The Shield Point System

The Shield Point System is used to keep track of the standing those associated with the Syliran Knights. Be they a Squire or a fully fledged Knight these points represent a multitude of things.

First and foremost they represent reputation. A player’s standing amongst the Knighthood. The amount of points that a player has can be translated into how they are regarded by NPC Knights when approached by them. A player with a high amount of points may be regarded with an equally high amount of respect whereas a player with a very low amount or even negative points may be regarded with slight distaste or stiffness.

How to gain/lose Shield Points? :

Positive points:

Honorable Deed Points:
+1 to +5 points for training threads. In case of Solo, minimum of 4 decent posts (400 - 500 words each posts).
+2 to +6 points for patrolling. This only applies to actual patrols, if they say my PC spend all day patrolling and now he's going to train. Nope. If they say, my PC spend all day patrolling, and now he's going to the stallion, nope. For points in this, they have to actually patrol in a thread. In case of Solo, minimum of 2 - 3 decent posts (400 - 500 words each posts).
+1 points for threads with their patron. The patron must be in a significant part of the thread.
+2 to +10 points for helping the people of the city. This could be in quest, modded threads, or something they did in their own threads. Solving disputes, breaking up brawls, hunting bandits, helping with a difficult task with no promise of reward, altruistic deeds, taking people to the tank, etc.
+5 points if they recruit someone into joining the Knighthood, but this has to be done IC. (Recruit PC squires only)
+2 to +6 points in a thread where a Knight trains their squire (Train PC squires only)
+1 to +3 point if a Knight takes the time to train a squire that isn't theirs. (Train PC squires only)
+5 to +20 bonus points for outstanding acts of bravery or heroism. This can be done by both Knights and Squires. (Modded threads only)
+1 to +5 bonus points for same as above. (Prompts only)

Extraordinary Deed Points:
+200 points for Squires who completed their knighting quest. PCs who started as Knights can do a modded Flashback Knighting quest to get the points as well.
+50 points for a Knight who actually trains a squire from start to them going on their Knighting quest. The squire doesn't actually have to pass the Knighting quest. (Mentor PC squires only), Bonus +50 points if the squire passed the Knighting quest and becomes a full-fledged Knight.
+50 Points for a Knight who gains a promotion, with +50 increment for each rank starting from "Knight". (e.g: Knight -> Sergeant Knight promotion nets +50 points, Sergeant Knight -> Stewart Knight promotion nets +100 points, and so on. See the lore on Knight ranks for details).

Gnosis-related Deed Points:
+100 points for Knights/Squires who gain a level in these gnosis, with +100 Increment for each level (e.g: L1 nets +100 points, L2 nets +200 points, and so on):

Seasonal Challenge Points:
+3 Points for each Seasonal Challenges completed
+20 extra Points if All Seasonal Challenges are completed.

Negative Points:
-2 to -5 points for ignoring a plea for help
-5 to - 10 points for ridiculing an innocent citizen.
-10 to -40 points for assaulting an innocent.
-50 points for grievously harming an innocent on purpose.
-2 to -10 Points for mouthing off to a superior
-1 to -5 points for damaging city property (or something along those lines)
-1 to -10 Points for Conduct Unbecoming of a Knight/Squire (Arrogance, apathy, greed, etc)
-All points removal, expulsion from the Order for murdering an innocent on purpose, possible follow-up punishments.
-All points removal, Ban from Syliras or Capital Punishment for acts of betrayal or high treason against the Order.

The points can be “cashed in”. This process can only be done in cooperation with the moderation staff.

Players should note that for some rewards that require quests, just because they ask for something doesn't necessarily mean that they are going to get it. STs will see if their actions deserved the reward or not.

Rewards :

Adventurous (0-100 Pts.)
+10 pts: A shiny new polish for their armor and weapons
+30 pts: A new weapon of the Squire/Knight's choosing. The material is made with steel or cold iron.
+50 pts: A new horse valuing no more than 200 GM. Breed chosen by ST
+100 pts: A new Tiaden Warhorse, fully armored

Heroic (101-300 Pts.)
+135 pts: A Nightwalker warhorse
+180 pts: A normal quality magecrafted accessory made by the Dra-Kalinor Laboratory. Type and effect chosen by ST.
+230 pts: A new weapon/armor of the Squire/Knight's choosing. The material is made with steel or cold iron, and marked with 1 Izentor.
+300 pts: A magecrafted accessory/armor/weapon of the finest quality made by Dra-Kalinor laboratory from the finest ingredients. Type of weapon chosen by PC, magecraft effect chosen by ST.

Legendary (301-500+ Pts.)
+400 pts: (Quest) The Squire/Knight underwent a quest to procure a powerful artifact from the Aylasa Abyss. Artifact chosen by ST.
+500 and beyond pts: This one's going to be epic. I think if someone ever manages to save up this much, their reward should be very unique. Up to the acting DS/RS of course.

Punishments :

Disliked (-1 to -100 pts)
-30 pts: Rumors will start flying around regarding your questionable deeds.
-60 pts: Some knights and squires will look at you funny.
-80 pts: Some knights and squires loses faith in you. It's still not too late to redeem yourself.

Dubious (-101 to -200 pts)
-120 pts: Most knights and squires loses faith in you. You better fix things up and fast.
-150 pts: All knights, even your patron Knight and Loren Dyres himself loses faith in you. By Sylir, what have you done?
-180 pts: By now, even the citizens of Syliras do not respect you any longer, they will obey you out of gratitude for the Syliran Order in general, you are still technically one of them after all.

Villain (-201 pts and beyond)
-210 pts: Stripped from your rank, you will become an Unranked Knight. In case of a squire, you are kicked from the Order and banned from Syliras. If you come back within the vicinity of Syliras, the ex-squire will be struck down on sight.
-230 pts : In case of a Knight, you are kicked from the Order. The ex-knight will then be given a head start, an honorable chance to flee, and hunted down to the border of Sylirian lands with the intent to protect the honor and sanctity of the knighthood. If you are caught you will be struck down, if you return to vicinity of Syliras or are recognized by a knight abroad, the ex-knight will be struck down on sight. Thou shalt be smitten, dishonorable cur!

Important notes:

-Shield points can only be awarded to threads made after 7th of October 2013 in IRL calendar. Flashback also counts if the PC was already a Knight/Squire back when the FB took place, the thread's IRL date just have to be later than 7th of October 2013. Exceptions are only applied for Knighting Quests that had been started before the aforementioned date.

-All Knight/Squire PCs must keep track of their own Shield Points in their CS as well.

-Please also inquire here if you are Knight/Squire, but your name hasn't been listed.

-If a PC retires or IC-ly left the Knighthood, then their current points are considered null and void.

-Please include the source for all shield point awards. Also remember to award negative shield points separately for acts of dishonor.

For example, say a player was training with his patron and then went on patrol they would have three sources, Training, Threading with their patron and going on patrol. This might get broken down like so:

The Syliran Knights are a highly organized military order and therefore, they have ranks.

A Knight's rank is displayed by the use of silver pins in the shape of a sword, shield, or tree, worn on the right collar of one's tunic. Pins are distinguished as follows:
