The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Rulers

The Twuele Shinyama Peak

Zintila
ImageName: Zintila
Race: Alvina
Occupation: Goddess of the stars, ruler of Lhavit

Beautiful, tall, and statuesque, Zintila has pale, glittering skin, hair like the night, and golden eyes that seem to contain the stars themselves. Zintila is the Alvina ruler of Lhavit, fallen Goddess of the stars. She rules the city from the top floor of the Twuele, and often makes appearances at festivals or events of importance.

Note: Zintila CANNOT be used by players. A domain ST or higher must moderate any use of Zintila. If you're interested in interacting with Zintila, contact your ST for more information.

Aysel
ImageName: Aysel
Race: Ethaefal (Night)/Benshira (Day)
Birthdate: 0 AV
Birthplace: The Ahger Ocean
Occupation: Co-ruler of Lhavit
Gnosis: 2 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 2), 1 mark of Leth (Telepathy level 1)
Skills: Interrogation - 43, Mountaineering - 38, Rhetoric - 64, Weapon (Dao Sword) - 51, Wilderness Survival (Forest, Mountains) - 32
Languages: Common (Fluent), Shiber (Basic)

Aysel seems a cynical character at first, always throwing about quick-witted remarks in a way that makes one doubt whether they are even jokes or not. Sure enough, the Ethaefal is almost always joking, an attitude that leads many Lhavitians to doubt his position until the time comes for Lhavit to face a problem. At this point, Aysel reacts with such speed and composure that his 500 years of experience leading the city becomes painstakingly clear. He does not argue with those who challenge his authority; he simply waits, and lets time show the fruits of a decision well-made.

When his presence is not required during the day, Aysel enjoys offering a helping hand to expeditions in the Misty Peaks, finding that aid is always needed when one ventures too far from the city's welcoming gates.

During his nighttime reign, Aysel stands at an impressive height of 7'2”. This does not even include his horns, which rise vertically from his temples. His silver-eyed gaze is reminiscent of the moon itself, surrounded by wispy hair that changes color with the seasons along with his horns. He wears dark, undecorated robes that contrast with his pale skin, which seems to almost glow with the reflection of moonlight.

SeasonHair ColourHorn Colour
SummerBlackGreen
AutumnRed-goldYellow
WinterWhiteBlack
SpringSilver-blueWhite

In his earthbound form, Aysel wanders the streets of Lhavit as a Benshira human with an under-average height and skinny build. Clad in all-black as he is in Ethaefel form, this man is almost a shadow save for his sky-blue eyes which stare through people in the same calm, confidant manner of his moonlit form.

Old as the Valterrian itself, the newly fallen Ethaefal barely had any time to put himself together before Leth called upon his aid, taking little time to explain the damage done to his celestial home that caused the Ethaefal's fall in the first place. He directed him to the stranded fishing village that now found itself amidst thousands of rising peaks, asking him to follow him as he had once done in a past life. The Ethaefal complied and led the people to safety along with Talora, a Syna-born Ethaefel who found herself in a similar predicament. Though the two were young and confused, they hid their unsureness from the humans, who were amazed by their surreal beauty and immediately put them in positions of leadership.

The beginnings of Talora and Aysel's relationship was tumultuous to say the least.; but years passed, and Aysel and Talora eventually learned to work well together and coordinate their leadership effectively. Though they do not show many signs of friendship, it is clear that immortality they share has brought them closer together.

Talora
ImageName: Talora
Race: Ethaefal (Day)/Human (Night)
Birthdate: 0 AV
Birthplace: The Ahger Ocean
Occupation: Co-ruler of Lhavit
Gnosis: 2 marks of Syna (Inavalti level 2), 1 mark of Zintila (Akarni level 1)
Skills: Gardening - 47, Herbalism - 30, Leadership - 98, Medicine - 30, Shielding - 62
Languages: Common (Fluent)

While Aysel receives respect and admiration from the population, Talora is on the receiving end of an enormous amount of love and devotion from her people. This is because she has an endless reserve of love to give, a virtue that has proved to also be a flaw in her lifetime. Even after 500 years of existence, the hopeful Ethaefal still has a heavy heart when making the more grim, realistic decisions needed to keep the city on its feet. Which isn't to say that she hasn't learned, for she can be commanding and stern when she needs to be.

Talora is almost a sun on her own when in her Ethaefal form, skin glowing with highlights of gold and shades of rose, her hair falling in waves down past her shoulders, with warm golden eyes. Her horns are delicate in appearance, moving horizontally along her head like a celestial hair ornament, with locks often caught gracefully among their curves and angles. She often wears subtle floral patterns on her dresses, though she never allows herself to be extravagant in her choice of clothing.

SeasonHair ColourHorn Colour
SummerGoldWhite
AutumnRedGold
WinterBrownGreen
SpringWhite-blondeLilac

During the hours of night, Talora is reduced to the form of a doe-eyed girl of short, pale blonde hair. She looks as though she is barely out of her teenage years, freckled and imperfect. Even in this lesser form, Talora has garnered love by spending the night tending to the fluorescent gardens around the city, always helping those she passes without hesitation.

Legend among the Lhavitian people claim Talora to have supposedly been the very first Ethaefal to slip through the cracks of Syna's damaged abode. She arrived on the shores of Mizahar naïve and scared, and when Syna appeared to her after what felt like an eternity wandering aimlessly, she expected her goddess to aid her, to bring her back to her celestial home. Instead, Syna instructed her to guide a lost tribe in Kalea to safety among the newly formed Misty Peaks. Anxious at first, she slowly gained confidence upon seeing how much the people relied on her, how they blindly trusted her simply because she was a divine beauty sent by a goddess.

Working with Aysel, however, was a difficult task. He constantly berated her for being too soft and gentle, the worst about his negative comments being that he was often right. Talora would always choose that which brought the least harm to her people, but these solutions offered only short term release before coming back down on the fragile civilization harder. As a result of the many clumsy decisions made during the beginning of Talora's reign, the Ethaefal learned to heed even the advice of the cynical Aysel, and that sometimes she had to do things she didn't like for the ultimate good of the people she so loved.

The Constellations

The Twuele Shinyama Peak

Nilen
ImageName: Nilen
Race: Human
Birthdate: 476 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Saya (Leader) of the Akka and priestess of Zintila
Gnosis: 3 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 3), 1 mark of Syna (Inavalti level 1)
Skills: Architecture - 90, Construction - 70, Leadership - 60, Masonry - 50, Physics - 80, Sculpting - 40, Teaching - 30
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Nilen is known to be a warm and welcoming presence. As the head of the Akka she is well known within the city, and as a result is very transparent. It isn't uncommon to find her start up a conversation with any citizen, and especially children. This Saya has a particular fondness of the young ones of the city and is very trusted with them.

When she is not working, it's not uncommon to find this full grown adult tossing a ball or playing hide and seek in the park. This playful demeanor shows through all aspects of her life. Even with adults, Nilen is usually only found joking around or being silly, even in serious conversation. She is the one to lift spirits in almost any situation and often knows exactly how to do it without making it awkward. While seriousness is rare to come by, Nilen shows a great affinity for leadership. She makes those around her comfortable and as a result can direct progress very easily.

As the Saya of the Akka, Nilen plays an important role in both the cult of the Constellations and Lhavit's politics. One may think that the woman in charge of construction is not usually involved in the heavier politics of the city, but being one of Zintila's most trusted Priests, Nilen is often consulted by high authoritative figures. Alongside the other two Saya, Nilen is trusted to make decisions representing the Constellations and the whole of the Akka. She is one of Zintila's most devoted and therefore one of her trusted voices.

Being in charge of the city's layout also holds its own responsibility. Nilen is tasked with overseeing all plans and construction from the Reta, Cala, and Terl of the Akka. She has mastered the unique ability to build with skyglass and the intriguing architecture that covers the tops of as well as hangs off the side of the five Peaks.

Born and raised in Lhavit, some may say she hasn't had a terribly exciting life. Born the daughter of one of the Seiza's Cala, it was no surprise that she followed in her father's footsteps, joining the Constellations. But of course, she chose a different direction, using her analytical mind and artistic abilities to benefit the city as best she could.

When Nilen turned twenty, she married a young Shinya warrior by the name of Kisern. Still happily married, the couple had been through trials in their relationship, from miscarriages to the return of past lovers. However, because of the constant chaos that made up the governmental factions of Lhavit during their careers, the two stayed together. Becuase of this, many Lhavitians look up to Nilen during hard times.

Johelm
ImageName: Johelm
Race: Human
Birthdate: 451 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Saya (Leader) of the Seiza and priest of Zintila
Gnosis: 3 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 3), 2 marks of Tyveth (Truthism level 2)
Skills: History - 50, Interrogation - 55, Law - 90, Leadership - 70, Politics - 80, Rhetoric - 60, Teaching - 35
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Johelm is the image of balance. Although by now the man can be considered old, Johelm has always been told he was an old soul in a young body. Unlike the other Saya, he can be mistaken for somber and sad, although the opposite is true. Johelm is one to bear difficulty with great ease and an excellent mediator.

Like the Seiza are meant to be, he seeks only the truth with the purpose of bettering his beloved city. And because of his famous impartiality, Johelm can be seen as an ally to some and an enemy to other. Although in his view, and that of the general Seiza members, Johelm is completely independent of good or evil, only seeking the truth, however bitter or sweet it may be. Unlike the other governmental factions, Johelm holds a strict importance on justice through truth, not perceived rights or wrongs. With this in mind, the man is a pacifist, which shows in the decisions made by him and the other members of the Seiza.

Johelm knows he is not the law-maker. Nor is he the one who enforces it. But as the decider of truth, he becomes the mediator between right and wrong. As a result, his work is usually final, and his advice is always listened to. Although he is utterly equal in power to the other Saya, Johelm is listened to by the leaders of all factions. Even the three towers will come to him for advice, even if they no longer play a part in the political arena.

Johelm is believed to mirror Zintila's view on most things and is respected because of it. His decisions reflect on most of Lhavit, as does his pacifist nature. Despite the recent upheaval of the city's politics, Johelm struggled to keep the judicial sect pure and fair, even if the rest of Lhavit was in chaos. For the most part, he has succeeded in that. However, he was recently unable to keep the Tenya with the same demeanor during Hayani's rule.

Johelm was born and raised in Lhavit, just like most of the city's citizens. As a young man, Johelm wished to be a merchant, hoping to lessen the isolation of the city. But as he proved to be a horrible navigator, and quickly realized the impossibility of the task, Johelm had to search for a different occupation. Out of curiosity, he took an interest in the Constellations, although he was not a very religious young man.

Once Johelm began to grow more and more interested in Zintila and her faith, he committed very quickly to the cult. Being so wise, he quickly rose in ranks with many of the Constellations listening to him. It was only natural that he followed the judiciary route and was not challenged when Zintila chose him to become Saya at the young age of twenty-six. Since than, like the other two Saya's, Johelm has held a very close relationship with Lhavit's patron Alvina.

Since Hayani's death, Johelm has worked very hard to restore the balance in Lhavit through his role within the city and has gained considerably more recognition from Zintila as a result. Many believe that the Goddess has approached him for championship, but in favor of balance, the wise man had turned down the opportunity. Although no one can confirm this rumor, many are willing to believe it.

Seanja
ImageName: Seanja
Race: Human
Birthdate: 467 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Saya (Leader) of the Tenya and priestess of Zintila
Gnosis: 3 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 3), 1 mark of Leth (Telepathy level 1), 1 mark of Syna (Inavalti level 1)
Skills: Astrology - 90, Fortune Telling - 50, Glassworking - 40, Leadership - 80, Philosophy - 70, Storytelling - 60, Teaching - 30
****************************Languages: Common (Fluent)

Seanja is a rather mysterious character; despite her role in the Constellations demanding her to interact with the citizens of Lhavit regularly, she is somewhat aloof and distant. That being said, it is this aura of mystery and intrigue that attracts so many to her. While aloof, Seanja is far from shy or quiet; she enjoys serious and intellectual discussions with others, particularly on the subject of philosophy and religion.

She is always keeping a keen eye out for those who worship and serve Zintila faithfully; when she finds these people, she tends to offer them fortune telling readings with either the astrological oracle deck or lapis lazuli runic stones she carries with her everywhere.

Seanja tends to work more among the people of Lhavit; marked by both the sun Goddess and the moon God, she can be found wandering the city's peaks at any time of day. She is most often at one of the various temples scattered through the city.

Despite her role of spreading the word and religion of Zintila, Seanja is not a preacher. Rather, she allows those who are curious to come to her, and will happily talk of the Star Lady from there.

Seanja was born and raised in Lhavit; both of her parents, surprisingly enough, were Ethaefal. Her father was of Leth's domain, while her mother came from Syna's; as a result, she grew to know a great deal about both religions while growing up, and worshiped both deities regularly.

Gravitation towards Zintila and the Constellations was only natural; Seanja found herself among the Constellations quickly, and her quiet but strong desire to spread the faith of Zintila eventually found her in her current position.

Esther
ImageName: Esther
Race: Human
Birthdate: 485 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Cala (Member) of the Akka
Gnosis: 2 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 2)
Skills: Architecture - 50, Calligraphy - 40, Cosmetology - 45, Drawing - 62, Floristry - 30, Gardening - 28, Observation - 82, Organization - 75, Painting - 22, Sewing - 55
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Esther is a woman with dark skin, long, flowing, deep brown hair, and warm amber eyes. She dresses in elaborate and dramatic yet still somehow elegant and tasteful clothing, and favours bold statement pieces.

Beauty has long since fascinated Esther; her mother was a seamstress, and her father was an artist. Growing up, she admired art of all kinds, and admired anything pretty, be it painting, house, or dress. She admired Zintila from a young age as well, after seeing the Alvina at an event briefly and being quite literally starstruck by her sheer beauty and elegance.

With a natural and keen eye for beauty, Esther seems to know perfectly what goes with what, even if people have their doubts when they first hear her suggestions. Wanting to make the city more beautiful for everyone, including herself and Zintila, she joined the ranks of the Constellations at a fairly young age, advancing quickly to the Akka sect.

Esther is responsible for some of the more eccentric and daring yet still beautiful pieces of architecture found throughout the city. She isn't afraid to be bold and try new things, and more often than not, it pays off. She is precise and detail-oriented, and perhaps sometimes come off slightly snobbish, but she's truly a kind person who just wants to make everyone and everything around her better. She doesn't sugarcoat the truth when she finds something unattractive, but she also doesn't hold back when she does find something attractive, easily gushing praise.

She is, despite her somewhat blunt nature, still considerate of others, and is always mindful to criticize only what can be changed when it comes to people, such as clothing or make-up; you'll never hear her utter a single bad word about someone's actual physical appearance.

Danica
ImageName: Danica
Race: Mixed blood (Benshira/Eypharian)
Birthdate: 494 AV
Birthplace: Wadrass
Occupation: Reta (Member) of the Tenya
Gnosis: 3 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 3)
Skills: Auristics - 50, Investigation - 30, Leadership - 28, Musical Instrument (Flute) - 35, Negotiation - 65, Observation - 42, Persuasion - 55, Singing - 45, Socialization - 70, Songcraft - 32
Languages: Common (Fluent), Shiber
****************************(Fluent), Arumenic (Poor)

Danica is a short woman who tends towards the thicker side, with a round face, wavy brown hair usually tied up in a bun, fair, glowy skin, and bright amber eyes. Despite a somewhat plain appearance and her plain manner of dress, she is rather pretty. To anyone who doesn't know better, she appears to be just a regular human; however, her eyes and the faint, wonderful amber and spice smell that seems to cling to her tell a different story.

Danica was born to an Eypharian father and a Benshira mother in Wadrass. Her father didn't stick around for long, leaving when she was still a child, and her mother was left to raise her alone. Wanting a new and better life for Danica, her mother packed them up and sent them on a journey. Eventually, they landed in Lhavit.

Growing up, Danica knew she was different, even if she didn't particularly look it. She was hyper-aware of her Eypharian ancestry, and hated the associations it came with. To this day, she is still deeply uncomfortable with that part of her; so she dresses plainly, without make-up or jewelry, and keeps her hair in a messy bun in order to seem as plain as possible. It doesn't always work as well as she would like, but it helps somewhat.

However, eventually Danica found her calling in the Constellations. She learned to use her natural charm to her advantage; not via seduction, but in other ways, like persuasion and purely platonic but engaging socialization. She also learned she could use that to her advantage when it came to spreading Zintila's message. Somewhat due to her natural charms, Danica is a natural public speaker and does well with attention on her, despite hating attention when she is in one-on-one situations. She greatly enjoys spreading Zintila's message throughout Lhavit, and deeply believes in the Star Lady and her wisdom.

Despite her confidence in crowds, Danica is much shyer one-on-one, and she is rather timid and soft-spoken, though still friendly and enthusiastic. She has a deep love of music, and can gladly discuss the topic for hours.

Koten Temple Zintia Peak

Nemue
ImageName: Nemue
Race: Ethaefal (Night)/Drykas (Day)
Birthdate: 214 AV
Birthplace: The Suvan Sea
Occupation: Priestess of Zintila at the Koten Temple
Gnosis: 3 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 3)
Skills: Auristics - 60, Leadership - 55, Philosophy - 32, Politics - 50, Rhetoric - 45, Weapon (Dagger) - 15
Languages: Common (Fluent), Pavi (Fluent)

Nemue is a quiet, contemplative soul. She always has a serious expression on, and is very calm and deliberate in all she does. She is also very honest and genuine; she never bothers to sugarcoat the truth, but nor is she needlessly cruel. Instead, she strives to simply be as honest and open as possible, and to help those who come to her as best as she can.

At night, Nemue is moderately tall at an even 6'0"; her eyes are a deep, vivid indigo, and her pale skin is smooth like marble. Her silky hair is always smoothed back and down, tied in a secure knot at the base of her neck, and her horns stretch up and back in a twist.

SeasonHair ColourHorn Colour
SummerBlackGreen
AutumnOrange-goldYellow
WinterSilverBlack
SpringLavender-greyWhite

During the day, Nemue takes the form of a short woman with dirty blonde hair and bright green eyes. Her skin is tanned, and every inch covered in pale scars or intricate, beautiful tattoos; this has made her very recognizable, and once someone sees her mortal seeming, they don't easily forget it.

Nemue is an Ethaefal of Leth who fell into the Suvan Sea near Alvadas; she spent some time there, but eventually found her way to Lhavit, where she decided to stay. She has been a loyal follower of Zintila for many years. Under Hayani's rule as Anchorite, she found herself uncertain; she was close to the older Ethaefal, but found her ideas off-putting. After the Day of Discord, Nemue watched Hayani slowly lose herself; but close as she was to the Anchorite and trusted by her, she attempted to do damage control.

In the end, it didn't work. Nemue grew further and further from Hayani, disgusted and afraid by the other Ethaefal's actions and growing madness, and was almost relieved when the day came that the Anchorite was put to the sword. While Nemue remains to have only three marks from Zintila, she has unofficially taken over Hayani's previous position at the temple, becoming an unofficial leader of the other priests and priestesses there. There are whispered rumours that when Zintila feels the time is right, she will become the next Anchorite, but for now they remain that way; simply rumours.

Hayani
★ ★ ★Note: As of spring 513 AV, Hayani was executed due to madness, power corruption, and treasonous activities; therefore, she may only be used in flashbacks prior to this date, and only with ST permission.

ImageName: Hayani
Race: Ethaefal (Night)/Human (Day)
Birthdate: 132 AV
Birthplace: The Ahger Ocean
Occupation: Priestess and previous Anchorite of Zintila at the Koten Temple
Gnosis: 3 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 3), 2 marks of Leth (Telepathy level 2)
Skills: Hypnotism - 71, Politics - 38, Projection - 60, Reimancy (Air, water) - 34, Rhetoric - 33, Subterfuge - 51
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Hayani is an odd Ethaefal indeed, for she was one of the few that did not see her fall as a mistake. One of Leth's fallen, she quickly came to accept her fate, seeing it as a way for to serve her gods in the mortal realm. On the surface, she is kind, generous and infinitely patient, with eyes that speak of centuries long passed. But do not let her placid appearance fool you. Within she roils with feeling and furthermore, discontent. Following the Day of Discord, she was stripped of her position as Anchorite and left as an example. Zintila reclaimed a single gnosis mark, demoting her from the current champion to a priestess.

Hayani is as divine as a fallen star can be. During Leth's reign, she exudes an opalescent sheen on her skin, pale and shimmering, colder and fairer than ice. Her hair too, changes colors during the season, and her iridescent horns are double-pronged. Hayani's eyes are a brilliant shade of silver, and her expressions seem usually serene. At 6'2", she towers over many other people.

SeasonHair ColourHorn Colour
WinterSilver-whiteViolet
SpringSilver-blueWhite
SummerBlackGreen
AutumnWhite-goldYellow

During the day, Hayani takes the form of an olive-skinned woman with almond-shaped grey eyes and black hair. In this mortal form, she stands at 5'8", with a slender figure and delicate hands. She walks with an air of grace no matter the form and she seems to radiate a deep, unwavering note of pride.

Sayim
★ ★ ★Note: As of spring 513 AV, Sayim was killed alongside his bondmate; therefore, he may only be used in flashbacks prior to this date.

ImageName: Sayim
Race: Kelvic (Okomo)
Birthdate: 513 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Bondmate and mount to Hayani
Skills: Hypnotism - 62, Investigation - 42, Morphing - 21, Subterfuge - 21, Unarmed Combat - 31
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Sayim is Hayani's Okomo Kelvic bondmate and mount. He is devoted utterly to her, and accompanies anywhere she might go. He may appear intimidating to some, towering even taller than Hayani at 6'4", and many citizens tend to move out of his way should he approach them on the streets. He is known to be stubborn and blunt, albeit a strict herbivore. At times, Sayim is prone to outbursts, frequently threatening those who might get in his way, but a gentle hand from Hayani quickly steadies his temper. Sayim's hair is a dark gradient of blue to purple, the same as his fur when he is in his Okomo form.

Occupation: Worker at the Shinyama Monastery
Skills: Cleaning - 38, Cooking - 23, Gardening - 21, Meditation - 43, Sewing - 27
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Shoji is one of the workers within the Shinyama Monestary, and has taken up the role of acting as a sort of coordinator for the new workers who come to make the lives of the Shinya comfortable and functional. Always obedient, Shoji would probably not express his opinion on any matter of importance unless specifically asked to. He is forever alert, tending his duties and filling his days with work to ease the passage of time; he does not do any one particular job, rather he does what is needed as it arises.

However, despite his unwillingness to offer too much advice to his superiors, he is intelligent and creative, an excellent problem solver. He can often be found gardening throughout the monastery, lending extra loving care to the luminescent plants infused with calias that surround the structure. When Shoji has a rare moment of time for himself, it is almost always spent dutifully meditating among the gardens and courtyards in the Monastery.

Ken Tanka

Race: Human
Birthdate: 499 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Shinya Rider
Gnosis: 1 mark of Gnora (Severing level 1)
Skills: Flux - 15, Leadership - 21, Meditation - 39, Projection - 54, Riding (Okomo) - 30, Unarmed Combat - 55, Weapon (Jian) - 71
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Ken Tanka is the son of Alius Tanka, and the twin brother of Zen Tanka. He is a restricted and quiet individual, one that never speaks unless spoken to. Even so, he is more than an astute observer, though he oft keeps what his keen eyes spy for himself. Ken walks with an air of confidence and tranquility rarely found in those of his age group. Impassive and seemingly cold, he is one that does not know how to convey emotions well, or just chooses not to. His successes are not something he is proud of, or at least it wouldn't seem that way from the perspective of someone that knows him little.

As one worthy of carrying on his father's legacy, Ken finds the barriers placed between the different ranks within the Shinya as something easy to overcome - and though his ascension was not as fast as that of his father, some speculate that he might have purposefully lagged behind, careful not to advance too far in fear that his brother would lose hope and, consequentially, the will to improve on himself.

Zhivka Pax

Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Shinya Protector
Skills: Blind Fighting - 30, Meditation - 25, Projection - 35, Teaching - 25, Unarmed Combat - 25, Weapon (Tiger Hook Sword) - 30
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Zhivka is a fierce-looking woman despite her petite stature; she looks younger than she is, with dirt blonde hair usually pulled up out of her face. Colourful tattoos span both of her arms. She is a quiet person in general, and prefers to teach the Acolytes she sponsors with more direct, hands-on approaches. She splits her time fairly equally between the Monastery and the Pavilion.

Zhivka was born and raised in Lhavit. When she was 9 years of age, she joined the Shinya and worked towards earning her full rank by the age of 17, and since has been working with various Acolytes since. Along with the normal forms of combat she learned, she also learned to fight wearing a blindfold in case she ever had to fight where she could not see.

