things, but I would never use or imbibe to the point where my judgement would be compromised.

Likes and Dislikes :
1. What are your hobbies?

2. Do you like to read?

3. What annoys you more than anything else?

4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do?

5. What kinds of things embarrass you? Why?

Favorites :
1. What is your favorite color or colors?

2. What is your favorite time of day?

3. What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? - My mother would sometimes take my sister and I to Ahnatep. One such visit, we stayed a little later than usual, until the very late afternoon. We slithered down the green and blue leading into the desert , and when I turned to look back at the city, I saw the Lady of Ahnatep, crowned by the setting sun, the diadem held above her head glimmering. That is the image I hold in my head any tine I think of Ahnatep.

4. What do you like to eat? What do you hate to eat? - Rabbit is so very succulent, if a tad small and annoying to hunt. Human meat is harder to come by, but so very good as well. Lizards, on the other hand, are boney and unappetizingly bland.

5. What is your favorite type of weather? Does any kind scare you? - One does not survive the desert without gaining a healthy fear of sandstorms. And the snow is never good for a serpent, especially not a desert one. I do so love sunny days though.

Outlook :
1. Are you optimistic or pessimistic? - I like to think of myself as a realist. In actuality though, I suppose I am an optimist. I have faith in my own ability to wiggle out of any situation I find myself in.

2. What are your religious views? - The gods are many and varied, and it is only a matter of who suits one's personality. Their machinations are far beyond us. All we can do is attempt to aid those we worship.

3. Would you be able to kill? - *Hysterical laughing*

4. What are your views on sex? - The theory sounds good, but I'll hold judgement until I have practical experience

5. What, in your opinion, makes a successful life?

Actions :
1. What is the worst and best thing you’ve ever done?

2. What is your greatest regret?

3. What is your best/worst memory?

4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why?

5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life?

Emotions :
1. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings with others? - Honesty from me would disgust most. Secrets are for me to find, not give away.

2. Do you have any biases or prejudices? - My larger rattler and constrictor cousins are ignorant brutes. And the zith are mindless predators. Not that that's a bad thing necessarily.

3. What makes you happy?

4. Who or what, if anything, would you die for? - Not much. My nest, perhaps, or Siku. Both with great reluctance.

5. What makes you angry?

Relationships :
1. In general, how do you treat others?

2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?

3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?

4. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover.

5. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why

Group Situations :
1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?

2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?

3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?

4. Do you care what others think of you?

5. What do you think of others, in general?

Self Image :
1. What is your greatest strength as a person? - I persevere. I cannot ever remember having given up.

2. What is your greatest weakness? - I sometimes forget that I can be endangered. I always think my actions through, but I am occasionally overconfident in my own abilities. So far it has not led to anything life threatening. More than once, it easily could have.

3. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? - Make myself more cautious, I suppose, if I could do so without curbing my curiosity. If not... make myself quick or clever or powerful enough that there is nothing I need to fear.

4. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? - I enjoy the company of others. Very much so. Being alone bores me, in truth.

5. Are you generally organized or messy? - I like things to be neat. It makes everything easier.

Beliefs :
1. What God or Goddess do you find most appealing, if any? - You wish for me to chose one? Impossible. I worship Lady Siku of course, as my kind always do. She is our mother, our creator, and to her we owe all we are. So too, do we respect her mother, Caiyha, whose bounty of prey keeps us fed, and to whose embrace our corpses return to. But there is also Akajia, Queen of the shadows and the secrets. In her domain I find that which brings me joy. She is the goddess of my choosing, of my passion. And finally Ionu the unknowable, Ionu the trickster. Ionu, whose fair city I have come to adore, who reminds me of the hardest lesson I ever had to learn: Things are rarely ever what they seem.

2. Which God or Goddess do you fear, if any? - Fear? I have never opposed any of the gods, at least as far as I know. Why would any of them pay me any mind?

3. Do you have any Gnosis Marks? If so, how did you receive them? - I am unmarked, to my shame. Someday, I hope to honor Lady Siku enough that she would bestow her mark on me. Perhaps... if the fates permit, I may even be marked by some other deities.

4. What lengths would you go to to please your deity? - Mm, which one? For Siku, I would do anything. I have maimed and killed in her name, without any regrets. For Ionu and Akajia.. I cannot say for certain, but I believe I would do anything that did not betray my higher loyalty to my race and Siku

5. Where do you draw the line at pleasing your deity? What is too much? - Even for Siku, I would be reluctant to give my life. At least, not without knowing it was for a truly meaningful reason.

Life & Death :
1. What do you absolutely live for? - The thrill of pursuing a secret, and the triumph of having earned it.

2. What is the best part of life? - The endless possibilities before you.

3. What is the best part of death? - The ultimate knowledge of what comes after.

4. If you could choose, how would you want to die? - Either of old age, or bested by someone greater than I.

5. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? - That my life and death mattered, that one way or another, the nest is changed for my having lived and died there.