Seth

Race: Human, mixed (Human/Svefra)
Birthdate: 499 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Shinya Rider
Skills: Climbing - 35, Endurance - 26, Meditation - 35, Projection - 40, Riding (Okomo) - 50, Unarmed Combat - 48, Weapon (Shortbow) - 65, Weapon (Shortsword) - 45
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Seth has a head of tightly curled russet hair. He is fairly tall, and well-built, but he would definitely not be classed as a muscle-machine. His dark blue eyes are lit with a certain brightness, and he is always ready with a smile. He dresses in the uniform of his rank: a dark blue robe with silver trim, and a black sash with three white stripes and dark-coloured beads. When he’s off-duty, he wears hard-wearing, outdoorsy clothing, and favours green.

Seth is a Lhavitian born and bred. He wasn’t always a follower of the rules; in his youth, he often got in trouble with the Shinya for inconsequential mishaps and tricks, egged on by his sister. Over time, he grew up and discovered he had an honourable streak a mile high. He outgrew silly tricks, and fostered a deep love and respect for the traditions of his birth city.

He trained hard for several years, and after joining the Shinya ranks he discovered he had a natural inclination for riding. He soon achieved the rank of Rider, and developed his speciality: archery from the back of an okomo. He is at home on the slopes of Lhavit, and he is fair and level-headed. His only fault would be his innocent, naive outlook on the world, for he wants to believe the old adage: innocent until proven guilty.

Reagan Korr
ImageName: Reagan Korr
Race: Human
Birthdate: 496 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Shinya Acolyte and greeter at the Shinyama Pavilion
Skills: Dancing - 35, Projection - 25, Singing - 50, Meditation - 10, Unarmed Combat - 43, Weapon (Bastard Sword) - 67
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Reagan is a quiet but pleasant young woman; she is courteous and friendly, but her seemingly calm demeanour and small stature hide an intense strength and unresolved anger. Those who underestimate the girl often regret it swiftly. Reagan is almost always at the Shinyama Pavilion; when not training, she is in the front room greeting visitors and showing them around.

Born and raised in Lhavit, Reagan always admired the Shinya; however, she never thought she could be capable of joining their ranks. She contented herself with performing at different bars, restaurants, and events; eventually, she met her husband, and settled down with him, adopting a dog they named Tanny, and her dreams were all but forgotten.

Except one night, her husband got involved in a bar fight with several foreigners to the city, and ended up being killed; with no Shinya present, the foreigners managed to escape the city before their crime was noticed. Devastated, rather than becoming bitter, Reagan finally decided to train to become a Shinya, vowing to help stop the same fate from befalling others.

Kagaya Ona
ImageName: Kagaya Ona
Race: Human
Birthdate: 478 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Shinya Devoted
Skills: Dual Wield - 60, Meditation - 30, Projection - 68, Unarmed Combat - 50, Weapon (Tiger Hook Sword) - 75
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Despite residing at the Monastery, Kagaya spends most of her time off duty at the Pavilion helping train Initiates and Acolytes, and helping them find a suitable weapon.

Kagaya is always clean and properly dressed, with her hair swept up in a bun and her natural beauty taking precedence. She is tall for a Lhavitian, standing at 5'9", and her hands are strong and calloused, much like how her body is toned yet elegantly so. She is quick on her feet, and she often is seen wearing the black and blue robes of the Shinya order, even when off duty.

Kagaya is a stoic woman who is both proud of her order and the determination she sees in new recruits. She is not your typical, motherly matron, and has been known to discipline her students in a variety of ways, be it swimming the rapid and treacherous currents of the Amaranthine River or even deploying the "hand stabbing game" as a scare tactic. She can be ruthless, but to her, it is strictly for the benefit of the individual, so they can realize their weakness and trump it with renewed vigor. Kagaya is wholly devoted to the Shinya, Lhavit and Zintila, and it shows in her exceptional pupils.

Kagaya is a high ranking officer of the Shinya order and is a member of the Shinya Elite, and is sometimes referred to as the Tiger Maiden. She presides over the specialization of most weapon-uses, her preferred being the hooked swords. Kagaya is also incredibly well-respected for the fact that she has taught the majority of the Shinya to this day. She is often referred to as the mother of weaponry, and is the go-to person in regards to different weapon styles. Kagaya has a talent for knowing the best weapon to bestow upon a new Acolyte.

Her history has always been a mystery, but most high ranking officials remember her dedication as a student and the pride she took in the knowledge of her fore-fathers. Rumors have circulated that Kagaya had once been to the lands of Falyndar and even met with the Myrians themselves. Such beliefs are held because of the odd fighting style Kagaya incorporates with her hooked swords; like a tiger, swift and deadly, always striking precise. Some say she was marked by Myri, herself, but all such tales are simply idle fancies.

John Lhutav
ImageName:John Lhutav
Race: Human
Birthdate: 462 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Shinya Guardian (Second in Command)
Gnosis: 1 mark of Gnora (Severing level 1)
Skills: Flux - 50, Meditation - 62, Projection - 68, Tactics - 65, Unarmed Combat - 76, Weapon (Iron Fan) - 27
Languages: Common (Fluent)

John spends much of his time at the Pavilion between attending meetings and keeping an eye on the Neophytes; on occasion, he may give lessons in unarmed combat.

Despite reaching a considerably old age for a Shinya, John is still relatively young in appearance. He sports a shaved frontal portion of his head, with a generous amount of hair tied back into a braid and is always garbed in black, gold or blue flowing robes. He is always seen with a placid expression, but on occasion he may show signs of approval or displeasure. When he does, it shows a deep sense of caring.

Analytical and tactical in every sense of the word, John is a man of observation, logical outcomes and an incredibly strict instructor. He is a very wise fighter, and has learned, over the years of following the principles of Gnora, to overcome the emotional interferences that hinder his abilities in combat. He faults the mistakes in students as a generalized reliance on their emotions, and is often swift in dealing with those that waste his time. Despite the fact that he may outwardly appear stoic and aloof, he does bestow his wisdom onto students that seek his guidance.

John Lhutav is the second-in-command of the Shinya following the Acendant, Alius Tanka. He is the primary officer who dispatches the troops of the Shinya in Lhavit and around the wilderness of the Misty Peaks. John might often be called a diplomat as well, as he has been to Syliras often throughout his life to speak with the Syliran Knights. Most Lhavitians regard him by the White Crane, after the name of his preferred hand-to-hand style. Since a young age, he has risen the ranks of the Shinya and shown his brilliance in combat.

Alius Tanka
ImageName: Alius Tanka
Race: Human
Birthdate: 463 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Shinya Ascendant (Leader)
Gnosis: 2 marks of Wysar (Evantia level 2), 1 mark of Zintila (Akarni level 1)
Skills: Auristics - 42, Leadership - 63, Meditation - 36, Projection - 83, Unarmed Combat - 75, Weapon (Wakizashi) - 32
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Alius is almost always at the Pavilion; he firmly believes in being hands-on and involved with the Shinya, and so likes to watch the Initiates and Acolytes train when he is not in a meeting. He never gives lessons in combat, but may on occasion give lessons in projection, and is known to speak a few words of advice to many of those training, even just the public making use of the training room.

Unlike most Shinya, Alius's head is completely shaved. He has seen many years since he was appointed the Ascendent, and there are now wrinkles riddled throughout his visage. Even so, do not let his age full you. He moves with a grace unmatched by the younger Shinya, and his well-toned physique is carefully hidden behind the rather intricately detailed pure black robes. Alius is of average height standing at 5'10", and he walks at neither a slow nor a quick pace, a reflection of his outlook on life. He is not intimidating, however, he is easily approachable.

Alius is deeply devoted to Zintila, Lhavit and his people. He is a dedicated trainer in the arts of combat and Projection, and can be seen the majority of the day meditating on the fifth floor of the Shinyama Pavilion or studying the pupils closely. He is not overly kind but he is also not rude or aggressive. He is a passive individual, a completely neutral party, and a prime adviser to the Anchorite Hayani. He is a man that listens closely to both sides of the story before making a rash decision, and his patience comes with many advantages. Lhavitians revere him for his loyalty to the city, and foreigners often enjoy the curiosity he takes to their presence.

Alius Tanka is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the ranks of the Shinya. He is the Ascendent, or leader, of the projectionist guards of Lhavit and takes his position very seriously. Born into a long line of respectful Shinya guards, it was no surprise Alius would become one in adulthood. He began his training at age 9, becoming initiated almost immediately after his birthday and proved to his mentors that he was an exceptional fighter. He rose the ranks quickly and achieved the Shinya Elite at the age of 20, the youngest to date. His prowess was not overlooked, and when the time came to establish the new leader of the Shinya, Alius was chosen by an overwhelming vote. To this day, he has guided the Shinya and allowed them to prosper under his hand.

The Three Towers

The Dusk Tower Zintia Peak

Alexander Mirihar
ImageName: Alexander Mirihar
Race: Human
Birthdate: 479 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Secretary at the Dusk Tower
Skills: Negotation - 55, Organization - 72, Persuasion - 55, Planning - 71, Politics - 10, Writing - 64
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Alexander Mirihar is the indefatigable and unflappable secretary of the Dusk Tower; its gatekeeper and guardian both. The Mirihar family seems to have been drawn to bureaucracy and organization for almost as long as Lhavit has glittered as a crystal crown on its granite peaks, serving with quiet, understated efficiency in the various bureaucratic positions that opened up with increasing complexity and civility. Indeed, his mother was the clerk of the Towers Council, perhaps the highest office a bureaucrat could hope to aspire to in Lhavit in the time before the Day of Discord.

As such, Alexander grew up surrounded by all the trappings of politics and bureaucracy, cut his teeth on piles of calligraphy brushes and was rocked to sleep in a cradle of documents, surrounded by the smell of old paper and wealth.

Intelligence and a politely formal demeanour - cutting something of a dash in immaculately-tailored attire, his characteristic monocle glimmering at his left eye - reflected well on him at Alluvion and at higher echelons, too, along with his connections through his mother. However, whilst he had inherited all her flair for organization, for forward planning, and contingency containment, while had the ability to see any event through to a glittering finish and to keep a stately organization on an even keel through paperwork and good leadership, his stance on politics was one more of apathy; it held no fire, no interest for him. He was content to exist as a functionary, a facilitator, rather than to accrue personal power through that bureaucracy.

Perhaps that was for the best, in any event; the Day of Discord swept through the city like a cleansing tide and consigned the formerly-powerful, important Towers Council to the dusty pages of history. Anchorite Hayani lost most of her power as Zintila withdrew a gnosis mark from her and left her a mere priestess once again, and much of the bureaucratic structure was torn down and rearranged into a newer, simpler form, cutting out entire departments that had been living off the fat of Lhavit’s taxes. His mother lost her position and the power she’d worked so hard to accrue, but on account of her age, she’d been allowed to retire with a comfortable stipend and gently fade into the background of the city.

As for Alexander…he took up a post at the Dusk Tower, as one of a legion of assistants helping to organize the flow of money and material as the Tower and its disgraced House made restitution to Lhavit, and stayed on after the debt had been repaid – at House Dusk’s urging - in a series of increasingly-senior posts, eventually rising to become the public face, so to speak, of the Tower, having earned the trust of the Dusk House through his own self-effacing brand of loyalty and discretion.

Chiona Dusk
ImageName: Chiona Dusk
Race: Human
Birthdate: 488 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Teacher at the Dusk Tower
Skills: Arcanology - 45, Auristics - 72, Leadership - 80, Organization - 22, Politics - 84, Spiritism - 35, Unarmed Combat - 30, Weapon (Dao Sword) - 52
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Chiona is Ald'gare's eldest child and the Tower's finest instructor. Gifted with an off-beat sense of humor and a very strict work ethic, Chiona is credited as one of Lhavit's renowned magical instructors. She is choosy about her students for criteria unknown, but rumor has it that prospective candidates are put through a screening process, unbeknownst to them. Auristics can be dangerous in the hands of a true villain; only someone truly devoid of foul intent might be allowed to learn the art form. While teaching she seems intent yet relaxed. Her prowess affords a more casual approach then the other, highly formal disciplines.

Chiona is surprisingly youthful in appearance, as is said of the entire Dusk family. Her dark hair and tawny eyes are incredibly sought after. However, she is of yet, unmarried. Despite that, it is rumored that she keeps company with Lheili Dawn, and that the two are in a highly secretive intimate relationship. However, the two haven't been seen together in some time, and there are new rumours that the pair has split after Lheili was seen with someone else, and there is even speculation that Chiona may now be involved with one of the other teachers at the Dusk Tower...

Aldgare Dusk

Languages: Common (Fluent)

The esteemed head of the Tower, Ald'gare Dusk is renowned throughout the city as being the most shrewd tactician of all the Towers. He often plays mediator between the Dawn and Twilight Houses, working to keep the peace through carefully placed agreements and secret exchanges. While the man is known in the city as an enigma, to his daughter Chiona, he is a loving and wise old man with an overwhelming desire to learn.

Ald'gare is the keeper of secrets, a devout of Akajia, and keeps a familiar - a cheerful Sarawanki by the name of Popa. The Sarawanki is most often in its crystalline liquid form, floating over or resting on Ald'gare's shoulder; when necessary, Popa takes on its sealed form of an intricate and delicate glass vial. Pops is constantly talking, and has no qualms with speaking to anyone who listens even remotely.

Artin Seder
ImageName: Artin Seder
Birthdate: 498 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Receptionist at the Dawn Tower
Skills: Calligraphy - 53, Organization - 90, Intimidation - 22, Interrogation - 20, Writing - 74
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Artin is a young man who was born into wealth. While most children in Lhavit are encouraged to make their own way, his mother doted on him hand and foot after the death of his father when he was young, and it made him grow into somewhat of a spoiled brat.

Cold and sometimes not even polite, Artin is disdainful and often rude. He looks down on most, and has a haughty and aloof air to him. More than once he's been snide to people entering the Tower, and more than once has he been reprimanded over it. He has a skill for making people feel as if they're being questioned when he speaks to them, and greatly enjoys making people squirm.

That being said, he is impeccably neat and organized both personally and in his work, and that is probably his only saving grace that has kept him from being fired. He has neat and beautiful handwriting, a strict filing system, and never a hair out of place.

Lheili Dawn
ImageName: Lheili Dawn
Birthdate: 494 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Teacher at the Dawn Tower
Skills: Meditation - 55, Reimancy - 76, Rhetoric - 80, Seduction - 17, Shielding - 60, Teaching - 52
Languages: Common (Fluent)

The youngest and most carefree of all in the Dawn House, Lheili is the only member to have never married. She is also regarded as a far softer instructor than her elder sister, Hitori. The people of Lhavit know her as one of the carefree souls of the Dawn Tower, a wild spirit never truly and properly tamed.

Lheili is a spirited debater and relishes killing time at the Basilika. She often accompanies Yana to the Bharani Library, and has cultivated a strong relationship with the Seekers there. She is the first to stand up and defend the Tower from slander, though at times she can be a bit too incensed. In fact, Lheili has earned herself a reputation as a hothead, in certain circles.

She is also rumoured to keep very close counsel with Chiona Dusk of the Dusk Tower; many say they are even in a secret relationship. However, as of late, the two have been noticeably absent from each other's presence, and new rumours are spreading that the pair have split after Lheili was seen kissing someone else.

Yana Dawn

Occupation: Reimancer at the Dawn Tower
Skills: Architecture - 72, Construction - 43, Leadership - 89, Meditation - 60, Reimancy - 87, Weapon (Polearm) - 52
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Yana is the leader of Lhavit's emergency reimancy team. Many say she is a more talented reimancer than even Sousa herself, but never had the opportunity to ascend to head of the Tower. Yana dismisses these claims as a load of tripe. She is a no-nonsense, hardworking mage and architect, though the latter is by and far her first love.

Yana relishes in building things and actively oversees construction in the city, working side by side with the Akka in order to combine the use of skyglass and reimancy techniques, building the city's civil buildings. She is also an avid student of pre-Valterrian architecture and holds a great deal of respect for both Suva and Alahea in that regard. When not traipsing about the city, she can be found either at the Tower or holed up in the Bharani Library, poring over blueprints.

Hitori Dawn
★ ★ ★Note: As of summer 519 AV, Hitori was murdered by the Magekiller; therefore, she may only be used in flashbacks prior to this date.

ImageName: Hitori Dawn
Race: Human
Birthdate: 486 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Teacher at the Dawn Tower
Skills: Meditation - 52, Observation - 50, Reimancy - 82, Rhetoric - 30, Shielding - 60, Teaching - 68
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Hitori Dawn is closest in age to Sousa, and boasts a mastery of all four elemental magics. On a person level she is known to be warm and maternal, but at the Tower, Hitori is a merciless instructor when it comes the art of control. Even with the passive elements, she knows that in the hands of the destroyer they're fearsome forces in their own right. She only teaches the most promising of students, for only they can keep up with the demands she sets upon them.

Hitori is by and large, the most notorious pedagogue and has been known to lecture for hours. Albeit brilliant, she is in love with the art of instruction. The more resentful students of the Tower assert that she loves to hear the sound of her own voice.

Sousa Dawn
ImageName: Sousa Dawn
Race: Human
Birthdate: 482 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Head of the Dawn Tower
Skills: Leadership - 81, Meditation - 55, Musical Instrument (Violin) - 51, Politics - 49, Reimancy - 90, Shielding - 72
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Sousa Dawn is the current head of the Dawn Tower. The Dawn house has learned to steady their minds and keep their wits about them through extensive meditation, and Sousa is certainly no different. Daughter to the former head of the Tower, Rieje Dawn, she took over as the eldest and has since guided her family along the honourable and forthright path.

She is often known for stating the bald truth in her soft, reassuring voice. In many ways, Sousa seems to be a contradiction. She is incredibly easygoing in person, soothing almost, and has the unmistakable ability to deflate a hostile situation; and yet she is almost always the cause of it. In the past, she would often beget heated arguments during meetings between the Dawn and Twilight Towers. With the passing of Weisur Twilight, however, her opinion of the Twilight Tower has drastically changed. She believes Altelo to be wise and his judgement sound.

Sousa is very easy to get along with, when the person in question is favoured. If they are not, beware; she is fearsome, particularly when angry, though her anger comes across as venom rather than outright rage.

Birthdate: 512 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Secretary and security at the Twilight Tower
Skills: Hunting - 31, Organization - 42, Singing - 10, Socialization - 55, Unarmed Combat - 75
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Frost is The Twilight Tower's first line of defense and the Tower's receptionist. Enjoying the double duty, Frost likes talking to people, meeting new students, and generally greeting all those who inquire about classes. It is her job to link instructors to new students, make introductions, and show new people around. She also carefully guards the entrance to the Twilight house's spire of the Twilight Tower.

And while she is gifted at combat, Frost is not so gifted at singing. Often as she patrols the halls, especially at night, one can hear her off-key singing. No one has ever been unkind enough to mention she might need lessons, because everyone can tell the big cat loves to sing.

Frost is the bondmate of Altelo Twilight, the head of the Twilight Tower and head morphing instructor in Lhavit.

Occupation: Mathematician for the Twilight Tower
Skills: Astronomy - 25, Business - 60, Cartography - 20, Cosmetology - 45, Disguise - 35, Gambling - 50, Mathematics - 65
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Mac was supposed to be a cartographer. His father is a shipwright int he tranquil port, and his mother a barmaid. They worked hard to make sure that Mac could get an education and make something of himself, it never occurred to them that he would do it on land and not the ocean. After a near-drowning incident as a teen Mac has refused to go near the salty waves ever again. Although having been trained to become a cartographer, he took his interest in math far and is nothing short of a genius for his age, an absolute whiz with numbers. But for all his strengths in the numerical realm, Mac is largely antisocial, and has not spent much of his time focusing on other skills.

Mac is often described as 'scatter-brained' by his peers, a common assumption for his habit of not finishing his thoughts. He doesn't enjoy casual chatter, although anyone can pick up a conversation with him if they manage to propose a problem to him that he feels the need to solve. He is a friendly fellow, despite his slightly odd behaviors, and although he doesn't enjoy the company of people many of his peers would consider themselves his friends.

He works diligently for the Twilight Tower, balancing their books in order to fund his enjoyment of the night. Mac is a known customer at the Obsidian club, although he is often unrecognized by his peers there. A long time fan of costumes and feminity Mac enjoys wearing costumes and cosmetics before heading to the nearest card game, where he never loses, a habit that has gotten him kicked out of most games before he could collect his wins.

He stands at an average height of around 5'9", with lithe limbs and slight pudge to his stomach. It is clear the man has never had to lift anything near his body weight in his life, and has no intention to. He is pale with dark curly hair that falls past his ears, and although it looks unkempt, seems to be intentionally so.

His face is long and often described as 'sad' although he is not a depressive personality to be around, and so can often be seen wearing a slight grin which exposes the gap between his front two teeth. His nails are long despite his gender, and he often wears color lacquers on it, which he is prone to flaunt with confidence to those who question him. He often wears plain black professional clothes to work, and bright vivid silks and cosmetics in his personal time.

Orath is a calm, serene individual. He is very poised and rarely gets riled; his actions and words are always sure and direct. Steady and practical, he can be reasonable and sensible under even the most trying of circumstances.

During the day, Orath stands at a tall and proud 6'3". Soft hair falls to his shoulders, and his horns curl up and away from his face. Warm, dusky blue eyes compliment his glowing marble skin tone.

At night, Orath loses a fair bit of height, and appears much scruffier, his hair even longer and turning a shade of dirty blonde. His eyes lighten somewhat, and tattoos and scars take over his tanned, sunkissed skin.

Orath and Tasa have never been apart, despite the obvious Ethaefal tendency to be loners. The rumors around the tower suggest that Syna and Leth both kicked them out of their realms simultaneously, because they missed each others company to such an extent they were an emotional drag on their divine homes, despite their love for their deities. Seeing them back to Mizahar practically immortal guaranteed that the pair would never be apart again.

Orath usually teaches classes during the day. Being as levelheaded and calm as he is, Orath often serves as a mediator, and has been known to handle any and all disputes within the Twilight Tower in a very fair and forthright manner.

Tasa is somewhat of a hothead; she is quick to rile with a flaring temper, and can be biting and harsh when provoked. That being said, when not angered, she is one of the sweetest people around. She is quick to offer aid to those who need it, and smiles often.

Tasa is a divine creature by night, with straight, silky hair, and smooth horns that flow up and back from her temples, making her appear even taller than her height of 5'11". Her eyes are a deep, blazing violet, a contrast to her glittering, pale white skin.

SeasonHair ColourHorn Colour
SpringLavender-greyWhite
SummerBlackGreen
AutumnYellow-goldYellow
WinterSilver-whiteViolet

During the day, Tasa takes on the form of a petite and fiery Inartan woman. She has cascading curls the colour of flames, and pale freckled skin. More than one person has recognized her simply by her gaze; her sharp green eyes carry the same blaze that they do at night.

Tasa tends to teach the night classes, offering instruction under darkness and moonlight where she is most comfortable. She is a kind teacher, but has no patience for those who are not serious about their studies. Tasa is known to send gifts when known families celebrate weddings or births.

It is a well-known fact that Tasa executed Weisur Twilight herself while Orath looked on, not interfering. With that single move, the Ethaefal of Leth secured the love of almost everyone living within the tower once they realized Weisur's absolute and corrupt rule was over.

Altelo Twilight
ImageName: Altelo Twilight
Race: Human
Birthdate: 481 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Head of and teacher at the Twilight Tower
Skills: Alchemy - 20, Composition - 30, Leadership - 62, Morphing - 84, Teaching - 68, Weapon (Cutlass) - 75
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Altelo Twilight is the second son born of the Twilight House's current adult generation. His deceased older brother, Weisur Twilight, often overshadowed him in many ways. Having a more mild manner, Altelo tended to stand quietly in the shadows while Weisur ran the family businesses and oversaw the Twilight Tower's presence in Lhavit.

However, that did not mean Altelo didn't soak up family knowledge, both in terms of the ability to lead, but also in the knowledge of the Twilight's interests in Lhavit. Altelo has had one of the finest educations his family could provide him. In his own quiet way, Altelo has always been picking up Weisur's pieces, soothing the ruffled feathers his brother always created, and been a quiet strength behind the scenes and out of the domineering spotlight of Weisur's presence.

When his brother was executed, Altelo was there to step up along with his younger brother, Nosumo Twilight. Their sister, Kanami Twilight, has long since left the Tower, taking after their mother instead and spending her time focused on farming and agriculture on the Sharai Peak.

Altelo is married to Aleine Twilight. She did not come from a prominent Lhavitian family, but was instead a stranger to the city of Lhavit when she met Altelo. Weisur disapproved of the match - as he did any marriage outside of one of the three Houses - and when Aleine was heavy with Altelo's first child, she mysteriously vanished from Lhavit. Altelo still searches for her, but with each passing year the chances of finding her or his child alive grow slimmer and slimmer.

Altelo is soft spoken, and is said to enjoy poetry and swordplay in equal measures. His curiosity and intelligence has lead him to become a master in morphing, and thus lead the magical teachings in the Twilight Tower. Altelo doesn't believe in taking power or respect; he feels it should be earned, and sets about every day to make sure he is worthy of his position as head of the Twilight Tower. Altelo is said to be compassionate, and in a way encouraging towards those who are willing to work to better themselves in Lhavitian society.

Altelo has a broody facial expression, which seems to naturally fall on his rather youthful features. However, he has his own charm with a slow smile and a soft, gentle voice that guides both his family and his students on a new pathway, one that has done nothing but improve his family since the Day of Discord. Altelo has a strongly muscled body from his constant use of his cutlass, and has made something of a name for himself with his sword. Watchful andprotective, Altelo keeps the Twilight house in line with a gentle and guiding hand, very different from Weisur's old unrelenting fist.

Frost has saved Altelo's sanity on more than one occasion, and he is her bondmate.

Nosumo Twilight
ImageName: Nosumo Twilight
Race: Human
Birthdate: 486 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Teacher at the Twilight Tower
Skills: Bodybuilding - 32, Brawling - 30, Leadership - 40, Morphing - 55, Teaching - 36, Weapon (Longsword) - 48
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Tall and well-muscled, Nosumo has warm brown eyes, and dark brown hair he keeps swept back away from his face. He always has a charming, roguish grin on his face, and unlike Altelo, is almost always talking about something or other.

Nosumo is Altelo's younger brother. For a long time, he had no worries about having to step up, with Altelo and Weisur being the oldest two. However, since the Day of Discord, that has changed, and Nosumo has become much less carefree and more responsible, stepping up to help Altelo keep things organized.

While not as good at morphing as Altelo, Nosumo is fairly talented, and teaches classes on the subject. He is a laid-back man, sometimes not taking things seriously enough, and is known for joking around with his students.

The Towers' Respite Zintia Peak

Tahala Chinsta
ImageName: Tahala Chinsta
Race: Human
Birthdate: 489 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Manager at the Towers' Respite
Skills: Business - 52, Copying - 55, Gardening - 30, Leadership - 70, Negotiation - 35, Organization - 80, Rhetoric - 40, Tactics - 85, Writing - 60
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Tahala is a relatively young woman to be working in such a place; but she proved herself to be very skilled in organization, forever keeping lists and tabs on anything and everything she could find in her family home. She is respected by both the teachers and students for her hard work in keeping the Respite running smoothly. Tahala is usually found at the front office, checking in new students or sorting through the ledgers. She is friendly, and will usually go out of her way to help someone with an inquiry, not matter how trivial it may seem. When not at the front desk, she can usually be found around the grounds tending to the various plants.

Remni Natai
ImageName: Remni Natai
Race: Human
Birthdate: 460 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Tutor at the Towers' Respite
Skills: Anthropology - 75, Glyphing - 60, History - 55, Papermaking - 40, Shielding - 70, Storytelling - 30, Teaching - 50
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Remni is an older man, born and raised in Lhavit. Of all the people in the Tower, he is perhaps the simplest figure, the easiest to figure out. He values family and education, but is not afraid to party with students despite his age. Which, when it happens, can be fun, albeit a tad awkward when one shows up for study the next day. Although he never officially became a teacher, he has a passion for the history of his beloved city and the people within it and loves to preach to the Tower students about it.

[tabset=300]

Tofeii Natai
ImageName: Tofeii Natai
Race: Human
Birthdate: 465 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Tutor at the Towers' Respite
Skills: Auristics - 70, Mathematics - 80, Meditation - 35, Observation - 40, Physics - 45, Projection - 60, Teaching - 50
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Only a few years younger than Remni, Tofeii also grew up in Lhavit. Although unlike her husband, who was born and raised on the Zintia Peak, Tofeii grew up on the Sharai Peak. As a child, it was apparent her skill with plants was nothing like her skill with numbers and she eventually moved to teach at the Alluvion Academy. After marrying Remni, however, she also moved to teach at the Academy. Tofeii is a lover and collector of art, and particularly enjoys art from her students; she is most of the reason why the halls of the Respite are covered in so much art from past students.

Skills: Animal Husbandry - 70, Mountaineering - 55, Riding (Okomo) - 68, Unarmed Combat - 30, Wilderness Survival (Forest, mountain) - 42
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Hachia is a wizened old man, with a smile always hidden under his thick beard and crinkling the corners of his hooded eyes. He has been a fixture of Lhavit for as long as many can remember, helping to guide travelers up the treacherous path to the Amaranthine Gates.

Hachia lives in a small skyglass shack near the foot of the main path; he is rarely seen within the city itself, instead preferring to live as somewhat of a hermit. He is not a talkative man, but will tell any visitors or travelers whatever he can of Lhavit should they ask him on the ride up to the Gates. He has a seemingly infinite well of patience, and is unmoved by rudeness or aggression; the only time Hachia will refuse to bring someone up the path, and even then he will do so calmly, is if they threaten any of the Okomo that so often are around his shack.

The Cosmos Center Zintia Peak

Youchi Dawn-Sakana

Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Basic)

Youchi is the granddaughter of Yasek Dawn, who was a cousin of the Dawn family, and she appears far younger than she truly is. She is only a bell ring away to assist those that enter the Center needing help, and is always seen with a smile on her face. Youchi has the utmost desire to help new visitors and residents integrate themselves into the unique world of Lhavit. She is stocked with extensive knowledge of the local life as well as the landmarks around the city, but leaves the guiding to her helpers - namely her son.

Oishi Sakana

Languages: Common (Fluent)

Oishi is a lively and somewhat mischievous teenage boy; he is the son of Youchi, and has been helping her guide visitors around Lhavit for the past three years. He is good at re-telling the stories told to him when he was but a small child, and relishes a large crowd. He is usually seen outside of the Cosmos Center tending to the small garden there, or in the city guiding newcomers to their destinations.

One of his chief goals is to grow into his mother's position as head secretary and guide for the Cosmos Center. He feels strongly connected to Lhavit's heritage, and wishes to make his mark on the city.

Religious Figures

Temple of the Moon Shinyama Peak

Selane Nymphea
ImageName: Selane Nymphea
Race: Symenestra
Birthdate: 489 AV
Birthplace: Kalinor
Occupation: Priestess of Leth and head of the Chandra at the Moon Temple
Gnosis: 3 marks of Leth (Telepathy level 3)
Skills: Acrobatics - 73, Astronomy - 52, Climbing - 100, Dance - 64, Endurance - 32, Stealth - 24
Languages: Common (Fluent), Symenos (Fluent)

Selane was born to a human female whom she never knew, and raised by her father in Kalinor. She grew up worshiping Viratas as all Symenestra do, and was happy in Kalinor working as an aerial dancer; however, things changed when she met a Priestess of Leth, who visited Kalinor as the result of a Gleaning.

Selane was enraptured, and learned all she could about the moon God from the woman, who was from Lhavit. Selane made a connection between the tides of water, so closely entwined with the moon, and the tides of blood that links family. When the woman left to return to Lhavit, Selane followed. She began to work at the Temple of the Moon as a Chandra, and when the Priestess passed away, she suddenly found herself taking over.

Selane still worships both Leth and Viratas; she is usually quiet about the latter, but should anyone genuinely ask, she is more than happy to discuss her worship of the God of blood, and how it coexists with her service to Leth.

Lua
ImageName: Lua
Race: Human
Birthdate: 490 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Chandra at the Moon Temple
Gnosis: 1 mark of Leth (Telepathy level 1)
Skills: Astrology - 48, Astronomy - 55, Fortune Telling - 35, Hypnotism - 28, Meditation - 60, Reimancy (Water, air) - 45
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Tall, with dark skin and short, curly black hair, Lua is actually one of the more recent members of the Chandra.

Lua and her twin sister, Zia, were both born in Lhavit. Their mother was a member of the Constellations, and their father was a Shinya guard; they have been deeply immersed in Lhavit's culture since a young age, and both grew up devout in their worship for both Syna and Leth.

The two are deeply close and do just about everything together; after their parents died, they only grew closer, relying on each other for support. However, the two are very much opposites.

Lua is quiet, thoughtful, and introspective. She is polite and friendly, but shies away from crowds, and can be a bit nervous when meeting new people. She prefers to spend her free time alone and meditating, or enjoying some of the peaceful spots around the city. However, she does have a surprisingly quick wit and dry sense of humour; it just takes the right person to bring it out.

In processing her grief over losing her parents, Lua found herself focusing her worship on Leth, eventually joining the ranks of the Chandra.

Temple of the Sun Tenten Peak

Adalia Elidi
ImageName: Adalia Elidi
Race: Inarta
Birthdate: 492 AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Occupation: Priestess of Syna and head of the Taiyang at the Sun Temple
Gnosis: 3 marks of Syna (Inavalti level 3)
Skills: Astronomy - 15, Dance - 48, Gardening - 30, Glassblowing - 55
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Fluent)

Adalia is a lovely young woman with red-blonde hair cascading down over her shoulders, and soft blue eyes. Freckles scatter her sunkissed skin, and the mark of her Goddess encircles her left eye, a sun with three rays extending outwards from the center.

The priestess is a warm, welcoming presence. She always has a gentle smile on her face, and she speaks quietly, but with an inner strength. When not tending to the Sacred Flame or the temple itself, Adalia may be found outside caring for the fish or flowers, or speaking with visitors to the temple.

Born and raised in Wind Reach, Adalia grew up worshiping Syna more than any other deity. She felt from a very young age that she was destined to serve the Goddess, and wished to prove her devotion to Syna; she was first marked at the tender age of 13.

Unsatisfied with her life in Wind Reach, where she worked as a glassblower, Adalia still felt as if she was destined for more, and knew she could not reach her full potential if she remained. She left for Lhavit at the age of 17, where she found the Taiyang. She wasted no time in joining their ranks, and has been with the temple ever since.

Zia
ImageName: Zia
Race: Human
Birthdate: 490 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Taiyang at the Sun Temple
Gnosis: 1 mark of Syna (Inavalti level 1)
Skills: Astronomy - 45, Auristics - 30, Dance - 60, Reimancy (Fire, air) - 48, Socialization - 80
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Tall, with warm skin and long black hair most often kept in a braid, Zia is actually one of the more recent members of the Taiyang.

Zia and her twin sister, Lua, were both born in Lhavit.

Zia is bold, charming, and extroverted. She loves people and attention, and has no issues making friends wherever she goes. She is playful and fun-loving, and when not at the temple, enjoys spending time at the bars across the city.

In processing her grief over losing her parents, Zia found herself focusing her worship on Syna, eventually joining the ranks of the Taiyang.

Temple of Time Sartu Peak

Saniya Horada
ImageName: Saniya Horada
Race: Human
Birthdate: 490 AV
Birthplace: Alvadas
Occupation: Priestess of Tanroa and keeper of the Temple of Time
Gnosis: 3 marks of Tanroa (Treavery level 3)
Skills: Anthropology - 40, Archaeology - 35, Astronomy - 28, History - 87, Investigation - 74, Land Navigation - 42, Observation - 75
Languages: Common (Fluent)

A figure shrouded in unknowns, Saniya is tall and slender, with silky dark hair and dark eyes that have bursts of blue extending out from her pupils. She is always dressed in a fine blue robe, embroidered with gold thread, and a peculiar golden headpiece that seems to resemble the face of a clock.

Saniya is a mysterious individual. Nobody quite knows where she came from, or even when she arrived in Lhavit; one day, she was simply there. She is quiet and enigmatic, spending her days at the Temple of Time, its unofficial keeper.

Those marked by Tanroa are rare; her priestesses are even rarer. Nobody knows why Saniya is in Lhavit, or what her greater purpose is. Nobody truly knows how many marks the Goddess has granted her, either; since they are hard to spot and subtle, nobody has been able to count correctly. This has given birth to the rumour that Saniya is Tanroa's Champion, but this is strictly untrue.

Saniya does not use her gnosis carelessly or without reason; that being said, she is enamoured with history, and delights in opportunities to be able to travel in time and learn more of the past in a hands-on manner. Thoughtful and respectful of the Goddess of time, even Saniya herself does not quite know why she has been marked as many times as she has, or what the Goddess has planned or expects from her.

Born in Alvadas, Saniya was raised to worship Ionu, and knew only the very basics of Tanroa when she was first marked. Since then, she has learned as much about the Goddess as possible. She has settled in Lhavit for the past few years simply because she felt it was right to do so, and she will move on when she feels the time has come to travel elsewhere.

Education

The Crystal Seed Bank Sharai Peak

Amarina Lior
ImageName: Amarina Lior
Race: Human
Birthdate: 492 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Head groundskeeper at the Crystal Seed Bank
Gnosis: 2 marks of Caiyha (Phylonura level 2)
Skills: Agriculture - 25, Botany - 75, Foraging - 50, Floristry - 38, Gardening - 85, Herbalism - 35, Leadership - 62
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Beautiful with a willowy frame and long, pale blonde hair, Amarina is almost always seen in an old dress and worn boots, with gardening gloves either on her hands or tucked into her belt. Grass and dirt stains always cover her clothing, and often her knees and hands as well, and she is usually wielding some sort of gardening tool or another. Despite her young age, she is head of the groundskeepers at the Bank, and in charge of the various botanists and researchers; she took the position over from her mother when she passed, and was practically raised in the Bank.

Amarina is a no nonsense lady. She’s pleasant and easy enough to have a conversation with, but she is also often very, very busy. Her daily duties include coordinating the vast force of keepers under her leadership, employing new recruits, and generally battling with the overflow of information contained at the Bank. However, she is also always the one who represents the good name of her business, often making appearances at local Lhavit festivities. Amarina also spends much of her time caring for the grounds and live plants within the Bank.

Amarina owns a little cottage in the Okomo Estates, and her garden is always the most beautiful one in her neighbourhood. Many who wish to know the secrets of her way with plants often find themselves with unanswered questions, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Atsu Kyres
ImageName: Atsu Kyres
Race: Human
Birthdate: 489 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Groundskeeper at the Crystal Seed Bank
Skills: Botany - 50, Gardening - 70, Meditation - 72, Organization - 75, Socialization - 10, Unarmed Combat - 64
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Atsu was born to a long line of gardeners in Lhavit, and to his parents' delight, he picked up their interest in plants, and eagerly continued their line of work. Having worked at the Seed Bank since he was 20, Atsu is fairly familiar with it by now.

While he does tend to the grounds and the live plants in the Bank, Atsu primarily spends most of his time in the archives, where he keeps things organized and also keeps an eye on visitors. In his spare time, he can often be found meditating or practicing his unarmed combat in reclusive corners of the Bank or its grounds.

While not unfriendly, Atsu can be somewhat awkward; his person skills need work, to put it lightly, and he would much rather spend his time among plants, who he can speak to without fear of judgement. Despite that, he is a sweet man, and deeply enjoys conversations about plants and gardening.

Raphael Varis
ImageName: Raphael Varis
Race: Human
Birthdate: 455 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Botanist and researcher at the Crystal Seed Bank
Skills: Botany - 88, Gardening - 70, Herbalism - 52, Intelligence - 45, Investigation - 40, Organization - 50, Philtering - 30, Teaching - 35
Languages: Common (Fluent)

An elderly man with thin, wispy white hair, Raphael is still surprisingly spry for his age, and has yet to retire from the Seed Bank; born and raised in Lhavit, he spent much of his youth working alongside his parents, who were both farmers on the Sharai, before finally beginning to work as a botanist at the Seed Bank.

Raphael is a veritable library of knowledge when it comes to plants. Having little passion for anything else, other than the preserving the knowledge and understanding of Kalea’s flora, has made the man not only the longest lived researcher at the Seed Bank, but also the most elusive presence.

He doesn’t give up the many secrets he knows easily, but is also mindful of his old age, and is determined to create the next generation of botanists and researchers; thus, he’s always on the look out for fresh meat to reign into the ranks of groundskeepers. Even though he technically answers to Amarina, Raphael has earned a position of high respect at the Seed Bank, and is considered the unofficial second in command.

Raphael spends most of his time in the labs at the Bank, doing research on various plants; if not in one of the well-hidden labs, he may be found in the library going through the archives of seeds and information.

The Bharani Library Tenten Peak

Silvya Toha
ImageName: Silvya Toha
Race: Human
Birthdate: 494 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Savant Seeker and receptionist at the Bharani Library
Gnosis: 1 mark of Eyris (Lykata level 1)
Skills: Calligraphy - 32, Copying - 30, Intimidation - 20, Investigation - 25, Organization - 86, Writing - 40
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Silvya is polite and welcoming, but just shy of friendly; she greets those entering the Library, offering her assistance or letting them wander as they please depending on a few factors.

As a member of the Inventory department, when she not at the front desk, Silvya is most often organizing or filing various books, scrolls, and artifacts. She is very strict about the system she has in place, and prefers to work alone because of this. If her system is interrupted or otherwise upset, she can become very irritated, and she doesn't hesitate to make this known with a sharp tongue.

Elren Sosho
ImageName: Elren Sosho
Race: Human
Birthdate: 472 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Priest of Eyris and Head Seeker at the Bharani Library
Gnosis: 3 marks of Eyris (Lykata level 3)
Skills: Anthropology - 62, Archaeology - 75, Leadership - 86, Mountaineering - 43, Reimancy (Earth) - 23, Weapon (Shortsword) - 50, Wilderness Survival (Forest, mountain) - 45
Languages: Common (Fluent)

The current Head of the Seekers, Elren previously worked in the Enterprise department, but is often too busy keeping things running smoothly to do so anymore.

Looking slightly older than he really is, Elren is rugged, with salt and pepper hair and a mostly grey beard that he keeps neatly trimmed. He often looks to be scowling, and may seem intimidating at first glance, towering over many at 6'2" with his surly expression; despite this, Elren is incredibly friendly and jovial. He often cracks jokes, and anyone who enters his office will find themselves staying at least 20 chimes longer than they meant to, more often than not with a cup of tea and whatever goods his wife baked that morning.

Elren can also be very serious and contemplative when needed; he has a deep, incessant curiosity about the world around him, and finds all things fascinating. He loves to learn, particularly about new cultures and races, and will unashamedly pester those he deems fascinating or interesting to him.

The Divine's Gateway Tenten Peak

Corin Row
ImageName: Corin Row
Race: Human
Birthdate: 486 AV
Birthplace: Nyka
Occupation: Summoner at the Divine's Gateway
Skills: Arcanology - 48, Astronomy - 60, Drawing - 42, Familiary - 93, Negotiation - 51, Persuasion - 48, Shielding - 82, Summoning - 71, Voiding - 64, Writing - 34
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Born and raised in Nyka, Corin always had a fascination with the Celestials and the stories that accompanied them. His fascination didn't just stop with the Alvina, it stretched to other Gods, Goddesses, and other worlds entirely. Corin loved the idea of other worlds that had yet to be truly understood, something beyond the mundane activity of everyday races. As soon as he was able to, he set off to Sahova, to learn from the Nuits and hear tales of times before the Valterrian, when things had been much different. It was here Corin had the opportunity to summon and contract Ruik, his familiar. He felt the Irylid's infallible memory and observational skills would prove suitable for the task he had in mind for them.

Further research on Sahova revealed the existence of the lost discipline of Dominion. A magic used to modify the world around, by linking itself to the Ukalas, where the divines themselves resided. Corin, along with Ruik, made it his life's goal to rediscover the lost discipline. Hearing of a place with beings who had once existed in the Ukalas, the Ethaefal, and ruled by an Alvina who also once resided there, the pair gathered themselves up and travelled to Lhavit. Corin wanted others to be able to benefit from his research, and believed those of Lhavit would most, regaining what they lost.

Corin is very enthusiastic about his field of expertise, and is always looking forward to any conversation with the Ethaefal and, on her occasional visits, Zintila. He does have a large amount of self-control, not forcing anyone into conversations they don't want to be in, but usually lets his mouth run when they want to talk to him. He asks questions after question, generally interested in the answers, hoping to find whatever information the Eth can remember from their time in the Ukalas to advance his research, even if his conversation partner believes it to not be worth mentioning.

To other races, he usually talks with responses that sound practiced, as he continues his work. He does not mean to be rude, but is usually so far in his own work that he finds it difficult to pull away from it. Catch him on the rare occasions he isn't working, or even mention you show interest in his work, and he will talk with and treat you like an old friend.

Ruik is Corin's Irylid familiar. Like all Irylids, Ruik is quiet to the point of stubbornness. On the rare occasions he does talk, it is usually only to Corin through their telepathic link, where he relays any of the many observations made every second, or offers his own thoughts on matters that Corin has asked about. To have Ruik speak to you implies that he has a good opinion of you, however small it may be.

Fiercely loyal to Corin, he has enjoyed the time he has spent with him and feels that any other wizard would not have met his expectations. He is happy to help Corin with any requests he has, but does very little other than observe any other time. It is not uncommon for him to already have a solid opinion and judgement of a stranger he has only met five chimes prior. His observations are very rarely wrong.

Ruik most often takes the form of an icy sphere, emanating cold, his surface shimmering and reflective. When necessary, he takes on his sealed form, which is a round, faceted gem made of the same reflective, icy material that makes up his normal orb form.

Anton
ImageName: Anton
Race: Inarta
Birthdate: 461 AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Occupation: Researcher and teacher at the Divine's Gateway
Skills: Astrology - 55, Astronomy - 68, Reimancy (Air, fire) - 35, Summoning - 15, Teaching - 56
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Fluent)

Anton is an older man, with a long beard and balding hair that still retains the trademark ginger colour that the Inarta are known for, though streaks of white are beginning to show. Like many Inarta, Anton is extremely frank and straight forward, and can be rather blunt; he also tends to ignore many social rules if he feels they're pointless or serve no real purpose.

Anton is rather grumpy, and doesn't tend to go out of his way to help people. He often teaches classes at the Gateway, and can be a harsh instructor. When not teaching, he is usually researching or watching summonings; on rare occasions, he even helps with them.

While generally a scowling and irritated old man, Anton has a particular weak spot for tea; especially the spiced black tea from Mhakula Teahouse, with a half-spoon of honey and a dash of okomo milk. Anyone who offers him a good cup of tea will immediately be put in his good books, and he'll be much more polite and willing in conversation.

Anton traveled to Avanthal at a young age, intrigued by the land of snow and ice. He remained there for many years, studying on his own. He made friends with a Vantha named Levi Skyglow, and upon his death, decided to return to Kalea. Not keen on returning to Wind Reach, Anton moved to Lhavit, where he has been for the past several years.

Alluvion Academy Tenten Peak

Laera
ImageName: Laera
Race: Ethaefal (Day)/Human (Night)
Birthdate: 372 AV
Birthplace: The Suvan Sea
Occupation: Receptionist at Alluvion Academy
Skills: Drawing - 48, Negotiation - 30, Observation - 30, Organization - 10, Painting - 25, Writing - 30
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Laera is the first one to greet those that enter the Academy, sitting behind the desk in the front hall. She seems very much the typical artist. Her voice is soft spoken and her eyes are always off in open space, wandering. As an individual she is notorious for her distinctly disorganized filing system. The Ethaefal’s desk is perpetually littered with applications, colorful documents, and class lists. It’s nearly impossible to fathom how she handles the monumental chaos around her, yet she manages the school nearly effortlessly and only rests during the city’s set periods.

She fell into the Suvan Sea years ago near Riverfall; that is where she spent much of her time, but she found the city's combat-oriented ways didn't suit her, and so she left. Eventually, she settled in Lhavit, her heart having been captured by the city's beautiful architecture.

Laera is an Ethaefal, specifically one of Syna's children. During the day, she is an unearthly beauty. Standing at a willowy 5’9”, her facial structure is gaunt and finely symmetrical. Laera’s demeanor in her ethereal form is that of a statue, scrutinizing the inquiring the surroundings with a level gaze, such a dark amber. Her hair falls long and loose, with soft blunt bangs across her forehead.

At night, Laera takes the form of a slightly shorter human woman, with fawn-brown hair that comes to her shoulders, and soft green eyes.

Nyolt Paddok
ImageName: Nyolt Paddok
Race: Human, mixed (Benshira/Inarta/Svefra)
Birthdate: 455 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Teacher at Alluvion Academy
Gnosis: 2 marks of Eyris (Lykata level 2)
Skills: Anthropology - 70, Investigation - 42, Leadership - 54, Meditation - 60, Morphing - 58, Philosophy - 80, Rhetoric - 44, Teaching - 58
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Basic), Tukant (Basic)

Nyolt is the anthropology, meditation, and philosophy teacher at the Alluvion Academy. With the dark skin of a Benshiran, the bright blue eyes of a Svefra, and a faded Inartan red tint to his hair, Nyolt Paddock is a living example of how the diffusion of race and culture has transformed the city of Lhavit.

With parents who were both mixed blood, and from two different parts of the world, the man had always grown up knowing the concept of culture and being fascinated by it. Thus, it may explain why the man was so interested in devoting his life to it as he grew older. He joined the Seekers at the ripe age of sixteen, and hasn't looked back since.

For the next forty years, Nyolt served in the Enterprise department, traveling all over Mizahar in search of rare knowledge, all the while sating his own desire for knowledge. He proved to be mediocre in combat situations, but more than made up in it when it came to picking up languages and interacting with the other races. He especially fell in love with the Inartan and Akalak cultures, visiting them each several times in his life, and establishing correspondence with a few key figures in both cultures.

Alas, old age crept up on Nyolt and forced the man to cut down on his trips. He still wanted to play a major role in cultures, so he requested to be transferred over to the Alluvion Academy as an instructor; he even enrolled himself with the Twilight Tower to learn Morphing to better teach his students. He still serves Eyris and the Seekers, assisting them with expeditions when needed, but teaching has become his life.

Nyolt has been with the Academy for six years now. An old man now, he still speaks of cultures with the fervor that he possessed as a teenager. His words are softly-spoken, each sentence planned out before they escape his lips. No matter the lesson, Nyolt has his students hanging onto his every word, questioning everything they thought they knew and looking for more.

Priya is the astronomy, composition, drawing, and fortune telling teacher at the Academy. She is a petite woman with iridescent pink and blue scales gracing her forehead, shoulders, arms, and legs, and long silver hair that falls in waves.

Priya made her way to Lhavit almost a century ago, and she took to the city like a duck to water. It had everything she wanted and needed to fulfill her life in a way that Mura couldn’t. Her mother had seen the city in a vision, telling her that she must find the city made of glass stars and help those there learn from her talents. It was just a matter of traveling across Mizahar to find the city. She paid her way, over the course of a decade, with the pittance a scribe makes; and when she finally gazed upon the city of Lhavit, she knew she was home. The traveling only helped her as she picked up languages along the way that would later help her with her teachings at the academy.

Kind and sweet, the Konti has a gentle voice and soft eyes. Despite this kindness, she has a strength behind her words that may hint to the length of travel she had endured to get to where she is now. She has no patience for slackers or those who have no real desire to be in her class. If she feels that you are wasting her time, she will send you from the room with a gentle nod towards the door and a “Thank you for your attendance”, before turning back to the class as if you didn’t exist. If you are truly there to learn all you can, she will happily teach you what she knows with a deep enthusiasm.

While he still helps at the Catholicon from time to time, Izo spends most of his time teaching at the Academy.

Izo is a laid-back, playful man. He enjoys teasing his students, and is well-known for making his lessons playful and fun whenever he can. The Ethereal Opera House Zintia Peak

Lili Arealia
ImageName: Lili A'realia
Race: Human
Birthdate: 492 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and manager at the Ethereal Opera House
Skills: Dance - 35, Leadership - 80, Negotiation - 45, Observation - 50, Organization - 50, Politics - 35
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Lili inherited this Opera House from her father Jean, a Lethborn Ethaefal. The ownership passed to her when he was slain during the Day of Discourse, as the Opera House had been used in the act of human trafficking. Slaves transported to the Tranquil Port were smuggled to the House where they were held for distribution and ultimately auction.

Lili and her mother had long separated themselves from the family name, relinquishing any rights to ownership. However when Lili's father died, she seized the opportunity to make a case for inheritance. This was taken before Zintila herself. The Ethereal is a historic location and had been thought to belong to the Constellation. Despite universal protest, the Alvina granted Lili this opportunity to redeem her family name. Whatever was said must have shown the young woman to be truly pure of spirit. She has been the proprietor of the Opera House ever since.

Lili learned many of the precepts of management at an early age. Hard work and herculean effort has yielded some of the greatest success the Ethereal House has seen to date. In personal interaction Lili is shrew and ambitious, commanding a wry sense of humour. She is seen as a beautiful if not cold woman, with golden tresses and sharp green eyes. Despite the circulation of gossip, she has never been seen in a relationship with anyone - male or female. The only guest accompanying her to events is usually her mother. Lili keeps few close friends, which incidentally never overlap with business associates. Work and play are kept separate.

The Basilika Tenten Peak

Mattias Barnes
ImageName: Mattias Barnes
Race: Human
Birthdate: 456 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Scholar at the Basilika
Skills: Intelligence - 43, Interrogation - 30, Philosophy - 55, Politics - 42, Rhetoric - 70
Languages: Common (Fluent), Myrian (Poor)

Mattias is an elderly scholar, and the closest you could say to being the leader of the Basilika, aside from his wife. They both are static fixtures of the Basilika, just like any pillar or wall, the only things unchanging in this room of changing ideas. Mattias is a human, whose graying hair still shows signs of the dark color it was in youth, and who often has a sly and playful smile beneath his crooked nose. His eyes are fierce and fiery, shinning bronze and gold in the morning light. He tends to wear loose and plain robes, favouring simple colours and designs as he travels to and fro. He moves at a leisurely pace, content to follow the stream of ideas.

Mattias spends several hours a day wandering the Basilika, and while he sometimes will spend time at the Basilika after dark, he's much more likely to be seen when the sun is out. He loves to take part in discussions, and is known for being a fierce competitor in a debate. Ideas and opinions seem to excite him and bring back some kind of youthful vigor with every encounter. He's known to be clever and quick-witted, bringing troublemakers and arguments that get too heated down with just a few words.

Skara Barnes
ImageName: Skara Barnes
Race: Myrian
Birthdate: 461 AV
Birthplace: Taloba
Occupation: Artist at the Basilika
Skills: Drawing - 30, Painting - 55, Sculpting - 26, Teaching - 35, Tracking - 10, Weapon (Kukri) - 28
Languages: Common (Fluent), Myrian (Fluent)

Mattias' counterpart and loving spouse, Skara is an older Myrian who gave up her roots a long time ago. An artist with a passion for creative works, she is most often seen around the Basilika at night, but will make the odd appearance during the day as well; alongside her husband, she serves as an unofficial leader of sorts in the Basilika, and is deeply respected by all who know her.

Skara doesn't hold herself like most older people; her steps are strong, and have an inner power. With fair white hair down to the center of her back, often kept in either a bun or braid, few would guess that this woman used to be a fierce warrior, or that the scars on her arms and shoulders are from battles long ago conquered. Her eyes are a deep shade of brown, dark and mysterious. The only hint of her Myrian past that's still visible is her tanned skin and the tattoos all over her hands and neck, which are usually hidden by the bright and colorful, patterned robes she herself finds appealing.

Skara seems a quiet woman at first, but she's merely contemplative. She loves art and has a passion for painting, and she loves seeing what people create. Her opinions and words seem to come out slowly, and often have to be wrestled from her before she'll give them. She seems to enjoy being the devil's advocate as well; when her opinion is given it often isn't kind, pointing out mistakes or flaws. Skara is much more content to listen to someone explain their work and then tell them what she thinks. Often known for her kind eyes but fierce attitude, Skara's the quiet tiger watching the night.

Friendly and outgoing, Khana welcomes all and loves educating people about the okomo; but if she believes someone poses a threat to the animals, her fury knows no bounds. Khana is a member of a line of prominent okomo handlers and hunters that heralded from Wind Reach over 200 years ago. She was raised to learn how to hunt and shoot with a bow at a young age, and has since put it to good use to bring back occasional food to ease the burden on the non-okomo cattle raised for the city. She is seen most of the time painting the horns of her okomo or patting them down at the Grooming House.

The Swing Sharai Peak

Julian Orto
ImageName: Julian Orto
Race: Ghost (Human)

Date of death: 482 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Haunting the Swing
Skills: Materialization - 50, Possession - 40, Singing - 50, Socialization - 30, Soulmist Projection - 26
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Julian is a little black-haired boy with sparkling black eyes, dressed in a scruffy top and trousers. Though ghostly, Julian is mainly sad rather than angry, and would prefer that people leave him and the swing alone.

Julian will always regret the dare his sister taunted him with. He had never been very brave, finding pleasure in singing rather than in fighting like all the other boys. His spiteful sister Alison knew it. For years she had bullied him, and on more than one occasion she had her friends beat little Julian up. He wished he could prove himself to his sister, and to the friends he once enjoyed being with, but everything he did seemed to enrage Alison further and sunk him deeper into misery.

One fateful day, when Lhavit was encased in snow, Alison goaded her brother into a visit to the swing. He thought he could finally prove himself; yet unknown to him, he would never go home again. He plummeted to his death after slipping on ice, and now haunts the swing in the hopes of warning other children such as himself that it isn't worth it.

When he is not trying to convince children from their fate, he sings whilst sitting in the boughs of the tree that is now his home.

The Lonely Shack Zintia Peak

Sookie
ImageName: Sookie
Race: Mixed blood (Dhani/Myrian)
Birthdate: 485 AV
Birthplace: Taloba
Occupation: Fortune teller at the Lonely Shack
Gnosis: 2 marks of Avalis (Divination level 2)
Skills: Auristics - 50, Fortune Telling - 75, Shielding - 62, Tracking - 45, Unarmed Combat - 50, Weapon (Spear) - 68, Wilderness Survival (Jungle) - 22
Languages: Common (Fluent), Myrian ****I***********************(Fluent), Kontinese (Poor), Snaketongue ****I***********************(Poor)

Tall and lean, Sookie is not as ageless or ambiguous as her predecessor, but she still has an androgynous air to her. She has thick, straight brows and a square jaw, softened by a full mouth and dark, doe-like eyes. She always wears a solemn expression on her face. Her long, sleek hair, always worn loose and straight, is held out of her face by a silver headdress that coils around her head in the shape of a snake. Unlike the previous Crone, Sookie does not care much for adornment, and this is the only piece of jewelry that she wears.

Born in Taloba, the daughter of a Myrian woman and a Dhani man whom was only meant to be a fling, Sookie had a difficult time growing up. She was treated as an outcast among the Myrians, though she tried her best to prove herself and her worth, and often bullied. As a result, she never quite connected with her mother's culture, and always felt distant from their traditions.

At age twenty, Sookie decided that she could no longer live in Taloba, and slipped away into the jungle one moonless night, never to return. She doubts that she is missed, even by her own mother. For the next ten years, Sookie wandered from place to place, searching for somewhere she could call home. Eventually, five years ago, she settled in Lhavit.

Early on in her journey, she met a Konti woman who was travelling in search of her Call. The two bonded quickly, becoming traveling partners, and the Konti taught Sookie about fortune telling. Intrigued and curious, Sookie spent the next years of her life pursuing the art and honing her skill in it, earning a few Divination marks herself from Avalis along the way.

While she and her Konti friend eventually parted ways, the impact on Sookie was lasting, and the mixed blood continued her travel, now as a fortune teller. Eventually, she made her way to Lhavit, where she heard rumours of a mysterious Crone who could tell the future.

She sought out Cala, and the two got along well. Sookie started an unofficial apprenticeship with Cala, not quite committing as she feared she was inadequate compared to the older woman. Throughout their time together, Cala taught Sookie about the Dhani culture of her father, gifting her with the sole piece of jewelry she wears.

While Sookie knows she is not quite ready to fill the role of the Alheas Crone, as she is not yet a priestess of Avalis and she still has things to learn about fortune telling, after Cala's death she felt it was her responsibility to take over her friend's role and keep the legend of the Crone going. As of summer 520 AV, Sookie made her first appearances under the title of the Alheas Crone, and moved into Cala's old shack, taking up her duties.

Cala
★ ★ ★Note: As of autumn 519 AV, Cala was murdered by the Magekiller; therefore, she may only be used in flashbacks prior to this date. ST permission is only required if you wish to make use of her gnosis.

ImageName: Cala
Race: Dhani (Viper)
Birthdate: 298 AV
Birthplace: Zinrah
Occupation: Priestess of Avalis and fortune teller at the Lonely Shack
Gnosis: 3 marks of Avalis (Divination level 3)
Skills: Astrology - 80, Auristics - 80, Fortune Telling - 85, Herbalism - 50, Shielding - 78, Unarmed Combat - 25, Wilderness Survival - 76
Languages: Common (Fluent), ****I***********************Snaketongue (Fluent)

Little to nothing is known about Cala or her history. She is one of Lhavit's best kept secrets. Despite the outward effort to relocate this enigmatic seer, she is a revered member of the society. Cala is a relatively ancient Viper Dhani, groomed by a Priestess of Avalis before her.

She is seeking an apprentice in her advanced age, which has led to more frequent appearances of her shop. The actual cause of its ephemeral nature is expert shielding - when Cala senses the arrival of a customer, she simply chooses whether or not to conceal the place. This has led to the promotion of fantastical myth and yet it serves its purpose. Cala wishes to remain anonymous.

In person, the Priestess is soft-spoken and cryptic. She favors smoking a pipe and lounging about indolently. In many ways she is snake-like, down the the sheen of her hairless skin and the curling of her fingers. Her hairless head is clothed by a scarf and she sports an overwhelming amount of jewelry, both out of preference and to keep up her rather bohemian appearance.

Her shoulder bears three blossoming lilies, the petals melding from purest white to a tiger lily orange. She favors the clever over the brave, and those who she reads for receive more detail dependent on her assessment of their personality. Her role is a guide to the a person's destiny. Nothing more. Cala sees anything too direct as a form of interference.

She is sworn celibate, as were those who came before. This legacy of Seer have aided in some of Lhavit's most tumultuous events, including but not limited to the Day of Discord.

The Dove's Tower Tenten Peak
Note: This location appeared early winter 519 AV, and as such cannot be used in flashbacks prior to this date.

Altaira
ImageName: Altaira
Race: Inarta
Birthdate: 493 AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Occupation: Caretaker at the Dove's Tower
Gnosis: 2 marks of Xyna (Minting level 2)
Skills: Birdkeeping - 55, Calligraphy - 30, Falconry - 25, Morphing - 52, Musical Instrument (Flute) - 60, Musical Instrument (Violin) - 58, Observation - 90, Singing - 45, Writing - 65
Languages: Common (Fluent), ********************ll***ll***Nari (Fluent)

Altaira is a relatively young Inarta woman; she is short and slight, as per most of her race, with pale and freckled skin and vivid, bright blue eyes. Her ginger hair is always pulled back into a low, braided bun to keep it out of the way, with a few loose strands hanging to frame her face. The most notable feature about Altaira are the many small white wings that sprout from her head, including from where her ears should be.

One day some time after the dovecote appeared, after all of the birds moved in, Altaira seemingly just appeared to tend to the tower. She cares for both the tower and the birds within it, and while she is a very introverted sort that prefers her personal space, she is always warm and welcoming to visitors.

Due to the wings that extend from her head where her ears should be, Altaira is deaf. She has learned to adjust to this, though she greatly misses being able to sing and play her instruments the same way that she used to, and she largely uses a notepad to communicate with any visitors she ever has; she is also quite proficient at reading lips.

Altaira herself does not quite know or remember how she ended up in Lhavit; all she knows is she felt called to tend to the Dove's Tower. She does remember her past; growing up, she lived in Wind Reach, where she much preferred the smaller birds to the birds of prey her kind tend to prefer. She grew up keeping and tending to pigeons, and spent most of her free time learning to play her instruments, as she dreamed of making a living as a musician.

Magic also fascinated Altaira, and she eventually found a way to learn morphing, which fascinated her most; with effort and time, she could learn to alter her form to match that of the pigeons she loved so dearly, and spend her days flying with them. Altaira threw all of her spare time and effort into mastering morphing, but her obsession grew dangerous, and she ignored her limits, beginning to experiment with forms as well.

Over time, she found herself having difficulty changing back into her usual form, and found features from the dove form she favoured lingering. Eventually, she succumbed to overgiving to the point of having trouble remembering her real identity and being unable to control her morphing. As a result, she now sports the several dove wings from her head; despite her best efforts, she has not been able to get rid of them, and so she has resigned herself to her new life as an outcast and without her hearing, and has sworn off morphing.

Terrified of being assigned to Dek status due to her strange appearance and new disability, Altaira fled Wind Reach; that is where her memory blanks, and all she remembers next is arriving at the Dove's Tower in Lhavit. Chosen by Xyna and feeling her calling for the dovecote, Altaira settled in easily, and enjoys her work as the Dove's Tower keeper.

While a friendly if private sort, Altaira does not take kindly to those who treat either the tower or its birds with any level of disrespect, and will not hesitate to make her displeasure known and bar such individuals from the tower. Otherwise, she is more than welcoming to those who drop by, and will gladly share the secrets of the dovecote.

Lover's Retreat Sartu Peak

YeOoluroo
ImageName: Ye'Ooluroo
Race: Charoda
Birthdate: 484 AV
Birthplace: Charbosi
Occupation: Priestess of Zintila and keeper of Lover's Retreat
Gnosis: 3 marks of Zintila (Akarni level 3)
Skills: Architecture - 78, Astronomy - 60, Construction - 55, Coral Manipulation - 80, Endurance - 40, Persuasion - 70, Swimming - 100
Languages: Common (Fluent), Char (Fluent)

Ye’Ooluroo is an odd fish. Everyone who knew her since she was young said she dreamed of the stars before she ever even saw them. When she was old enough to venture onto land, she spent many of her nights there, watching the stars on their graceful paths across the heavens. In time, she came to hear of the Lady that led them, an Alvina, practically a Goddess in her own rights, who had sacrificed herself to stem Ivak’s destruction during the Valterrian, and Ooluroo set out on a search for this fallen Goddess.

When Ooluroo met Zintila, she felt a deep connection to the Goddess, though she felt a great distance between them as well. Over many years, Ooluroo sought to understand Zintila, and though she still feels that she knows little, she found something better than understanding; friendship. As the bond between the two grew, Zintila placed more and more of her trust in the Charoda, and as her trust grew, so did the number of marks on Ooluroo’s skin. Soon the Charoda found herself a priestess, and though she feels that she has even more questions about the Goddess, the bond they share is even stronger now.

At least twice a year, Ooluroo travels back to Charbosi to spread the word of her Goddess and gain new followers for the Alvina of the Stars. With her starlight shimmering skin, she is a favorite at the large gatherings in the city beneath the sea, and her light has led many to begin their faith in Zintila. The rest of the time she spends in her home she had built under the waves at the Tranquil Port, except for the occasions where she makes the arduous trek up to the Lover's Retreat.

It is perhaps her natural affinity for manipulating growing things that made her so efficient and natural when it came to manipulating skyglass. With an understanding of how to manipulate coral, her grasp on Akarni had a richly artistic flare that few who had been priestesses or priests decades before her could match. She was the priestess who followed the urge to provide Zintila a place to escape. After all, Ooluroo found she understood Zintila best at a distance.

It was Ooluroo that lead the construction of what is now the Lover's Retreat; making the trek up the mountain, short as it is, was and continues to be difficult for the water-born creature. The altitude, despite not being much compared to how high the city of Lhavit itself perches, is hard on her and makes it near impossible to breathe. Despite that, Ooluroo forced herself to push through, and dealt with much of the construction herself.

To this day, she continues to be the keeper of the Resort, keeping it in top-shape. It is rare indeed to see the Charoda at the Retreat rather than at the level of the docks, but it does happen on occasion.

Skills: Cosmetology - 25, Leadership - 32, Negotiation - 43, Organization - 53, Seduction - 84, Socialization - 76

Anya Tai is a woman who knows how to manipulate men to her advantage. She is tall, with vibrant red hair and cherry-red lips. Her mother, an Inartan chiet who had left Wind Reach in search of a land where she would have more of a standing, had a one night stand, intoxicated, with a tall dark-skinned man who turned out to be one of the Ethaefal. Anya grew up with her father, as her mother eventually went back to Wind Reach. Anya is often seen wandering around the courtyard, talking to the patrons. She manages the accounts and acts as hostess of the bar. She is oddly close to Miken, the head bartender at The Star's Shadow.

Languages: Common (Fluent)

Miken Heid is the second-in-command to Anya; the primary bartender at The Star's Shadow. He can be seen there every night behind the bar, whipping up drinks as efficiently as the dawn for patrons. He is a joker, and enjoys teasingly insulting near everyone who comes into the bar. His relationship with Anya, too, is somewhat peculiar. Though he is near ten years younger, the two are constantly touching, laughing and flirting. Those who attend the bar theorise that there is a secret relationship between the two. Miken is the main muscle of the bar, and despite his fun personality, won't hesitate to throw troublemakers out.

The Scholar's Demise Zintia Peak

Roric

Birthplace: Suvan Sea
Occupation: Owner and cook at the Scholar's Demise
Skills: Bartending - 30, Cooking - 50, Hypnotism - 30, Leadership - 25, Weapon (Longsword) - 35
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Roric is a tall man in his Ethaefal form, standing at 6'5". He has one piercing golden eye, his left eye covered by an eyepatch, and long, silky hair that changes colours with the seasons. Unlike most of his kind, his horns curve forward, angling downwards to frame his face.

SeasonHair ColourHorn Colour
SpringBlondeGreen
SummerGold-brownPeach
AutumnRedGold
WinterBrownLilac

At night, Roric is an average human. He is perhaps on the shorter side, with slightly long brown hair and pale blue eyes; he is still missing an eye in this form, which is how people who have yet to see both his forms often identify him.

Roric is the Synaborn of the two and the difference is quite evident. His fall transpired just outside Alvadas, leading to what he considers a thoroughly checkered past. For most of his career he worked as a mercenary, eventually losing an eye during a job. This event in particular inhibited his combat effectiveness, and led him to settle in the more docile city of Lhavit.

Aimlessly he wandered, pacing the streets at night in his human form. One particular evening he watched a Konti shift into the most beautiful women he'd ever spied, and made a vow to have her as his own. The chase was long but fruitful in the end, as inevitably his enthusiasm won the day.

Roric had a hidden passion for cooking, which manifested during his brief stay at the Shooting Star Inn. Working tirelessly he became an expert, which ultimately coincided with Aleah's idea of opening a restaurant. Shortly after their vows they opened the Scholar's Demise, where they've been ever since. With the business' unprecedented success they've flourished and become household names in the city.

This however, has not inhibited their growth. The two beings actively seek new employees and new recipes, always looking to the future. They enjoy employing buskers and street musicians to showcase their art and are willing to barter with other business owners for discounts, provided the dealings are fair.

Aleah
ImageName: Aleah
Race: Ethaefal (Night)/Konti (Day)
Birthdate: 392 AV
Birthplace: The Ahger Ocean
Occupation: Owner and bartender at the Scholar's Demise
Skills: Bartending - 50, Cooking - 30, Leadership - 30, Negotiation - 30, Unarmed Combat - 25
Languages: Common (Fluent), Kontinese (Fluent)

Aleah is on the smaller side of her race; standing at 5'6" in her divine form, she is slender, with her hair cut neatly into a bob, blunt bangs falling across her forehead. Her horns curl around her ears like those of a ram's, and her eyes are a brilliant cobalt.

SeasonHair ColourHorn Colour
WinterWhiteBlack
SpringLavenderWhite
SummerBlackGreen
AutumnGold-orangeYellow

During the day, Aleah takes the form of an even shorter Konti; her silver hair falls in waves to her waist, and delicate, pastel blue scales shimmer with opalescence along her forehead, arms, and legs.

Aleah is the Lethborn out of the two. Serious and very introspective, it was only Roric's contagious vigor that inevitably won her over. She has been a Lhavit native since her fall, her inert form waking to the shore of the Ahger Ocean. Since then she's studied a great deal, and even briefly considered becoming a Shinya. Owning a restaurant had always been her first love, however; and upon meeting Roric, her perspective vastly changed.

Aleah's enthusiasm for Leth was only matched by her love to bartend. After years of moonlighting as a mixologist, the ambition struck her to start anew. Roric came at just the right hour, encouraging her with his infallible optimism to pursue that dream and helping to reconcile the Ethaefal devotion with her earthly pleasure.

After many years spent together, the two were wed - Cheva herself attending as chaplain. Aleah is the primary mixologist for the establishment though she dabbles in cooking and for her partner, the reverse is true. These two Ethaefal work tirelessly to exalt their deities and the other pantheon through this simplistic form of tribute.

She’s not unkind, and has a soft spot for children and animals, but is blunt and sometimes painfully honest.

Mariolla doesn’t hold grudges, but is quick to teach one a lesson if she feels they need it, and getting on her bad side isn’t advised. After all, being deprived of delicious snow apple produce even for a day is a truly difficult punishment to bear.

In the summer months, Mariolla can usually be found in her rocking chair overlooking the orchards on her front porch with one of her cats on her lap, napping or telling stories to any children who may have come by.

That being said, he tells an excellent story should one convince him to do so.

The Fleeting Comet Zintia Peak

Languages: Common (Fluent)

Yarena is a strict older woman with ambitions in mind and a clear sense of what tastes good and what doesn't. A daughter in a line of chefs, cooking runs in her veins, and she can sometimes be described as "having her eye on the prize". She is proud of her establishment and even more so for her team of waiters and chefs that have helped her build this once miniature restaurant to what it is today. Yarena is also said to have an iron fist when it comes to unruly behavior, and is not above kicking customers out herself. But despite her reputation, a saucy joke or a playful smile is not far away from her regular and favored customers.

Ajah Landry

Ajah Landry is a Lhavit native from birth. Learning cooking from the famed Yarena Pachia, Ajah found joy in baking treats. Eager to put her experience to good use, she started her own bakery. Since the opening of the Sunrise Nook, she has received critical acclaim for her skill as both a chef and an innovator. In particular she supports the Azure Festival, running a sizable stand in the midst of the Plaza, offering annually themed cookies and pastries.

In conversation she is a witty and charming woman, with an offbeat sense of humor. Ajah is not opposed to chatting with customers as she works and will visit tables often, checking on the service and quality of the meal. For this she has developed a close relationship with those who visit often and is admired by many. Though unmarried, she has a steady boyfriend who occasionally visits the store– a man by the name of Sijoh.

Mhakula Teahouse Zintia Peak

Atsuya Yhavao

Languages: Common (Fluent)

Atsuya is the granddaughter of Guzo Yhavao and notoriously, a very intimidating woman at that. She is widely respected for upholding the family honor and teaching skills the family has handed down for generations, although she may not be so good at tea as she is with her fists. Atsuya is known to be incredibly strict, with a fiesty attitude and a dictator's outlook on instruction. But she is incredibly effective, having several students mastering techniques in mere seasons. Publicly, Atsuya is known more for her care of the garden plants than her hand with the tea, but the calm medative state she adopts while gardening fools no one.

Guzo Yhavao
ImageName: Guzo Yhavao
Race: Human
Birthdate: 453 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and tea-brewer at Mhakula Teahouse
Skills: Botany - 55, Cooking - 50, Herbalism - 70, Medicine - 65, Philtering - 85, Rhetoric - 35, Unarmed Combat - 70, Weapon (Dao Sword) - 53
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Poor)

Guzo Yhavao is an old man bearing a wide grin on his face and a shock of grey hair. He was known in his youth to be an ambitious, talkative type back when his father was the proprietor of the Teahouse, and was highly sought after. This reputation only grew with age. He trained hard under the guidance of his parents to brew the best tea in Lhavit, as well as in the art of combat. He once taught the practice, but since retired in 513AV because of age, and has passed the role onto his granddaughter Atsuya. Now he simply serves tea, engages in lively conversation with most of his patrons, and occasionally moves all the tables to one side of the domed establishment to allow an okomo to come in for a treat.

The Skyglass Restaurant Zintia Peak

Litia Kessel
ImageName: Litia Kessel
Race: Human
Birthdate: 490 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and cook at the Skyglass Restaurant
Skills: Cooking - 82, Food Preservation - 40, Organization - 18, Painting - 31, Socialization - 15
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Older than she looks, Litia inherited the Skyglass Restaurant at the age of 20 from an old mentor of hers, after the man’s death in 509 AV. She was dumped with control of the entire business and its employees, and little experience with such things. Sure, she could cook better than any she knew, but running things? That was way out of her league. Over the first year of her ownership, business sank and money ran dry. Litia’s lack of skills had caused the restaurant to crash and burn. Luckily, she made a friend with great business skills, and together the two brought the place back to life, with a whole new face. Years later, they now work together, Litia running the kitchen, and her friend running everything else.

Litia herself is a quiet person, though prone to an outbreak every now and then. She’s obsessed with her work, taking pride in every dish she cooks up. Despite her skill, she’s really quite sheltered, hiding from the rest of Lhavit in her own little domain of the kitchen. She generally tries to avoid customer interaction, leaving that to Uat.

Uat Moji
ImageName: Uat Moji
Race: Human
Birthdate: 494 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Manager at the Skyglass Restaurant
Skills: Mathematics - 55, Organization - 62, Planning - 45, Socialization - 36, Tactics - 69
Languages: Common (Fluent)

A little obsessed with business, and with a knack for numbers, Uat is outgoing and determined. After meeting Litia for the first time in 510 AV, she immediately took to the girl, despite the cook’s protests. Learning of her dilemma, she took it upon herself to bring the Skyglass Restaurant back to life, despite being younger than Litia, and to make money while she was at it. A few years later, her hard work paid off, and the eatery is now a popular and well respected restaurant.

Personality wise, Uat is smart to a little bit of an extreme, obsessing over one project at a time, putting all her though and effort into the thing. At times, it can be a little scary. Still, she gets things done, and gets them done well, and is great with customers. She always welcomes them with a smile, and speaks politely, and is actually a great person to start a conversation with, if she has the time.

The Okomo Estates Sharai Peak

Milla Raike

Occupation: Manager at the Okomo Estates
Skills: Animal Husbandry - 25, Gardening - 56, Herbalism - 65, Leadership - 42, Organization - 40, Riding (Okomo) - 40
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Milla was raised by her father, the previous owner and manager of the Okomo Estates, and took over when he passed away several years ago. Despite her young age, she is by no means a pushover when it comes to getting things done, proving time and again an aptitude for keeping the Okomo Estates running smoothly and efficiently. She is also known for being quite adept at riding okomo, handy for occasions when the goat-beasts venture into resident's gardens.

Solar Wind Apartments Zintia Peak

Shay
ImageName: Shay
Race: Kelvic (Crow)
Birthdate: 512 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Housekeeper at the Solar Winds Apartments
Skills: Cooking - 35, Interrogation - 40, Investigation - 50, Observation - 76, Rhetoric - 28, Seduction - 20, Stealth - 68, Subterfuge - 30
Gnosis: 1 mark of Akajia (Nightstalking level 1)
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Shay is somewhat of an unconventional housekeep; the Kelvic looks to be approaching middle-age, and is not particularly outgoing or energetic. While she is personable enough, she isn't quite friendly; there's a gleam in her dark eyes that speaks of curiosity, and she always seems to be watching those around her. She listens more than she talks; which, lucky for her, she's good at encouraging people to talk, and loves to listen. Shay, as all good crows do, likes to hoard. This includes shiny bits and bobs and odds and ends; but it also includes secrets.

To this end, Shay adores her job. The Solar Winds see many interesting people between their permanent residents and those staying only a short time. Learning to cook was Hesper's only requirement of her for the job, and she's found it quite beneficial; while she doesn't necessarily enjoy it, she finds that cooking for others makes them much more talkative.

Shay has only been working at the Solar Winds for a short time; she was hired on in 516 AV when Lana disappeared due to the Vantha hunting. Hesper was getting desperate, and while her skills as a housekeep may be lacking, the two got along splendidly; Shay ran herself in circles attempting to get information out of the man. In the end, the two ended up bonding, which sealed the deal.

Hesper
Image
Name: Hesper
Race: Ethaefal (Night)/Human (Day)
Birthdate: 410 AV
Birthplace: Suvan Sea
Occupation: Owner and manager of the Solar Winds Apartments
Skills: Astrology - 45, Leadership - 80, Meditation - 50, Philosophy - 87, Politics - 40, Rhetoric - 70, Writing - 65
Languages: Common (Fluent), Fratava (Basic), Tukant (Basic), Vani (Basic), Nari (Poor)

Little is known about Hesper, his fall, or his history afterwards, but most can see that he is well-traveled and knowledgeable. Hesper runs the Solar Wind Apartments from behind the scenes, as well as publishes some works concerning various issues, such as some philosophical pieces in regards to events and issues within the city. He has a deep understanding of the political relations throughout the Circle of Towers, and seems to find the plots within it quite amusing, though very few can tell what he truly thinks.

The elusive, Lethborn owner of the Solar Wind Apartments is only occasionally seen, and mostly at night. His divine form is most recognized, standing at a proud 6'4" with horns that curve back and striking blue eyes that contrast his marble skin.

SeasonHair ColourHorn Colour
WinterDark silverBlack
SpringPurple-greyWhite
SummerBlackGreen
AutumnCopperYellow

Hesper prefers to avoid going out during the day; but even if he did, few would recognize his mortal form. A human man of an average height, Hesper is entirely unassuming with pale brown hair and dark eyes, with no particularly distinguishing features.

Some suspect that Hesper has more than a few connections to the Twilight house and considering his mysterious ways, it would not be entirely surprising. However on the flip side, he shares characteristics and various views from all of the houses; having a tendency to side with all and none at the same time. If prompted, Hesper will tend to lean towards the Dusk House, humoring his answer with, "Perhaps I wouldn't, if not for their tea." He holds each of the Houses' teachings in high regard, though he also believes that too much discipline may lead to the something different from the desired result.

If one is to happen upon him, he is open to discussions, and may even help work out their problems, even if his methods may be at times a bit cryptic. Most recently, people have sighted him almost always accompanied by his new housekeeper. Whispered rumours were impossible to keep at bay, and while Hesper neither confirms nor denies anything when asked, it is true that he and Shay have become bondmates, something the Ethaefal never expected.

Lana Winterflame
★ ★ ★Note: Lana Winterflame went missing as of winter 516 AV due to the Vantha hunting; therefore, she may only be used in flashbacks prior to this date.

ImageName: Lana Winterflame
Race: Vantha
Birthdate: 488 AV
Birthplace: Avanthal
Occupation: Previous housekeeper at the Solar Winds Apartments
Gnosis: 1 mark of Morwen (Ice Reaving level 1)
Skills: Carving - 30, Cooking - 55, Gardening - 43, Negotiation - 51, Storytelling - 38, Weapon (Knife) - 36
Languages: Common (Fluent), Vani (Fluent)

The one looking after the well-being of those within the Solar Wind Apartments, Lana enjoys her position as housekeeper and cook, and finds a love in watching over her charges' transitions into the city. After having gained much skill in her hold, the Vantha decided to travel and learn various styles of cooking. However, she soon found herself enamoured with the city of Lhavit, fascinated by the knowledge and stories within the city.

She quickly found a job at the Solar Wind Apartments, a place that much agreed with her, for here she could interact and listen to the stories of the diverse group of people who reside there. Lana is a wonderful cook, and is not adverse to serving stories along with her meals. She also has an extensive knowledge of where to get the best deals, though one can expect a challenge in extracting it.

Following Morwen's disappearance and the Mizahar-wide call to hunt and exterminate Vantha for a generous reward, Lana suddenly and quietly vanished without a trace; she is not dead, as nobody claimed a reward for her death, but nobody who knew her has any idea where she has gone.

The Shooting Star Inn Zintia Peak

Mara
ImageName: Mara
Race: Inarta
Birthdate: 491 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Barmaid at the Shooting Star Inn
Skills: Bartending - 45, Cooking - 27, Observation - 40, Seduction - 65, Socialization - 68
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Basic)

Mara is the daughter of 2nd generation emigrants from Wind Reach. She grew up in a fairly cushy life with her twin brother, Raeyn, and became something of a really prolific social butterfly. Beautiful, vivacious, and headstrong, she excels in social situations and is always the centre of attention. She's also really quite flirtatious, a quality that has gained her quite the reputation; for better, or for worse. Mara, when working, will greet customers and offer them a drink, and see if they need to rent a room.

Aleth
ImageName: Aleth
Race: Kelvic (Donkey)
Birthdate: 510 AV
Birthplace: Sunberth
Occupation: Cleaner at the Shooting Star Inn
Skills: Cleaning - 50, Organization - 45, Stealth - 26, Torture - 30, Unarmed Combat - 55, Weapon (Club) - 45
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Aleth is a lanky, gangly kind of man. There are several signs of malnourishment on his body; a few minor scabs from persistent rashes, and one arm is weak at the elbow. His hair is blondish-grey, and his eyes are a deep, warm brown. When in his Kelvic form of a donkey, he has large ears that are typical of his race, and his gait is a little slowed due to the poor joint issue.

Aleth was born in Sunberth. His mother soon learned he was Kelvic, and promptly sold the poor lad to a local lout named Ronen who had recently come into some mizas. He grew up a slave, but his Sunberthian background gave him a hidden strength, even amongst the hardships of slavery. His master was not kind, but he was fairly clever. His cleverness, however, did not extend to mizas. Mostly, he fought and won, living life through bullying to get his way, and Aleth was dragged along in his master’s wake. Ronen made him his right-hand man. Aleth was forced to hurt others he never intended or wanted to, otherwise he would be beaten harshly.

Eventually, Ronen ran afoul of a bigger lout than he, and he scraped enough mizas together to leave Sunberth. Through a series of wild, skin-of-the-teeth adventures, he heard of a woman in Lhavit, an ex-lover, who had come into some wealth. With the tantalizing thought of gleaming mizas, Ronen took the long and arduous journey north, with Aleth in tow. However, Ronen was getting older and more stupid. He trusted Aleth, his trusty Kelvic, and over the long boat ride had got used to forgetting about him as there was no need to keep an eye on him when in the middle of the ocean. Yet as soon as Aleth got a moment alone, he took his chance, and finally escaped from Ronen.

He now lives in Lhavit, tenuously making a living as a cleaner. He is a quiet man, twitchy, and tries to keep himself to himself. However, once befriended, he is happy to talk about some aspects of his life, including even some of the dark deeds he was asked to do when he was a slave. He’ll never be happy to share this information, though.

Terence Khesha
ImageName: Terence Khesha
Race: Human
Birthdate: 486 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and manager at the Shooting Star Inn
Gnosis: 1 mark of Wysar (Evantia level 1)
Skills: Bodybuilding - 45, Cooking - 50, Leadership - 85, Negotiation - 25, Storytelling - 25, Unarmed Combat - 60, Weapon (Zweihander) - 75
Languages: Common (Fluent)

The Shooting Star Inn was originally his mother's business, left to Terence upon her death. Terence is a fierce warrior, and often spends time patrolling the city unofficially with the Shinya. He is often away from the inn on 'business', which he never elaborates on, leaving the Inn to be run by his capable staff. Some years ago, his radiant young wife passed away. Since then, Terence has been spending less time with his mother's business and more time prowling the city.

In person he is civil but quite fierce, disinterested in anything more than business affairs. He has no time for frivolity, and has completely detached himself from the opposite sex. It's rumoured he wishes for death on his frequent outings, so that ownership of the Inn will transfer to his younger brother.

Touch of Fire Shinyama Peak

Aska Terras
ImageName: Aska Terras
Race: Isur
Birthdate: 408 AV
Birthplace: Sultros
Occupation: Owner and smith at Touch of Fire
Gnosis: 1 mark of Izurdin (Izentor level 1)
Skills: Blacksmithing - 75, Construction - 41, Leadership - 76, Metalsmithing - 85, Negotiation - 32, Organization - 71, Weaponsmithing - 52
Languages: Common (Fluent), Isur (Fluent)

Aska Terras has lived in Lhavit for as long as any of the Lhavitians currently alive can probably remember. She came at the tender (Isurian) age of 30, seeking out the beautiful city and wishing to perfect her trade. Though Aska is of the Terras clan, she is not likely ever to be remembered as the most skilled smith in Mizahar. What she will be remembered for is her fierce love for Lhavit and all that it stands for.

Aska's shop is essentially a one stop shop for all things metal in Lhavit. She does not simply specialize in weaponry. In truth, she much prefers crafting and repairing tools that benefit the working class of Lhavit such as farmers, rather than forging weapons day in and day out. Despite this, Aska has become quite apt forging weapons, particularly the rare and beautiful katana, and her blades of this type are highly prized.

Those who work as one of Aska's many apprentices will find that she is obsessed with deadlines. When an order comes in, it should and will be filled as soon as possible. This is where Aska's creativity comes into play; though she is not especially skilled in all aspects of the forge, she can sketch ideas and plans to help her improvise solutions and maintain both speed and quality in her work. She expects her cohorts to learn to do this as well as they train under her.

Etran was born in Sunberth and lived there for part of his young life with his parents. His father was a blacksmith and his mother stayed home to take care of him and the house. Most days Etran could be found with his father at the shop, learning by asking questions a mile a minute like all children do. Finally at the age of thirteen he was allowed to start work with his father, learning by action rather than talking now.

The lessons in hard labor and fresh burns he went home with every day mellowed the boy out until he was just as pensive and methodical as his old man. His mother passed when he was sixteen and both men became more reclusive and grew apart without her warmth to bind them. Even their job wasn’t enough to keep them together over the next few years. Finally the young novice blacksmith left home hoping to find light somewhere in remembrance of his mother.

Word of the starry city reached Etran and he knew it was the only place that could remind him of the beauty his mother possessed would be that city. When he was twenty one he entered Lhavit with a heavy heart and sought out the Touch of Fire to dedicate his life to the one trade he knew. No longer a young man Etran is hardened and weathered from his travels and the only love he has ever known, sweat and hard labor.

He is a no nonsense kind of man and often comes across gruffer then he means to. Close to no one but his boss, Aska Terras, he is dedicated to her vision for her shop and training the apprentices as much as he is dedicated to his own work. His relationship with Aska is often heated with debates and yelling but even when they butt heads Etran always respects the Isurian. Quality over quantity is his motto and he's not afraid to tell someone if they need to redo a project. Though he’s not slow at his job, and will always make his deadlines, he will throw out a project without blinking if it isn’t up to his standards of excellence. He expects the same from the anyone working in the shop.

Janoh Akimoto
ImageName: Janoh Akimoto
Race: Benshira
Birthdate: 450 AV
Birthplace: Wadrass
Occupation: Shopkeeper in the Azure Market
Skills: Animal Husbandry - 40, Dyeing - 30, Etching - 46, Leatherworking - 89, Metalsmithing - 66, Sewing - 40
Languages: Common (Fluent), Shiber (Basic)

Despite being born in Wadrass, Janoh made the arduous trip to Lhavit with his parents when he was quite young; he was raised a Lhavitian, and the culture is all he knows. To this day, he doesn't know exactly why they left his homeland, but the end result is that he grew up in Lhavit. An older man now, Janoh has loved and revered the okomo since his first day in the city, and he devotes his livelihood to crafting armour and decorations for them and their riders.

Janoh knows the marketplace like the back of his hand, and if someone enters his shop asking for something he cannot provide, he will often give directions or even guide them to the nearest shop that sells what they are looking for. Janoh is known to be a dedicated worker, only creating the highest of quality products. He used to work as a caretaker at the Okomo Villa, but his love and passion for the arts inspired him to start a business of his own after his father passed away and left him with a spices shop; he converted the shop into what it is today, dedicating it to his love for the okomo.

He often calls on the help of more skilled friends to collaborate with him, such as the smith Aska Terras and even friends among the Seiza to help him craft the occasional skyglass piece.

The Starry Chalice Zintia Peak

Tyan Jnet
ImageName: Tyan J'net
Race: Human
Birthdate: 488 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and philterer at the Starry Chalice
Skills: Cooking - 55, Herbalism - 32, Leadership - 62, Painting - 18, Philtering - 71, Teaching - 50
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Not even middle-aged yet, Tyan J'net defies the philterer's stereotype, that of a crabbed man bent under the weight of years, with fingertips stained by unknown chemicals and eyes rheumy from the fumes. A full-figured lady, Tyan combines in one body an expert philterer and keen chef both, with masses of lustrous black hair and a booming laugh fit for three people at once. To some, she can come across as rather intimidating; Tyan's large frame, loud voice and imperious posture all combine to make her rather larger-than-life. She has, however, been serving the good citizens of Lhavit with their philtering requirements for years, and as such is a well-respected member of the city.

She keeps several apprentices, to ensure demand doesn't outstrip supply, and is known to be a patient yet exacting teacher. Nothing less than perfection will do for any goods put on her shelves or bearing the lily-seal of the Starry Chalice, and she strives to impart a sense of pride in their work to her apprentices. Safety is a common theme; customers will frequently hear the shop ring to Tyan's impressive full-bore bellow if a vital piece of safety equipment – gloves, aprons, steel-capped boots and so forth – is neglected by her philterers.

Tyan comes from a family of artists, their work highly regarded in Lhavit, and was initially expected to follow in her parents' footsteps, either painting in a studio or working on the sculptures their family was known for. However, she quickly found the preparation of the pigments and cleaning fluids, the linseed oil preservatives and other such chemical accouterments to be much more interesting than the actual artworks themselves. As per Lhavitian custom, her interest was encouraged and nurtured with a succession of apprenticeships and, in the fullness of time, when she was judged sufficiently skilled, her parents purchased a stall for her in the Azure Market.

Naturally, her own personal honour, and the values instilled by both her parents and the culture of Lhavit itself, saw that she worked hard to prove her skill and make her business a success, enabling her to pay off her debt to her parents in short order. Despite the expansion in customers over the years as her skill and reputation grew, she has steadfastly refused to move to an establishment in the Surya Plaza, or any other prominent location, preferring the bustle and local flavor of the Market and purchasing unused back space from the shops on either side for the purposes of expansion.

Wullis Weapons Zintia Peak

Occupation: Owner and shopkeeper at Wullis Weapons
Skills: Leadership - 30, Persuasion - 40, Teaching - 20, Weapon (Dagger) - 40, Weapon (Quarterstaff) - 50
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Wullis is a quiet, introspective man, possessing twinkling brown eyes. He has a mop of grey hair and a neatly-trimmed grey beard across his jaw. He is tall and slim, and wears a kindly look on his face.

Once upon a time, Wullis shared the ownership of his shop with his son, Marek. In his youth, Marek had been a promising swordsman and aspiring personal guard. Wullis and Wullis' wife, Amelia, had encouraged their son with his endeavours. Gradually, over time, Marek became a little strange and a little aloof, but they loved him nonetheless, though they worried. They argued from time to time, and laughed from time to time. Marek gave his sword back to his father after several years of apathy and sullenness, and from then on out the two men worked together.

Wullis was upset, but accepted his son's decision after it became apparent he couldn't change his mind. One day however, Wullis discovered a large amount of money had been stolen from the family funds. He began to investigate, and it became apparent that Marek had taken the money and left Lhavit on a merchant's ship. Angry and distraught, Wullis was forced to move to a smaller shop so that he could afford to keep living. His wife, Amelia, had been privy to Marek's departure (though not the theft), and the deception forced the two apart as Wullis could no longer trust her.

Now, Marek's sword hanging above the counter is the only reminder of his son left. Time has passed and the man has become accustomed to his new life. Wullis spends his days tending the shop, buying new stock, and enjoying wine on a pleasant evening. Although he has few friends, he is a pleasant man to chat with once you get to know him.

Shilo is an extremely good looking young woman. She is thin, tall, and ‎elegant, but extremely lovely and always willing to please. She will go out of her way to make ‎sure you are happy with your experience at the Silk Palace.

She insists upon being called ‎Shilo by all customers, though Mae and Lae always call her “Mistress Hai”. She inherited the ‎shop from her prematurely deceased father, after a rather unfortunate incident with the ‎fabric cutter, and by all accounts, has carried on his legacy – and the Silk Palace’s – ‎extremely well.

They always ‎finish each other’s sentences and, to anyone watching, they look as if they are rehearsing an ‎acrobatics act when they are running to get the fabric for Mistress Hai.

They are the ones ‎who will constantly offer you the complimentary Lhavitian tea, who will direct you to the ‎armchair where you will conduct business with Shilo, and who will run in and out of the storage ‎room, always extremely eager to please.‎ They are also the ones will take your measurements; this is the only time one might see the twins apart, as if it is very busy, one will take measurements while the other will deal with customers.

Betali Sauhja
ImageName: Betali Sauhja
Race: Human
Birthdate: 470 AV
Birthplace: Riverfall
Occupation: Seamstress at the Silk Palace
Skills: Auristics - 27, Leadership - 30, Persuasion - 45, Sewing - 68, Weaving - 50
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Betali possesses a sharp tongue. She doesn't take kindly to people that she considers to be slow, or time-wasters. She does have a keen eye for colour and enjoys creating fashionable, yet long-lasting garments that can be worn often and regularly. However, if any drippy young thing comes in to the shop without really knowing what they are looking for, she will not have the patience for such a person.

Her style tends to verge towards rich colours with details that are hidden yet appear in the right lighting or under the correct scrutiny. She also enjoys creating clothing with artfully exposed sections, such as the lower back, shoulders, or sides, and she uses these exposed sections like decorations in their own right. Strangely, although well-made, the clothing she wears is usually quite plain, whereas her creations for others can often be said to be visually rather beautiful.

Betali was born in Riverfall to two Lhavitian emigrants. From her mother, she inherited a love of 'glittering Lhavit'. When she was still living in Riverfall, she fell in love and married another human man, a labourer who later was accidentally killed in a construction project. The wealthy Akalak that had commissioned the project gifted Betali a beautiful gold choker inset with 3 green gemstones as a heartfelt apology for the accident, but the woman grew to become disillusioned with Riverfall, and bitter with the life she lived there.

She worked hard and saved enough mizas to travel to Lhavit. She traveled with her son Stuart Saujha, who was born in 504 AV, and they arrived in Lhavit on the 89th Summer, 519 AV. As well as fashion, Betali is intensely interested in the magic of auristics, and hopes to gain enough favour to become a student of the Dusk Tower.

Occupation: Owner and jewelcrafter at the Shining Diamond
Skills: Jewelcrafting - 85, Leadership - 55, Metalsmithing - 50, Negotiation - 35, Philtering - 35
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Guancho Li is an elderly man, with wiry white hair and a bedraggled appearance. One would never guess he were the owner of one of the most respected shops in Lhavit. He runs the shop alone, having never married and having no children. This loneliness makes him quiet and introspective, though he is at heart, a lovely man.

Upon entering his shop, one would find him sitting quietly in his favorite seat next to the counter, and will remain sitting until you specifically ask for something or make it known to him that you wish to make a purchase. Having a pensive nature, he will not go out of his way to assist you, but nor will he completely ignore you. He has firms opinions however, and does not take kindly at any attempt to bargain.

Aludra
ImageName: Aludra
Race: Human
Birthdate: 490 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Assistant jewelcrafter at the Shining Diamond
Skills: Childcare - 5, Cosmetology - 85, History - 30, Jewelcrafting - 55, Meditation - 28, Metalsmithing - 20, Singing - 32
Languages: Common (Fluent), Fratava (Poor)

Aludra stands at a relatively tall 5'10", with pale green eyes and and smooth, peachy skin. Her make-up is always flawlessly done, and she has a taste for finer clothes and jewelry. She is friendly on the surface, but there's something distant and aloof about her. She's not particularly good with customers, and for that reason, she spends most of her time in the workshop in the back rather than in the front trying to sell any wares.

Aludra has lived in Lhavit her whole life. At a young age, she fell in love with a charming Svefra man who stopped with his pod for trading; her heart broke when he left, seemingly without a care in the world for her, and Aludra soon realized she was pregnant. Her son is named Ein, and he was born in 508 AV; Aludra usually hires caretakers to watch over the boy.

Aludra works as a jewelcrafter. She is very dedicated to her craft and will often spend all day working, even through the rest hours. As such, she is rarely at her apartment at the Solar Winds. Even at night, she will often take to wandering the streets or meditating at one of the temples. It's almost as if she's avoiding something...

Only recently hired on to work at the Shining Diamond, she is still new to the establishment and to working under Guancho.

The Good Book Zintia Peak

Keper Masute
ImageName: Keper Masute
Race: Human
Birthdate: 472 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner, papermaker, and bookbinder at the Good Book
Skills: Bookbinding - 76, Calligraphy - 32, Leatherworking - 38, Papermaking - 51, Sewing - 40, Singing - 24, Writing - 60
Languages: Common (Fluent), Arumenic (Fluent)

Keper was born in Lhavit; however, his mother came from the far-off desert region of Eyktol. A mere human among a heavily Eypharian population, she decided when she was young to leave and make something of herself elsewhere; and so Keper was raised on tales of hot, sandy lands and exotic many-armed people.

Once upon a time, Keper must have been a tall, strapping man. Various hardships have aged him prematurely, the constant work has bowed his back, but they have failed to mar his smile. The bookbinder is soft-spoken and gentle. He often feels it's not his place to speak unless his work is in some way concerned. In that case however one may feel the love he holds for his craft, a love that is only rivalled by the less passionate but enduring love for his wife. Without her, he'll often say, he'd be lost.

Keper is blissfully unaware that he sings to himself when working. In his tender voice held low, Arumenic words are carried along in a melody somewhere between a lullaby and a dirge. If queried about it however, he will categorically deny having sung.

Bright Lights Zintia Peak

Umelus Brasa
ImageName: Umelus Brasa
Race: Human
Birthdate: 459 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and candlemaker at Bright Lights
Skills: Animal Husbandry - 31, Candlemaking - 67, Carving - 52, Organization - 27
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Umelus didn't originally start as a candle maker. During his youth, and the beginning of his adulthood, he worked on Lhavit's farms, mostly working with the animals and livestock. However, in 480 AV, at the age of 21, he fell in love with a young novice candlemaker named Cana, who was trying the art for the first time. They married, and on a whim, he tried making a few candles to please his spouse. However, he quickly discovered he had an aptitude for candlemaking, and fell in love with it. Together, he and his wife founded Bright Lights, where they could work together in their passion, and hone their skills. Soon after, they had a daughter, Clisca, then Nesion, a son. Both were taught the art their parents had worked so hard to learn.

Though Clisca joined her father and mother in working at Bright Lights, Nesion found something else he preferred, and moved into that occupation. Their lives were quite happy and successful, until the Summer of 513 AV. During the riots following the quakes, Cana was killed in one way or another. Though it hit the small family hard, they quickly recovered, and instead of being a three-worker business, Bright Lights dropped to only two candle makers.

Umelus is a quiet man, though he can be stern if needed, and will occasionally fly into a rage if provoked. However, he is generally quite friendly and polite to customers, despite being a man of few words. If asked, he will go into an intimate description of some of his creations, more particularly the carved ones. He is now quite old, with thick greying hair, and a slightly stooped posture. Other than that, he tries not to let his age get to him, and normally, it doesn't. He is as limber and skilled at his work as ever, still surpassing his daughter in quality and creativity.

Clisca Brasa
ImageName: Clisca Brasa
Race: Human
Birthdate: 494 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Candlemaker at Bright Lights
Gnosis: 1 mark of Zulrav (Stormwarden level 1)
Skills: Candlemaking - 47, Carving - 38, Drawing - 22
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Clisca was born in raised in a family of avid candlemakers, and quickly took to the practice to the great delight of her parents. She and her brother were incredibly close, despite Nesion's lack of interest in the family trade. However, candlemaking wasn't her only passion. She was born on a stormy day, and her family took that as a message that she would always be closer the Zulrav than most others. The young girl grew up believing this, and worshiped the god as much as any of Lhavit's other patrons, possibly more. Once she was matured, both in mind and in her love of storms in the wind, the Zulrav deemed her worthy of his mark, and she became a Stormwarden.

When Summer came around, coupled with the woman's mother's death, the Stormwarden was downtrodden. Though she'd been close to her father, her mother had always been her role model; and now that figure was gone. However, she quickly recovered...on the outside at least. She still suffers from minor depression and will occasionally break into tears, but rarely lets this show.

Personality wise, Clisca can be quite friendly when she wants to. Since the loss of her mother, she has been more reserved, but is becoming more and more accustomed to the loss every day. She rarely smiles, however, and it's considered a great accomplishment by her father to be able to crack a grin onto the woman's face. Still, she works harder than ever, and tries to put her gift to good use.

Sweeping tattoos cover her shoulders, back, and chest. Adie specializes in floristry, and is often the one who will work with customers to put together arrangements, having detailed knowledge of what flowers and colours have what meanings.

Adie was born on the Sea of Grass, and grew up a Drykas; she bonded with her Strider when she was 15, but tragedy struck, and only a few years later her Strider was wounded and killed during a hunt. A great depression fell over the woman; she stayed with her pavilion long enough to get a new set of windmarks signifying the devastating change, and then left the Sea of Grass, taking her Strider's name.

She traveled for some time before finally deciding to move to Lhavit; the mountainous region and decided lack of horses was as stark a change from Endrykas as she could get. Eventually, Adie met Noemi, and the two bonded over their shared love of flowers; slowly falling in love, the other woman helped Adie heal, and eventually the two opened a shop together.

He fancies himself a helper at the shop, and is often running around between the legs of customers; he delights in being asked his opinion, and will pick and choose his favourite flowers and colours gladly for customers.

Kita is an older woman, who has been running Healing Hands since she was in her early 20s. She is always dressed finely, her hair neatly brushed and tied back and her face well-made up; she keeps up with her appearance, and is a frequent visitor to the Starglow Spa.

Talkative and open, Kita has no troubles stopping customers, especially returning ones, for lengthy chats; she can sometimes forget herself, and more than once someone has had to interrupt her to excuse themselves, but Kita never takes it badly.

She is kind and gentle, often smiling, and encourages customers to take a piece of fruit or slice of bread with them when leaving the store; she started the tradition so that people spending their breaks from work at the shop could have time to relax in the park and still get some food, thus not having to worry about rushing back to work.

Kita used to run the herbalism shop with her husband, but he passed away recently; her son took it upon himself to help her out with the shop after his father's death, despite her protests. Secretly, Kita couldn't be more pleased to have her son working with her, and she tends to fuss over him.

He worked at the Obsidian Club as a bouncer, and was attending the Dusk Tower as a student to learn auristics; but suddenly and recently, his father passed away, leaving his mother alone and without help managing Healing Hands.

Having always been close with his mother, Remas took it upon himself to quit his job and pause his studies so that he could help her run the herbalism shop, ignoring her protests. While he doesn't mind helping his mother, he is somewhat eager to be able to resume his studies at the Dusk Tower.

Remas is much quieter than his mother; she tends to deal with the customers, while Remas simply keeps the shop tidy. However, he will sometimes manage the front counter when Kita is otherwise busy.

Lucis and Lucis Tenten Peak

Edward Lucis
ImageName: Edward Lucis
Race: Human
Birthdate: 453 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and gadgeteer at Lucis and Lucis
Skills: Carpentry - 34, Drawing - 57, Gadgeteering - 81, Metalsmithing - 71
Languages: Common (Fluent)

By now, most people would have expected Edward Lucis to have long since given up at least the day-to-day running of the gadgeteering shop that bears the family name to one of his sons – but he has yet to do so. Elderly, and showing every hard year of life on his face, he is still as energetic and sprightly as ever, never showing any sign of slowing down or descending into irrelevance or senility. His hands and brain are still just as nimble as they ever were, capable of conceiving, planning, and assembling even the most intricate and fiddly of constructs with a surety and skill that most can only envy.

He is a well-known and genial figure in the city, his personal charisma in no small part helping Lucis & Lucis to retain its dominance of the gadgeteering market in Lhavit, and his creations are proverbial in their quality. He has a penchant for elaborate astronomical clocks and intricate automata, rather than the more mundane heavy machinery that made his family their money in earlier years, but nonetheless insists on rigorous quality across every single machine to leave his premises.

This is not to say he’s sailed through life without a single mishap or accident, however; his hands are crisscrossed with a fine, pale latticework of scars, mute testament to an explosive accident in the past, and a small scar cuts across his forehead, above his left eye – a reminder of what can happen when something goes wrong in the demanding field. Pockmarks stud several of his fingers, too, the results of failed spring-crafting experiments when he was but a novice.

The possibilities of gadgeteering, and its synergy with many of the magics Lhavit is known for, drew him from a very early age, fitting in with the family tradition; he grew up around whirling gears and clanking automatons, learned to read and write from technical specifications and to draw from carefully-preserved gadgeteering manuals. It was therefore a natural progression for him to devote himself more thoroughly to the world he found himself immersed in, to harness the mundane magic of worm-gears and tireless automata, in order to make the lives of the starry city’s citizens a little bit easier and more comfortable.

The Spinning Glimmers Sharai Peak

Kay-Kay
ImageName: Kay-Kay
Race: Kelvic (Mountain cat)
Birthdate: 514 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Leader of the Spinning Glimmers dance troupe
Skills: Acrobatics - 42, Dancing - 38, Juggling - 56, Leadership - 47, Reimancy - 76, Storytelling - 27
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Kay-Kay is a brown striped, mountain cat Kelvic who’s only four years old. She’s a simple girl, doesn’t need much to keep her happy, but loves to talk, keen to speak her mind, and always seems to have a story on hand for the occasion. She knows many stories, some factual and from her personal life while other stories are of a more mystical nature, her favorite being fables and fairytales. Inside her bones is a fire and zeal which can come off as eccentricity that most people find endearing. Finding herself blessed with piety, she hails Akvin and Syna, the lord of creativity and the goddess of the sun. Kay-Kay is always on the go with her curious and good-willed nature in tow. She enjoys naps and a good cup of coffee, extra sugar please.

In recent times she’s found herself head of a dance group, The Spinning Glimmers, who specialize in mixing reimancy with dance, juggling, poi, and hula hooping. The group is her life, when Kay-Kay isn’t catching a nap she’s here, training and working her fuzzy butt off for the next performance. With the constant flow of drop outs, people who can’t handle the skills or end up not liking the work (sometimes due to Kay-Kay's attitude), she needs the Dawn Tower, where she learned her fire reimancy from, to find new people willing to be apart of her troupe.

When she's in the zone the gloves come off, she loses some of her cheery demeanor and gains a "what I say, goes" attitude, she's very serious about her work even if it is a sideshow act. Not one to take no for an answer, she pushes the limits of her performers every time they practice, the ante going up ten fold when it's time to finally perform. It's taken her a long time to get her troupe to where it is and she intends to keep her hard work on the up and up.

Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Fluent)

Fretu is a reserved, 28 year old man and keeps his cards close to heart. This doesn’t stop his good humor from coming out though as he laughs a lot, sometimes inappropriately. He’s a cat person and Kay-Kay is his bondmate. Not only is he the composer and main performer for the Spinning Glimmers, he’s also the caretaker for the gardens where their practicing is held. This is what takes up most of his free time, when he’s not in he and Kay-Kay’s shanty writing or practicing his music he’s out in the gardens taking care of the lot. Calm, poetic, carefree, are all good words to describe Fretu.

Most of his music is upbeat and fast paced, a stark contrast to the man’s calm demeanor. His preferred instrument is the lute. When he plays he goes into a trance-like state of pure concentration, it’s in his music where he expresses himself the most. On occasion, if the person is promising, he’ll take on a pupil and teach them the ropes. He enjoys this work, but will only take you on if you already have some knowledge of the instrument in question, he doesn’t like having to teach which string is where and how to hold the instrument correctly, he’d rather teach music theory and what notes to play.

Race: Human
Birthdate: 483 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and potter at Tain's Studio

Skills: Architecture - 45, Carving - 15, Drawing - 55, Mathematics - 60, Observation - 30, Painting - 40, Pottery - 80, Sculpting - 28
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Despite still being fairly young, Tain is already a very accomplished potter. He made his first, albeit lopsided bowl at age 4, and has been hooked ever since. At just 15 he received his first commission and that was what spurred him to set up his own studio. At 21, he had his wish, and Tain’s Studio was built. He runs it with his partner Nat. Tain is a reserved but friendly person, and is something of a perfectionist; he tends to hover over potters and watch them with a keen eye.

Nat Hawker

Occupation: Co-owner and painter at Tain's Studio
Skills: Drawing - 65, Musical Instrument (Flute) - 40, Organization - 10, Painting - 75, Socialization - 30
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Nat is Tain’s partner both in business and in life. She retains a youthful appearance, always keeping her blonde hair short to avoid getting paint in it. She is the primary painter at the Studio, and the younger or less experienced artists often ask her advice. Nat can often be found still painting as the sun is setting, transferring the colours of the evening sky to her current canvas. She also loves to collaborate with the other painters to create joint works of art.

Aoife Raylene

Race: Human
Birthdate: 492 AV

Occupation: Sculptor and carver at Tain's Studio

Skills: Carving - 75, Drawing - 15, Gardening - 64, Pottery - 28, Salvage - 45, Singing - 32, Sculpting - 78, Painting - 25
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Aoife is a bright, cheerful, and bubbly young woman. She has somewhat messy black hair, warm skin, and dark eyes. She dresses eccentrically, always trying bold mixes of bright colours and patterns, and loves dramatic, gaudy jewelry. She works as a carver and sculptor at Tain's Studio, often singing while she works and encouraging other artists to join her. She has no qualms with offering others advice, even unsolicited, but it's always meant well. She can be what some might call slightly annoying, but her warmth and happiness are infectious, and her sweet personality wins just about everyone over.

Somewhat impatient and not very inclined towards math or visualization, Aoife is not particularly good at drawing or planning her creations in advance, and tends to just throw herself at her materials and do what feels right. This sometimes results in quite a few failed pieces, which annoys Nat mildly as she feels it's a waste of materials, but it also results in some truly stunning works of art, which in Nat's mind, makes up for the mild annoyance.

However, Aoife also hates waste. She's a lover of life and nature and recycles her materials from her failed projects as best as she can, and often goes salvaging for junk that she can use as materials or turn into art. She also has a bit of a green thumb, and has taken to cultivating a small garden out front of the studio.

Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Fluent), Vani (Basic), Isur (Poor)

No one truly knows much about the fabulous Lady Belladonna. Some say she grew up an orphan, a wench who somehow with sheer luck, beauty, and skill surpassed the iron grip of poverty and became one of the most beloved of the underground; others say she's the daughter of a Seiza judge, disowned by her father after having been caught red-handed in her debauchery.

Whatever the case, she is a picture of grace and exudes wealth and power, but those close to her know that she can and has been known to viciously dispose of those who truly displease her. She is quick to please the important patrons to the brothel, and does so efficiently and with promise of grander things. Through it all, the Madame takes care of her workers, although she can be strict to those that repeatedly make mistakes. Belladonna is all sweet smiles and graceful gestures, with a tongue that can sometimes hold poison.

Madame Belladonna, while the owner of the Red Lantern, is also a pleasure worker herself, and may be requested by those who are able to afford her.

Gweneveh
ImageName: Gweneveh
Race: Human
Birthdate: 492 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Pleasure worker at the Red Lantern
Skills: Acrobatics - 44, Acting - 97, Intelligence - 25, Meditation - 36, Persuasion - 63, Seduction - 51
Languages: Common (Fluent), Fratava (Fluent), Nari (Basic)

Gwenenveh had an insignificant upbringing. Her parents held no great influence but didn’t find themselves poverty-stricken. Theirs had been an arranged marriage, something of a sideways business move that went nowhere, leaving the two in a loveless relationship with nothing more to show for it, but the two were in it together and decided to make the best of it.

While they didn’t love each other, they weren’t about to miss out on the pleasure to be had. The fruits of that pleasure were three children, all daughters. The eldest left the City of Lights and made a name for herself defying death with the Inverted in Alvadas. Showing a particular affinity for projection, the youngest joined the Shinya, thriving there while not necessarily moving up the ranks.

The middle daughter was Gweneveh. No one really ever expected much from her. They thought she would disappear into the regular day-to-day of the city, become another forgotten cog just like her parents, but she had ideas of her own and made connections as she grew up, the one that mattered most of these being Madame Belladonna. Gweneveh knew her before she opened the Lantern, and the two became fast friends.

When Belladonna, or Bee as Gweneveh knew her, suggested they open a brothel, Gweneveh was only too pleased to go along with the idea. Whether it was an idea of her own creation or the product of growing up with two parents in a loveless marriage, Gweneveh had come to the conclusion that love wasn’t real. One could love their family and their friends, but romance was just an idea that people played at, and if there were people foolish enough to pay for that illusion, she was happy to reap the benefits.

While she didn’t believe in it, she could fake it, play it, as if she was head over heels. Anyone she tried this on fell for the trick, tricked themselves into believing love was real, as she saw it. Together, the two managed to fund Bee’s idea and turn it into a reality, and while it was a joint effort, Gweneveh let Bee step into the spotlight. Her friend had the natural air of grace and sophistication that made her the better fit to be the face of their new venture.

As their business boomed, Belladonna drew them in, but it was Gweneveh who seemed to retain more clientele. Those who came to her believed they were in love. While her skills in pretending and making others believe in what she pretends are her greatest tool, her memory is what holds it all together. She remembers most everything her clients tell her about themselves and everything they tell her about the way they feel about her. She even remembers details that their closest friends don’t recall.

Though she is a somewhat clumsy seductress, Gweneveh more than makes up for it with the way she manipulates the emotions of those she entertains. She is unafraid to perform the usual work by the bell that most of the other women in the Lantern do, but she is in her element when she is alone with a single customer for a length of time. Most of her regular clientele will pay for a whole night or day with her, and those she has come to trust and know best are welcome to her actual living quarters on the second story.

As Gweneveh was with Belladonna from the beginning, she is one of the Madame’s few confidants and one of the few who knows the truth about her history. As manipulative as she can be, Gweneveh is loyal and would never disclose information about her friends and her clients. Though she firmly believes that romance is a pretense, she still cares for those whose hearts are in her hands.

Lazuli Ink Zintia Peak

Inecino Kimur
ImageName: Inecino Kimur
Race: Human
Birthdate: 492 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Owner and tattoo artist at Lazuli Ink
Skills: Calligraphy - 40, Drawing - 55, Painting - 60, Tattooing - 72, Teaching - 20, Writing - 30
Languages: Common (Fluent), Myrian (Poor), Symenos (Poor)

Inecino is a born and bred Lhavitian. He's always had an aptitude for drawing and painting. His parents always had high hopes for him to become a renowned artist, and at first it seemed that it would go that way. However, one day while he was painting a landscape just over Sartu, he was interrupted by a lost traveler. The man was a heavily tattooed Myrian, and was very unfamiliar with the area. Inecino was immediately fascinated by the ink covering the man. He immediately invited the man to stay with him for a while. The man agreed tentatively. Inecino became obsessed with drawing the man and his tattoos, and on more than one occasion he crossed the line of personal space.

After weeks of badgering, the man finally agreed to teach Inecino the art of tattooing. While he never spoke of his past and why he was no longer in the jungles, he did teach all the art and style of Myrian tattooing. And his student was a very quick learner. In a season's time, Inecino was an accomplished tattooist, having done several of his own. His Myrian mentor left town, but his teachings would live on.

Inecino is a very kind man, and very dedicated to his art. He is always upfront with his customers and assistants, and expects the same in return. He makes sure that his customers know that the tattoos they are receiving are permanent and need to be treated as a part of themselves, rather than just a decoration. He is very calm and patient, and only has one vice; and that is sleeping. He refuses to abide by Lhavit's schedule of rest periods. When he's tired, he sleeps, and stays asleep until he is fully rested. He also shuts down the shop during any festival, which he is guaranteed to attend.

Soraya Orchid
ImageName: Soraya Orchid
Race: Symenestra
Birthdate: 498 AV
Birthplace: Kalinor
Occupation: Manager, piercer, and tattoo artist at Lazuli Ink
Skills: Drawing - 72, Herbalism - 54, Medicine - 25, Organization - 32, Piercing - 35, Tattooing - 50
Languages: Common (Fluent), Symenos (Fluent)

Soraya Orchid grew up in Kalinor. She was always shy and withdrawn, and it was quite clear that she wouldn't be able to go abroad and Harvest with any success. But she wanted to be useful, so she worked in the Place of Purging. She learned a few basic medical skills, as well as how to use herbs to help others. In her spare time, she would draw the mothers and the children. She would even draw the surrogates through the locked doors. She knew the Harvest to be necessary, and approved of it, but she felt that something of the surrogates should live on. So they lived on in her drawings.

She eventually felt the desire to see the world, and was directed toward Lhavit. The city was close, safe, and mostly friendly. Upon arrival, she made no attempt to hide her Symenestra heritage. This often made people wary of her, but anyone who got to know her learned she was harmless. She was often spotted stalking people, not to eat, not to lure away, but to draw. She especially loved to draw the protectors of the city, the Shinya.

One day while stalking a patrolman, as was usual for her, she bumped into Inecino Kimur. She was quickly enraptured in the art in his body, and he was in love with her drawings. He offered her a job, and she accepted. He taught her his art, and while she has yet to master tattooing as Inecino has, she is an amazing complement to him. She does many of the designs and drawings for tattos, helps mix and keep stock of the inks, and even helps tend to the minor wounds that are associated with tattoos; rumor has it she even came up with the Lapis ink.

She is a very quiet, organized individual. Before she came along, Lazuli Ink was a mess. Drawings, ink, paintings were everywhere, and Inecino would often be found asleep in his shop without locking up. She's the responsible side of the business, and will act as such with customers. She collects the payment, is courteous and professional, and helps customers figure out what they truly want out of a tattoo. She can often be found passing out hand made fliers for the shop, and whenever Inecino is sleeping, she's in charge.

Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Piercer at Lazuli Ink
Skills: Drawing - 20, Medicine - 68, Piercing - 80, Tattooing - 18
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Kerra was born and raised in Lhavit, and always had a deep fascination for tattoos and body modifications of all sorts; this fascination began when she first glimpsed, at a young age, a visitor to the city with several piercings and many tattoos.

She quickly discovered that her talent in drawing, and thus tattooing, was lacking; so Kerra shifted her main focus to piercing. Her parents never understood her interests, but were supportive nonetheless. For several years, Kerra ran a piercing shop out of her home; until one day, Inecino stopped in out of curiosity.

Impressed with Kerra's piercings, he decided to hire her at Lazuli Ink. While the shop's focus was and still is tattoos, many customers interested in inking their skin are also interested in piercings, and so Kerra now fills that niche; while she works as a piercer, Kerra also continues to try and hone her skills in art and tattooing, hoping to one day be able to work as a tattoo artist. But until then, she is more than happy to continue her work as a piercer in an environment she loves.

The Zintia Rest Zintia Peak

Hessel
ImageName: Hessel
Race: Eypharian
Birthdate: 468 AV
Birthplace: Eyktol
Occupation: Cleaner at the Zintia Rest
Skills: Cleaning - 60, Cooking - 50, Glassblowing - 60, Leadership - 35, Socialization - 30
Languages: Common (Fluent), Arumenic (Fluent)

A cleaner at the Zintia Rest, Hessel is a six-armed Eypharian who often works behind the scenes, but one may run into her on occasion. Should she be seen and engaged, which is often since Eypharian aren't very common in Lhavit, she is quite friendly and more than willing to take the time to talk.

Hessel is a kindly woman who works in a lowly position by choice in an effort to atone for a previous sin. In her youth, Hessel was a tempestuous young woman living in Eyktol. She enjoyed it all; luxury, leisure, and the lust of handsome men. It was the latter that brought her trouble when she became pregnant from an illicit relationship with a slave lover. Her lover cared deeply for her, but Hessel wanted to die from the shame. She scorned the man over and over and sold him for pittance at the nearest slave market. Once their child was born she cast it into the river to drown to death.

She thought she didn't care, but as time passed she found herself thinking of the dead child over and over again as she was eaten from within by guilt. The final straw was learning that her old slave lover had gained freedom... and promptly hung himself from grief and despair over his lost love and dead child. The news cut her deeper than she could have ever imagined. Hessel could only do one thing, and that was run.

She ran until she was as far away from the desert and the past as she could be. In her arduous journey north she learnt much about herself, and slowly learnt to forgive herself. Now she is mellow, cheerful, and spends her spare time learning new skills. Her past is a scar that is slowly healing, but she rarely talks about it. Hessel is quick to make friends, but slower to form true bonds.

The Catholicon Tenten Peak

Rasika
ImageName: Rasika
Race: Eypharian
Birthdate: 487 AV
Birthplace: Eyktol
Occupation: Receptionist at the Catholicon
Skills: Calligraphy - 50, Copying - 40, Cosmetology - 20, Mathematics - 28, Organization - 80, Philosophy - 40, Politics - 35, Writing - 72
Languages: Common (Fluent), Arumenic (Fluent)

Rasika is a relatively young six-armed Eypharian who moved to Lhavit several years ago, and is one of the few Eypharians in the city. She is almost always behind the front desk at the Catholicon, greeting patients and dealing with medical prescriptions and payments; she is often multi-tasking, scribbling something down with one pair of arms while organizing or dealing with payments with the other set.

Rasika was born in Eyktol to a relatively well-known and well-off family, but something always seemed lacking in her life. Beautiful and wealthy, she never questioned anything, dutifully learning politics, mathematics, and philosophy from teachers her parents assigned to her, but she found it all very superficial. At 23, she met a Chaktawe man, who she fell in love with; his somber attitude, deep spirituality, and plain clothes were all new and strange to her, but Rasika found herself fascinated.

When the time came for her lover to move on, she went with him; eventually, the two decided to go their separate ways, but their parting was amicable and they hold each other fondly in their memories.

Rasika didn't wish to return to Eyktol, as her parents had been furious with her choice to leave, and with a Chaktawe man at that, so she decided to leave the desert. Eventually, she heard of a lovely mountainous city; despite all she had learned, she still yearned for beauty and had a soft spot for pretty things, and the sound of the sparkling city appealed immensely to her.

Upon arriving, Rasika found work at the Catholicon; while a mere receptionist, she felt working at such a place was a worthy job, and while perhaps still slightly snobby, she has settled into the role nicely.

Alessia Amaryllis

Race: Mixed blood (Human/Symenestra)
Birthdate: 486 AV

Occupation: Doctor at the Catholicon
Skills: Biology - 68, Botany - 25, Herbalism - 55, Hypnotism - 50, Leadership - 50, Medicine - 85, Philtering - 40, Poison - 76
Languages: Common (Fluent), Symenos (Fluent)

Doctor Alessia has always been considered an anomaly. This crimson-eyed Symenestra is a notorious half-breed, having been sired by a human father and a Symenestra mother. Her involvement in the underground is driven by this heritage in no small regard. After her mother's death from childbirth, it has been her life's work to manufacture a curative off-setting the Symenestra newborn's natural toxin so that it might be extracted safely from the womb.

In passing, she is taciturn but friendly. Alessia is nothing if not professional. Her day to day interactions with patients are usually brief. She excels in surgery but has no real bedside manner. Instead, she delegates that responsibility to her team. In hiring, she favours others of her kind for their innate dexterity. This also serves as a means of keeping tabs on Kalinor's regular Gleanings. She finds it her personal responsibility to aid the Shinya whenever possible as repayment for her acceptance into the community.

When befriended, she is a sharp woman with a droll sense of humor. Being a doctor has afforded her few colleagues, thus she treats them all with special care. Alessia has taken a vow of celibacy due to her heritage, and so remains unmarried.

Yonaton Ayume
ImageName: Yonaton Ayume
Race: Human

Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Aurist and doctor at the Catholicon
Skills: Arcanology - 20, Auristics - 62, Business - 5, Herbalism - 30, Logic - 45, Medicine - 78
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Yonatan grew up to merchant parents, but business was not for him. From a young age, he wanted to help people. He saw that Lhavit was a beautiful city with great people, and he wanted to aid those people and diminish any suffering he could.

He decided to dedicate his life to medicine. Yonaton was already a student at the Dusk Tower learning to use auristics, and upon realizing the applications of the magic in medicine, he increased the intensity of his study in order to learn all he could.

Yonatan volunteered at The Catholicon as well in his spare time, eventually quitting his studies when he felt satisfied and beginning a full-time job. His specialty is in using the medical applications of auristics to diagnose and help patients more quickly. He now works to this day as the main Medical Aurist at The Catholicon, often working more than is strictly required, even at the cost of sleep. This, coupled with his frequent use of djed for auristics, leaves him looking tired all the time, which has given him the nickname "Dr. Sleepy" among some of the younger employees at The Catholicon. It also doesn't help that his name sounds like it has the word "yawn" in it.

Nivaea
ImageName: Ni'vaea
Race: Kelvic (White wolf)
Birthdate: 515 AV
Birthplace: Mura
Occupation: Healer at the Catholicon
Gnosis: 1 mark of Rak'keli (Healing level 1)
Skills: Auristics - 20, Herbalism - 30, Hunting - 45, Medicine - 42, Philtering - 22, Swimming - 38, Tracking - 35, Unarmed Combat - 48
Languages: Common (Fluent), Kontinese (Fluent)

Tall and slim, Ni'vaea has pale skin, long, white hair, and striking yellow eyes. One could mistake her for a Konti at a glance, if not for the lack of scales and oddly coloured eyes. Opening her mouth, however, reveals long, sharp canines, firmly identifying her as a Kelvic to those who know what to look for. In her wolf form, Ni'vaea keeps her tall and slim physique, with long legs and a thick, pure white coat.

Ni'vaea was born on Mura to a pair of Kelvics, her mother an Ivaski, her father a barn owl. For the first few weeks of her life, due to the tuft of white hair on her head and her icy blue eyes, her parents were sure she was an Ivaski like her mother and thrilled; but when she was old enough to shift for the first time, they realized she was a wolf.

While her parents loved her fiercely regardless, Ni'vaea grew up feeling that disappointment hanging over her head. She never quite felt good enough. Her mother was a member of the Opal Order and bonded to a Konti Healer, and Ni'vaea grew up learning medicine and herbalism from them, finding her passion in it. When she was marked by Rak'keli at a young age, her mother was delighted, but it still didn't fill the hole that Ni'vaea felt.

Unable to stand it any longer, Ni'vaea eventually fled Mura without even bidding her parents goodbye, too ashamed of her decision to leave; to her, it was just something else that marked her as a failure. She traveled around for sometime before ending up in Lhavit; the cool climate and thick forests appealed to the wolf in her, and she found work at the Catholicon doing what she loved.

She's been in Lhavit for about a year now, and has settled in nicely. She can be a little bit cool, aloof, and impatient, which leaves her bedside manner slightly lacking, but Ni'vaea is a kind sort once you get to know her, with a mischievous streak and a dry sense of humour. She's also eager and curious, always wanting to learn more, and all the while she holds out hope to one day find a bondmate who will see past the expectations that were put on her at birth.

Skills: Caretaking - 30, Herbalism - 50, Medicine - 62, Musical Instrument (Fiddle) - 55, Socialization - 45, Storytelling - 32
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Senri is Doctor Alessia's most trusted assistant; competent in his own rights, he is still young, but has been working under Alessia for several years. Born and raised in Lhavit, Senri took an interest in medicine at a young age when his mother fell very ill; she ended up passing away from her illness, which only spurred Senri on in his studies.

Calm and level-headed, Senri is soft-spoken and gentle, with an excellent bedside manner. He is known to check in on his patients more than necessary, and when he has free time, he can often be found sitting with those who are required to stay overnight, either telling them a story or playing them a quiet tune on his fiddle to entertain them.

Alessia has scolded him for this more than once, but doesn't have the heart to genuinely do so; in fact, on occasion when she is tired and has a moment to spare, she will pause outside whatever room Senri is in to listen to him as well.

Kenvell is the proprietor of the Stargazing Gazette. As the center for the city's source of information, she holds delicate ties to the powerful families and leading factions of the city. An excellent sailor in the social waters of Lhavit, she is perfectly amiable to anyone who approaches her, for whatever reason. Although secluded, Kenvell is a well known name within Lhavit, not only because of the secrets she hoards, but the ones she shares as well.

Despite her work, Kenvell breaks the stereotype that reporters have gathered for themselves, or at least seems to. Her use of the information she so easily acquires seems to not be used with malicious intent; or so it seems. Beware what you say when speaking to her, because she often hears more than you intend to tell.

A'shra is a beautiful Konti woman, and despite being over a century old, looks no older than her early twenties. She has flowing white hair in loose waves, with porcelain skin and pale violet eyes. Iridescent green scales grace her cheekbones, forehead, shoulders, arms, and legs.

A'shra is a prolific businesswoman. She and her mother moved to Lhavit when she was young, and A'shra inherited the Starglow Spa from her mother. She learned early on how to excel in positions of responsibility and management; her work is her life. A'shra has a charm about her and a sweet but dominant demeanour.

Her exceptional beauty, of course, helps when dealing with any disputes; but in spite of this, she seems to have little time or interest in romance. Being a woman of faith and devotion to her deities, many patrons can see her during her daily meditation break. Interrupting her during these periods is inadvisable.

Growing up, Afwen had a promising career in dancing; her parents hoped she would join the Ethereal Ballet, but it simple wasn't meant to be. A serious leg injury when she was 11 meant Afwen could never dance professionally. She recovered gradually, and instead shifted her focus to cosmetics, finding a new passion and never losing hope.

Tawnya is on the tall side for a woman, and built lithely, with lean but well-defined muscles. Her long brown hair always has braids in it, intertwined with various coloured strings and ribbons. Her green gaze is piercing and almost unsettling, but she is friendly enough despite appearances. Tawnya speaks with a quiet, sibilant voice; though most of the time she is silent, unless a client actively engages her in conversation.

Born in Zinrah, Tawnya always felt distant from her nestmates, and grew up with a longing to see the world. She finally gave in to her wanderlust at a young age, and spent some time traveling around, eventually landing in Lhavit.

One of the few Dhani in the city, she was almost barred entrance upon arriving. Seeking employment was a veritable nightmare, but finally, A'shra took a chance on her. The two have been close friends ever since. Tawnya has lived in the city long enough and made herself well-known enough through her job that, while still disliked and distrusted by some, the Shinya no longer watch her every move.

Chiro Alban
ImageName: Chiro Alban
Race: Human
Birthdate: 491 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Cosmetologist at the Starglow Spa
Skills: Cosmetology - 92, Meditation - 48, Projection - 25, Socialization - 80, Unarmed Combat - 50, Weapon (Longsword) - 45
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Tall and decidedly handsome, Chiro is a laid-back and easy-going young man. Growing up the son of a Shinya, he was trained in combat from a young age, and expected to follow in his father's footsteps. While he enjoyed combat training, the prospect of devoting his entire life to becoming a Shinya never sat well with Chiro.

Instead, he preferred his mother's line of work; cosmetology. There was something about making others feel beautiful and confident that he found deeply satisfying and appealing; it was an unconventional way of helping people, yet one that was profoundly underestimated in how effective it could be.

Chiro works as the Spa's cosmetologist, doing facials, manicures, pedicures, and other cosmetics-based treatments. He enjoys talking with his clients greatly, never hesitating to offer advice, and is a wonderful listener; but he also knows when someone prefers to be pampered in silence.

Flights of Fancy Sartu Peak

Aedryn
Image
Name: Aedryn
Race: Inarta
Birthdate: 475 AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Occupation: Owner of Flights of Fancy
Skills: Business - 50, Falconry - 60, Glassworking - 28, Negotiation - 85, Persuasion - 56, Weapon (Talon Sword) - 48
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Fluent)

On the tall side for an Inarta at 5'6", Aedryn is a middle-aged woman who one would probably not expect to run a drughouse. She has long strawberry blonde hair, piercing hazel eyes, and fair skin dotted with freckles. Her age is beginning to show in fine lines around her mouth and eyes, and she favours Lhavitian dress, often layered in scarves and shawls in rich jewel tones. For all intents and purposes, she seems a perfectly nice woman, and people are often shocked to learn she runs Flights of Fancy.

Aedryn grew up in Wind Reach and worked as a successful falconer for a long time; however, she always longed for something more. When she accompanied a friend on a trading trip to Lhavit, she knew instantly that was where she wanted to be. So she packed up her life and moved.

She had dabbled in drugs lightly throughout her life, and had a good friend who specialized in making them; it didn't take long for her to realize the potential of a business that specialized in drugs, many of which were traded in from Wind Reach; and so Flights of Fancy was born.

Aedryn is a skilled business-woman; she's friendly enough, but she's quick on her feet when it comes to negotiating, and she's very persuasive. She believes in good business practices, and doesn't stand for any shady or sleazy dealers working in her drughouse, though she knows they exist. While her temper is fierce, few things trigger it; learning that one of her employees has been acting sleazy behind her back is one of those few things.

Iyva
Image
Name: Iyva
Race: Kelvic (Imperial Watcher)
Birthdate: 515 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Bodyguard at Flights of Fancy
Skills: Brawling - 30, Intimidation - 57, Investigation - 80, Stealth - 22, Unarmed Combat - 85, Wilderness Survival (Forest) - 20, Wrestling - 25
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Iyva is Flights of Fancy's bodyguard. She patrols the premises and keeps an eye on patrons; her job is to break up any fights, and to keep an eye out for any outside drugs being brought in, as well as any dealers who are going behind Aedryn's back. Tall at 6'5" and leanly muscled, Iyva is intimidating, with cool blue eyes and long canines. A few patches of white skin and hair betray her Kelvic colouration; as an Imperial Watcher, she is on the larger side, and coloured a pale fawn brown with white spots.

Iyva is just as likely to be seen prowling in her canine form as she is in her human one. A natural protector, a trait she gets from her Kelvic animal breed, bodyguarding came natural to her, and her keen sense of smell helps her sniff out contraband.

Born in Lhavit, the Kelvic has never had a bondmate, and left her parents at a young age, not sure what she wanted to do with her life. She became addicted to drugs, which is how she met Aedryn; the Inarta woman saw the potential in her, and helped her kick her addiction, hiring her on to work at the drughouse. Despite her previous addiction, the substances she works around don't tempt Iyva, and she hasn't touched drugs since.

Yantavi
Image
Name: Yantavi
Race: Inarta
Birthdate: 488 AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Occupation: Drug dealer at Flights of Fancy
Skills: Intelligence - 35, Intimidation - 20, Investigation - 50, Larceny - 48, Persuasion - 85, Rhetoric - 62, Seduction - 15, Socialization - 75, Stealth - 55
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Fluent)

Standing at 5'8", Yantavi is one of the taller Inarta. He is on the thin side, tending towards lean, and has pale skin dotted heavily with freckles. He has deep brown eyes and a bad habit of squinting, and his vivid ginger hair is often pushed back in an intentionally messy style with far too much product.

Born in Wind Reach, Yantavi has been a troublemaker since birth. Pranks progressed to petty crimes such as vandalism and theft, and eventually, Yantavi took an interest in drugs; not for himself, but for profit. Feeling stifled in Wind Reach and reaching his threshold of trouble he could cause, Yantavi left for Lhavit at a relatively young age, and set up shop in the city.

At first he worked as a drug dealer alone, but business was scarce; so when he found Flights of Fancy, it was perfect for him. Yantavi has been a shady dealer since day one of his employment, but has somehow through skill and sheer luck managed to avoid being caught. He does plenty of business on the side, and has no qualms about cutting corners in order to offer his customers the best prices.

Sleazy yet somehow charming, Yantavi is very much a people person and somehow manages to make friends with just about everyone. He's casual and laid-back, with quick wit, a silver tongue, and a rogueish grin, but all he really cares for is profit.

The Hunter's Guild Sartu Peak

Long Stan
ImageName: Stannis Sunwalker (Long Stan)
Race: Human
Birthdate: 468 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Founder and hunter at the Hunter's Guild
Skills: Bodybuilding - 42, Hunting - 75, Intimidation - 50, Mountaineering - 60, Stealth - 35, Storytelling - 55, Weapon (Spear) - 67, Wilderness Survival - 88
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Poor)

Born and bred of Lhavit soil, Long Stan has really had quite the lifetime of adventure. Over a good mug of whiskey, he'll happily tell many stories of hunts and battles with ferocious beasts, one only crazier and less believable than the next. His friends, however, will vouch that every single one of them is true.

He grew up with Orim, and the two have been just about inseparable since early childhood. 'A bond deeper than blood', as they often say. The nickname 'Long Stan' he indeed earned back in those days for having always been so very tall. Suffice to say, Stan is a little intimidating at first. He has an ageing face covered in valleys and scars, leathery skin weathered by the temperament of the forest, and piercing grey eyes; but in spite of his advanced years, he's in a terrific shape. A light beams from him, an unparalleled energy and yearning for adventure, and a wide grin tends to soften his intimidating features.

Orim
ImageName: Orim (Redbeard)
Race: Inarta
Birthdate: 465 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Founder and hunter at the Hunter's Guild
Skills: History - 35, Hunting - 62, Land Navigation - 62, Tracking - 50, Weapon (Shortbow) - 60, Wilderness Survival - 76
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Fluent)

Orim is by far one of the harder members of the Guild to get along with. Though rarely seen outside of the company of his childhood best friend, Long Stan, he is far less talkative than the others, and far less inclined to share details about himself. However, should you be lucky enough to find the man taking a liking to you, he's more loyal than a dog and more honour-bound than most. He is passionate about seeing the city he grew up in flourish. Establishing the guild initially was his idea.

Orim is very much a typical Inarta; he isn't afraid to speak his mind on matters, and he does so boldly. His long, red hair is often tied up, and his red beard kept neat. A myriad of freckles adorns aged, sun-kissed skin. It is in the wilds that he find himself at his happiest. Brave like a bear, the man often wishes to take hunting parties into the Unforgiving under his leadership, even if such occasions are a rare possibility.

Though not exactly a family man, Orim does have two children: Raeyn and Mara. After the death of his wife Astrid, he never remarried.

Irmina Bloodwood
ImageName: Irmina Bloodwood
Race: Human
Birthdate: 484 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Hunter and merchant at the Hunter's Guild
Gnosis: 1 mark of Xyna (Minting level 1)
Skills: Business - 80, Hunting - 32, Intimidation - 30, Mathematics - 40, Negotiation - 65, Persuasion - 50, Tactics - 55, Weapon (Crossbow) - 45, Wilderness Survival (Forest, mountain) - 48
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXIXXXXXXXLanguages: Common (Fluent)

To put it simply, Irmina is one scary woman. Her presence is commanding, and she's no-nonsense and straight to the point; she has one thing that she truly cares for, and that is money. She has a symbiotic relationship with the guild; the hunters provide her with valuable trophies and goods, and she in return brings a lot of money in. No one can ever really do what she does as well as she does, thus she's left alone with a green light to do as she pleases, when she pleases. Suffice to say, getting on the bad side of Irmina is a bad, bad idea.

A beauty of dark skin and chestnut hair, Irmina is surprisingly short for the great renown her name carries. She's been known to make the largest of men cry however, and no one really knows how she does it. She's just that good.

Liard
ImageName: Liard
Race: Human, mixed (Human/Inarta)
Birthdate: 488 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Hunter and tracker at the Hunter's Guild
Skills: Animal Husbandry - 35, Hunting - 55, Land Navigation - 40, Tracking - 62, Weapon (Shortbow) - 45, Wilderness Survival - 78
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Basic)

Liard had quite the sad childhood. Raised by an alcoholic single father, he had learned early on that he had just himself to count on. He'd often have to clean up messes after his old man, get him out of trouble, and make apologies on his behalf. Thus when the old man finally passed away shortly after the boy's 22nd birthday, he wasn't all that sad. Industrious as he was, he had found a way to support himself and make a living from his exceptional aim and love of the wild.

Liard is a free spirit; a rugged beauty with a crop of auburn hair, never quite cleanly shaven, and often smelling of the woods, he has green eyes that sparkle with untamed energy. He lives for himself and only himself, does what he pleases, and swears like a sailor doing it; a whippersnapper attitude he has carried into his later life from childhood. Liard has a great love of banter, but often rubs people the wrong way; suffice to say, he's an acquired taste when it comes to friendship. He loves to drink, he loves tobacco, and he has a real sweet tooth, apple pie being his greatest and perhaps only weakness.

For such a rough fellow as is Liard, he has formed a true companionship with a female calico cat. It's very rare for the two to be seen apart. Going by the name Misty, she's neither a prolific hunter nor very useful in many situations, but she sure is cute. Few understand Liard's deep protective love of the cat, but she does keep his blood pressure down in stressful situations, and what more could a man really ask for?

Tess Aleheim
ImageName: Tess Aleheim
Race: Human
Birthdate: 470 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Hunter and trapper at the Hunter's Guild
Skills: Hunting - 42, Land Navigation - 30, Trapping - 65, Poison (Arboreal, bestial, roots, mineral, moss) - 48, Weapon (Blowdart) - 50, Weapon (Crossbow) - 30, Wilderness Survival - 82
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Tess is a little bit crazy; anyone who knows her will tell you that. When she works, she gets this weird little spark in her eyes, which is truly worrying since the majority of her work consists of constructing traps and killing animals. But then again, that's Tess. No one has bothered to question her for years.

Tess is a crazy grandmother with a family a little too large to be able to keep count of all her grandchildren. She takes a lot of that grandmotherly attitude with her, being really quite caring over new members and existing members alike. She's the one to talk to if you have your heart set on joining the guild. She's got a way of buttering everyone up with some witty banter, creative affectionate insults, and a generally great sense of humour. Everyone seems to love her...apart from Long Stan. She just rubs him the wrong way. The two are somehow distantly related, and endlessly tease and taunt each other.

Rhemy
ImageName: Rhemy
Race: Drykas
Birthdate: 498 AV
Birthplace: The Sea of Grass
Occupation: Crafter and hunter at the Hunter's Guild
Skills: Animal Husbandry - 25, Bowing - 45, Cartography - 30, Fletching - 55, Hunting - 45, Land Navigation - 52, Riding (Horse) - 48, Weapon (Longbow) - 46, Wilderness Survival - 80
Languages: Common (Fluent), Pavi (Fluent)

A love of mapmaking and discovery brought Rhemy to Lhavit after the loss of her Strider, and a few strong friendships have kept her in the city since. The industrious young woman is truly a master of making a living in a new setting, even if some facets still prove a bit of a culture shock. She loves that in the Star of Kalea she can divide her time between a love of the hunt, and more scholarly pursuits.

A pretty face on a tall girl, Rhemy keeps her brown hair short and her olive skin makeup free; her body is of a muscular build. She has a friendly disposition, forever with a smile on her face. She does, however, really hate Liard. At some point the two had had a disagreement over something or other, and it seems they haven't been able to find common ground since.

Elena Lariet
★ ★ ★Note: As of summer 519 AV, Elena was murdered by the Magekiller; therefore, she may only be used in flashbacks prior to this date.

ImageName: Elena Lariet
Race: Human
Birthdate: 491 AV
Birthplace: Sahova
Occupation: Owner and teacher at Elena's Studio of Enchantment
Skills: Alchemy - 35, Animation - 50, Glyphing - 40, Hypnotism - 65, Intelligence - 60, Persuasion - 80, Politics - 52, Seduction - 48, Subterfuge - 55, Voiding - 75
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nader-Canoch (Basic)

Elena is a sensual woman, blessed with a caramel complexion and eyes the color of steel. She is unyielding, shrewd, ambitious, and determined; yet also self-indulgent and carefree. She was born on the island of Sahova, the child of a slave. Her mother was bought and worked to the brink of death before being discarded like a worthless scrap of cloth. Elena was born on the shore, alone and afraid when a passing Nuit discovered her. Seeing the opportunity, he decided to raise the child in a world of magic, testing the limits of human psychological capacity.

What he did not expect was Elena to flourish. At age five, she was no longer a test subject, but rather a friend. The Nuit took her on as an apprentice, as she was invaluable in the art of Shielding, keeping his laboratory safe. He later taught her hypnotism and used her in his political schemes, skills she still puts to a good end. Through interactions with other mages, she quickly gained other proficiencies.

Her interest in voiding, however, was single-minded, and in the process of one of her experiments, she accidentally took the life of her master and friend. Grieved, she left Sahova to travel the world, finally settling in Lhavit.

As an employer, she maintains strict yet peculiar regulations. Elena is highly eccentric and reclusive, sticking to her own compound. She keeps more acquaintances than friends, and develops relationships based on equivalent exchange. She keeps a regiment of bodyguards and companions, all for their unique potential. She is willing to fight for what she wants and is not above seducing a mage away from any of their previous dedications.

Den of the Lost Sartu Peak

Rostam the Curse Eater
ImageName: Rostam the Curse Eater
Race: Myrian
Birthdate: 482 AV
Birthplace: Taloba
Occupation: Spiritist at Den of the Lost
Skills: Flux - 61, Investigation - 38, Leadership - 44, Malediction - 32, Spiritism - 74, Teaching - 20, Unarmed Combat - 35
Languages: Common (Fluent), Myrian (Fluent)

Rostam is a Myrian spiritist that settled in Lhavit several years ago. When asked why he chooses to stay, he will say that he likes the city's "egalitarian ways," which sounds convincing enough to anyone who has at least a vague understanding of the Myrian society that he abandoned. Other than that, he shares little about his past and his real reasons for coming here.

His small apartment on the Sartu Peak serves both as his workplace and residence, showing that he cares nothing about prestigious appearances. Despite his shabby outer appearance, he is highly regarded as a spiritist, offering rare services both to the living and the dead. His workings of malediction are far more obscure, as he rarely talks about it, but he might be willing to share some of his techniques with those he trusts or with fellow practitioners of the art.

He is a very disorganized person, and his home shares many characteristics with the jungle he came from. It is his natural environment and doesn't hinder him, but raises many eyebrows of more proprietary wizards. Rostam is not an academic mind and does everything hands-on, both at work and in private. Even towards complete strangers, he adopts an informal and teasing attitude, often failing to observe basic etiquette, although never to the point of breaking the unwritten rules of the society he lives in. While both his appearance and mannerisms reflect his savage roots, they carry with them an exotic charisma.

Rostam's talent as a mage, along with his savvy nature, has earned him some respect among the established magical circles of Lhavit, allowing him to mesh with the finer social fabric of the city. More specifically, the foreign eccentric has a strange friendship with Elena Lariet. The two can sometimes be seen engaging in satirical chatter in her studio, but a perceptive onlooker will recognize that their relationship is deeper than that, though in unclear ways.

Seaside

Port Tranquil Sartu Peak

Sabel Wavecrasher
ImageName: Sabel Wavecrasher
Race: Svefra
Birthdate: 491 AV
Birthplace: The Suvan Sea
Occupation: Fishmonger at Port Tranquil
Gnosis: 1 mark of Laviku (Oceanus level 1)
Skills: Carving - 26, Fishing - 40, Food Preservation - 32, Sailing - 62, Shipbuilding - 30, Swimming - 85, Weapon (Crossbow) - 35
Languages: Common (Fluent), Fratava (Fluent)

Sabel is the only remaining member of the Wavecrasher pod; her entire family was killed during the djed storm several years ago, leaving her the sole survivor. Grieving and anguished, and severely injured herself, Sabel barely managed to make her way to Lhavit, where she has remained since.

She has, on occasion, considered going to find another pod to join, or starting one of her own; but she never does, instead preferring to stay alone. She lives in a small casinor called 'The Glass Ocean' that stays docked at the port, except for when she goes sailing, though she rarely ventures far.

Sabel mostly makes her living selling fish, though on occasion she can also be found helping out at the shipyard. She is a quiet and serious woman, and keeps herself politely distanced from everyone she meets.

The Shipyards Sartu Peak

Lyel Ceari
ImageName: Lyel Ceari
Race: Charoda
Birthdate: 453 AV
Birthplace: Charbosi
Occupation: Dockmaster at the Shipyards
Skills: Carpentry - 67, Carving - 40, Negotiation - 51, Shipbuilding - 65, Singing - 81, Swimming - 100, Weaving - 46, Writing - 33
Languages: Common (Fluent), Char (Fluent), Fratava (Basic)

Lyel is one of the Elders of the Charoda population living in Port Tranquil and a widely-respected figure on the bay. Fishermen and traders alike know to be on good terms with the Master of the Yards, not least because of the enormous hytera that has been his companion for as long as anyone can remember.

Lyel himself is an imposing specimen of his race, with skin that glitters like a dolphin’s back at dawn, a richly living, subtle gray colour that always seems to shift and change with even the slightest motion. He is a swimmer of surpassing natural skill, often found effortlessly combing the bay – as much for salvage as for his own enjoyment of the element.

As a consequence of his close bond with the sea, his immersion and delight in the liquid medium, he is very sensitive to the shifts and changes in currents in Port Tranquil and the Ahger Ocean beyond. Often, he can sense the approach of danger meteorological or monstrous long before it makes its presence otherwise felt, simply by the disturbances in the water.

Kind and gentle, soft-spoken and possessed of a sublime singing voice (according to other Charoda, anyway), and filled with a deep love of the water and the sea, Lyel has turned his hands to building ships of all shapes and kinds. He has become one of the foremost craftspeople of Lhavit, despite not being able to enter the city itself, and one of the few able to work with fadeong wood to the degree needed to craft Lhavit’s iconic, unique fishing coracles and the flexing, changing framework of the fishing weirs that provide the starry city with the bay’s silver bounty.

Despite a fine living from such endeavours, Lyel yearns for more, knows that it can be done. Champion of the shipping industry – such as it is – in Lhavit, he itches to understand how to put together the greater vessels that sometimes visit from other cities, behemoths that dwarf his usual commissions and creations of skill that far surpasses his own.

A chance to inspect one down to the gunwales is something he always seizes eagerly upon, and his repair work to such vessels is meticulous and precise down to the finest of detail, since it means he can spend the maximum amount of time on, and gain the greatest understanding from, the ship itself, in the hope of one day creating such a vessel for Lhavit.

The Heilana Courage Sartu Peak

Roberta Silverfoam
ImageName: Roberta Silverfoam
Race: Svefra
Birthdate: 485 AV
Birthplace: The Ahger Ocean
Occupation: Lia of the Heilana Courage
Gnosis: 1 mark of Laviku (Oceanus level 1)
Skills: Leadership - 30, Negotiation - 50, Persuasion - 28, Projection - 50, Sailing - 45, Swimming - 30, Unarmed Combat - 60, Wilderness Survival (Ocean) - 25
Languages: Common (Fluent), Fratava (Fluent)

Roberta is a dark-haired Svefra woman with deep blue eyes and a vibrant, charismatic personality. She is tall and lithe, and has a bounce to her step.

She was brought up near to Lhavit in her parents' pod, and spent a lot of time there in her youth. However, as a teenager, she rejected the Svefra lifestyle, and began to stay in Lhavit more permanently, where she sought to join the Shinya. Her youth revolved around constant training, sometimes with her brother during the rare times when she saw her sea-faring family, and her Lhavitian boyfriend who taught her projection.

When her boyfriend was promoted, he began to ignore Roberta. For a while, she pleaded with him and begged for attention, but after a while she realized the reason for his abandonment - he'd found another lover. One who "was a better class of person", she found out after a particularly bitter argument.

Feeling angry and bewildered, Roberta dropped her studies, her ex-boyfriend, and her family, and went for change. She met Kastene and Heilana, and on a whim decided to join them on their ship. The peace and quiet of the ocean resonated with her away from the hassle of her previous life, family, and the broken love she left behind in Lhavit. And the Heilana Courage, being an unconventional Svefra ship, accepted her as their Lia, which is a role she never expected but deeply enjoys. Roberta has been the Lia of her own little pod for some time now, dubbing herself Roberta Silverfoam and calling her pod the same.

Captain Kastene Silverfoam
ImageName: 'Captain' Kastene Silverfoam
Race: Svefra
Birthdate: 467 AV
Birthplace: The Suvan Sea
Occupation: Captain of the Heilana Courage
Gnosis: 1 mark of Laviku (Oceanus level 1)
Skills: Leadership - 50, Persuasion - 50, Sailing - 70, Swimming - 37, Unarmed Combat - 40, Weapon (Shortsword) - 48
Languages: Common (Fluent), Fratava (Fluent)

Captain Kastene is a large, intimidating man with greying hair and a tousled grey beard. His face is lined from a lifetime on the sea, and his voice is low and gravelly. He looks older than he is, but the vibrancy of his mannerisms betrays his true age. He is large - tall and brawny also. He wears a long weather-stained leather coat to protect himself from the elements, and sturdy boots upon his feet.

Kastene grew up as a merchant's son near Kenash, in a tiny Svefra pod. His father's business existed in a volatile, constantly shifting market and as Kastene turned 9, his father's small trade finished for good after an incident which caused Kastene's father the loss of one eye, and the complete loss of his self-esteem. A short time later their pod joined another. Kastene began to fall in love with the seaman's life more deeply than before, and when his father moved onto shore after 10 years, Kastene stayed with the pod, and eventually left to travel on his own.

He set himself up as a trader, and did well for himself. Unfortunately, he also managed to get on the wrong side of a fellow Svefra after an evening of drinking gone wrong. Eventually, he was forced down past Riverfall, and out to the fringes of the Outer Oceans. On the way, he fell in love with a lone Kelvic osprey named Heilana, who became his bondmate and his reason for being. She dreamt of a glittering city in the far reaches of Mizahar - Lhavit. Together, they relocated their business to the Outer Ocean. They spend their time in the waters surrounding Lhavit, and in winter, usually dock more long-term and spend some time within the city itself to avoid the harsh climates up north, and to re-stock the ship.

While Kastene considered himself the captain of the Heilana Courage, upon meeting the fellow lonely Svefra Roberta, he invited her on-board and offered himself and his ship to her as a pod, and asked her to be the Lia of their small group. And so Kastene once again found himself part of a true pod, though an unconventional one, and has taken on the name that Roberta has chosen for them. While he is still called Captain, the leadership role has shifted slightly to favour Roberta. Kastene doesn't mind this; he knows he's only getting older, and that perhaps not too far in the future, Roberta will need to fill his role anyway.

Heilana Silverfoam
ImageName: Heilana Silverfoam
Race: Kelvic (Osprey)
Birthdate: 504 AV
Birthplace: The Suvan Sea
Occupation: Co-captain of the Heilana Courage
Skills: Fishing - 45, Geology - 30, Navigation (Sea) - 85, Sailing - 50, Swimming - 20, Unarmed Combat - 50, Weapon (Crossbow) - 55, Weapon (Harpoon) - 42, Wilderness Survival - 76
Languages: Common (Fluent), Fratava (Basic)

Heilana is a fair-haired woman with clear skin and twinkling eyes that betray a hint of savageness. In the right light, her brown eyes flash with a deep yellow. In the summer when her face has caught the sun, a darker band of tan scans across the top of her nose, around her eyes, and the lower part of her forehead. As a Kelvic, she is typical of an osprey, with a light belly, and dark brown wings.

Heilana was born on a small boat on the Suvan Sea, but she does not know the identity of her parents. She remembers a flash of a bright smile, and the shadow of an angular face, and that is all. Her early years were spent flying, swimming, and catching fish as she explored the Suvan. After a time, she found a Svefra ship and they took her in. A young lad grew too fond of her, but as she grew up alone her defences were high, and she rejected him and his advances. Hurt and embarrassed, the young man lashed out and cut a large gash in her shoulder. After she healed, she left and met Kastene.

She fell in love, and bonded with him despite her reservations. Her love of knowledge and freedom led her to Lhavit, where she discovered a deep love of the study of rocks and earth. During winter, she studies in Lhavit, and the rest of the year she co-captains the ship along with her husband and bondmate, Kastene.

Ein
ImageName: Ein
Race: Human, mixed (Human/Svefra)
Birthdate: 508 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Aludra's son, troublemaker
Skills: Endurance - 5, Escape Artist - 10, Leadership - 5, Logic - 15, Singing - 10, Subterfuge - 5
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Ein's birth was an accident. He doesn't know his father, or anything about him; his mother refuses to talk about anything to do with his father, to the point where the boy doesn't even know he's half Svefra. Currently, he lives with his mother, Aludra, in an elegant apartment. She gives him good food, nice clothes, and any toy he asks for... and yet, something is missing.

Because she's always out working, Aludra hires caretakers to look after Ein (when he isn't at school). For some reason, no one stays longer than a few weeks. The truth is, Ein is troublesome. He's spoiled and unpleasant, causing anyone who looks after him to immediately regret their decision. He doesn't have any friends because he tends to push them away, and he can be a little bit of a bully.

Ein is also a trouble-maker; he enjoys making mischief and causing grief for others, and aside from acting like a brat, it's not uncommon for him to run off from his caretakers to make them worry and chase him down while he enjoys wandering the streets of Lhavit.

***************ll************Languages: Common (Fluent), ***************ll************Symenos (Basic)

An eccentric and strange women, Yvonne grew up fascinated by the Symenestra, and has spent her whole life studying them and striving to emulate their culture and fashion to the best of her ability. Her admiration of the usually despised race has raised more than a few eyebrows, but Yvonne pays it no mind.

Yvonne Cylise is the widow of the late Donnathon Cylise, who was a well-known and wealthy trader hailing from Syliras. Young, poised and amicable, Yvonne was wedded in an arranged marriage, and cared very little for her husband in life. The recent passing of Donnathon left her the benefactor of his fortune. Some believe the death of Donnathon suspect, but Yvonne has long proved a lack of involvement with a more than convincing alibi. Now, she dwells within Lhavit, her eyes open to flights of fancy.

She shows very careful control of her reactions to others, her head raised high and her tone filled with a haughtiness brought about by years of an extravagant lifestyle. However, she is gracious and not at all unkind, full lips easily forming into a wide smile as she invites the strange or fascinating into her life.

Chorum Montz
ImageName: Chorum Montz
Race: Human
Birthdate: 474 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Street artist
Skills: Begging - 20, Busking - 40, Carving - 30, Drawing - 65, Painting - 87, Teaching - 31
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Chorum is an older man who wanders the streets of Lhavit offering his paintings for sale. He sometimes sets up in the Surya Plaza to do sketches, paintings, and caricatures for people as well. Quiet but kind, he has a gruff voice and a beaming smile, and loves to spread cheer with his art. He loves to see budding artists as well, and never hesitates to offer advice where he can when he sees a fellow artist, especially one who is young or struggling.

Chorum started out selling his own paintings for a living, then eventually began work at Tain's Studio, where he happily spent all of his time making art either for his job or for himself. His work there allowed him to live a life of slight luxury, using his money to spend on pricey food and women. In the spring of 506 AV, however, he met the woman of his dreams. He wanted to declare himself to her, and for that, he felt he needed to impress her. After selling most of what he owned, he bought a very expensive ring and managed to convince her to meet with himl however, when that day came, Chorum found her with another man. Betrayed and heartbroken, he fell into a depression.

He left his job and almost quit art altogether; what little art he did create was nothing like the usual beautiful and joyful painting he made, but rather was dark, angry, and terribly sad. Chorum spent what little money he earned on just enough food to get by, and the rest on alcohol. For two years he did this, until he met a young girl named Clara, who helped him get through the darkness in his heart.

They became very good friends very quickly; Clara helped him remember what happiness felt like, and Chorum taught Clara how to draw. Now, Chorum has returned to his art with a passion, and works happily as a street artist; while the occasional dark piece will slip through for him to express the sadness that still lingers, his work is largely back to the expressive and lovely pieces he used to make.

Kyra Shallon
ImageName: Kyra Shallon
Race: Mixed blood (Myrian/Human)
Birthdate: 449 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Retired Shinya, combat instructor
Gnosis: 1 mark of Myri (Prowess level 1), 1 mark of Wysar (Evantia level 1)
Skills: Acrobatics - 60, Dual Wield - 34, Meditation - 40, Projection - 32, Riding (Okomo) - 30, Teaching - 35, Unarmed Combat - 62, Weapon (Rapier) - 55, Weapon (Tiger Hook Sword) - 53
***************ll************Languages: Common (Fluent), ***************ll************Myrian (Poor)

Rather youthful looking for her age, Kyra is a tall, leanly muscled woman with warm, dark skin, mischievous dark eyes, and a kind smile. Her long hair is twisted into neat locs, bleached blonde-white at the roots and then fading into a warm honey-brown. When other women ask her for her secrets, she just winks and tells them fun and exercise are the key to staying young.

Kyra was born and raised in Lhavit. Her mother was a visiting Myrian woman who became pregnant by a Shinya she became enamored with. She left soon after Kyra was born, and so Kyra was mainly raised by her father, Kellen.

Kellen raised her to follow the path he had taken, and Kyra always excelled in the more physical talents required of a Shinya. She has always taken combat seriously, but never herself, and like the city itself being split by day and night, considers the juxtaposition of serious and fun to be an important balance for any fighter.

Kyra joined the Shinya at a young age, and rose through the ranks equally young to eventually rise to become a Rider. She spent the majority of her time serving by working the night shifts, and besides a few rather interesting nights that she does not discuss, had a rather quiet career.

Eventually she felt her age was interfering with her duties, and so retired at the ripe age of 69. Since then she has kept to her training, and is known to be fit and strong even in her advanced age. She retired to a small but pleasant residence in the Okomo Estates, with her own in-home training room for practicing combat and working one's body. However, any who meet her would question her supposed reason for retiring, for if she is as skilled a fighter as she is now, she must have been a terror to any wrongdoer in her prime.

She keeps active in her community, and at times take on work training youngsters in the ways of combat and the Shinya. She is, however, picky with her students, and will not take on just anyone with the funds to hire her, seeing as she does not need the money she charges. Rather, she accepts those she sees has promise, or who she thinks might go the wrong way without some intervention.

Note: Contact your ST for permission to train under Kyra and for prices.

Clement
ImageName: Clement
Race: Human
Birthdate: 492 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Cook, performer at various bars
Skills: Busking - 20, Cooking - 55, Musical Instrument (Fiddle) - 42, Persuasion - 40, Seduction - 53, Spiritism - 20, Unarmed Combat - 25, Weapon (Kitchen Knife) - 25
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Clement is fairly tall with a mop of tightly curled blonde hair atop his head. He often wears a greying apron and shades of white. The man has slate eyes, a smattering of freckles, and once upon a time, his nose has been broken, which gives his face a fractured appearance.

Clement was born to an ex-chef mother and a hunter father. Childhood took a turn for the worse when he and his brother got into a dangerous situation…and only Clement came out alive. He has never spoken of the incident, though he'll hold the memory of his brother's corpse floating out to sea forever. Ever since that time, his parents cut him off from their affection. Although they never once directly said so, Clement knew that they thought he was responsible for his brother's death.

He moved out as soon as he could, finding work as a cook at various restaurants, and eventually fell in love with a strange woman named Laure. The two were besotted with each other. When Laure died in childbirth and their child was a stillborn, Laure stayed back as a ghost, hoping one day to have a child again.

This tumultuous time wore Clement down. With the grief over losing his wife and child, and the disorientation of the remaining, ghostly presence of Laure, he began to lose his grip on reality. As such, it was easy for Laure to convince her husband to find a new girlfriend, and to use such a woman, essentially, as a breeding mare for her to possess during the birth of their eventual child. Then and only then will Laure leave this mortal world, satisfied in the knowledge that she has finally given birth and provided her husband with an heir.

In the meanwhile, Clement sells cooked meats to Lhavitians from a cart he bought as a way to make a bit of kina to sustain himself, and spends most of his nights busking at the bars around the city in an attempt to find a suitable host and would-be mother for Laure.

Clement is prone to rapid changes of mood, veering from mirth to black anger at the flip of a coin. He is doggedly devoted to his dead wife, and will do whatever she says. As he has been spending so much time with a ghost, his view of normal people has been skewed, to such an extent that occasionally he can slip into a delusion that the world isn't real, and ironically has to be persuaded to sanity by his ghostly wife. In more lucid moments, he treats life as a game. He is charming when he wants to be, and fairly good at seduction, though once you get to know him, it becomes obvious that the finer arts of meaningful conversation passed him by.

Laure Lymne
ImageName: Laure Lymne
Race: Ghost (Human)
Birthdate: 491 AV
Date of death: 516 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Ghost of the Lymne House
Skills: Intimidation - 17, Materialization - 28, Possession - 50, Soulmist Projection - 45, Stealth - 15
Languages: Common (Fluent)

In life, Laure was a rather plain, brown-haired woman with close-set eyes. In death, she chooses to portray herself at her most beautiful, which was the fifth night into her marriage to Clement, where she wore a purple velvet gown to a fancy dinner and had the most blissful night of her life. Yet, in ghostly form, she is pale and flickering. Most of the colour seems to have leeched from her form. Her appearance wavers and her long brown hair waves about her, as if she's underwater. If she's looking to intimidate someone, she materializes as she did when she died, her lower half drenched in her and her own newborn's blood, her cheeks blanched pale, and her eyes rolled into the back of her head.

Laure was the only child of Suzann & Jeremy Lymne, however from the get-go, she knew she was different. For a start, her parents were already old when she was young. Her parents were nothing like what her friends' parents were like. As a child, she tended to rebel against the soft and kindly nature of her mother, and her father didn't really know how to handle her wild side. Her childhood consisted of listening to taunts from her so-called friends - that she was adopted, that she was a castaway, that she wasn't really loved. Every time she dared to ask if she was truly adopted as everyone said she was, her parents either brushed the question aside or placated her with half-truths and bribery. Over time, she gave up asking, but the questions remained, burrowed deep inside.

Her father died of old age when she was about fifteen, and she was cursed with the task of caring for her ailing mother as their luxurious house seemed to crumble around them. As Suzann's mind began to falter, she spent every waking moment asking, "Do I have any grandchildren yet?" Without any kina to sustain them and wanting to have any excuse to be away from her stinking, stupid mother, Laure had a stint as a barmaid, and this was when she met Clement. They fell in love almost immediately, and Laure invited him to live with her and her ill mother. Suzann, whose mind was failing, died peacefully whilst asleep in her chair. Lovebirds Clement and Laure, so obsessed with each other, didn't notice the old woman had died until a few days after.

With both her parents dead, Laure smashed through the house, looking for some proof of her adoption, desperate for answers, yet she found nothing for all her trouble. After the funeral, Laure was delighted to have inherited all her parents' savings. With it, she and Clement hoped to live a long and happy life. Yet bad luck followed her. During childbirth, she and their unborn son developed complications, and she died in agony along with her newborn baby. She remained as a ghost intent on delivering a child into the world; to satisfy herself, her dead mother, and to give her lover the heir they both so desperately wanted.

Laure is spiteful, jealous of the 'necessary' lovers Clement acquires, and ferociously besotted with her man. She loves frightening and intimidating the poor souls that are unlucky enough to fall into her and Clement's clutches. Her possessions are insidious affairs, and her morals have long since faded, just like her soul. She is hell-bent on the task she has set herself, yet in doing so has put blinkers on and cannot see the damage she is causing to Clement's state of mind; and even if she could, the chances are high that she is so far gone that she would be beyond caring.
